Premium Member Afraid To Try

Steampunk? The old man guesses. He is past death age.
Goth laughs, understanding she has the upper hand.
I dare not add to it yet; in hologram mode, with robotic arm moves.
Green glow of a digital clock tries to chastise me.
Punish others, I think. You cannot catch me.

I like it, the old man states, less sure of himself this time.
Demons of idiocy must be driving his mouth. Why is he still here?
They are waiting for me to make a mistake.
Performance art, someone else whispers, daring to try.
I roll my eyes inside my head, silently making fun of her.
A loud cackling witch-like sound is inside my imagination.
Laughing full out.

Part of me is angry that she dared.
The other part hopes she is wrong.
For I am Type A and if Type A does not get the win,
I might as well be joining the old guy in the death coffin.
I am touching purple now, plucking out my eyes, tasting weapons.
What is your thought? The band leader asks me.
I say nothing, devouring my own soul, afraid to try.

Premium Member Everybody I Raised

Everybody I raised wants to drive.
They have to be in charge.
Insisting on being in control.

In a booth, we all have to be on the outside.
Family reunions at restaurants are okay
only if there are chairs.

Not sure where this need to control originates.
Possibly their dad’s side
or it skipped a generation.

Their grandmothers are both executive producers
of their lives, always sitting in a cat bird seat.
Orchestrating things

What is that annoying noise?
He knows he does not have permission to speak.
I have not had my third cup of coffee.

Yes, it is definitely from his side of the family.
I accept no blame in their
idiosyncrasies and Type A tendencies.

Premium Member WRITER VERSES LAPTOP - A Mildly Epic Tale

My laptop greets me daily
with the confidence of a cat~
smug, blinking, and absolutely certain
I am the problem.

 I type a brilliant sentence;
 it responds by freezing mid-word,
as if to say, “Let’s not rush genius.”
(I was not rushing. I was caffeinated.)

At 42% battery, it sighs dramatically,
dims the screen,
and collapses like a Victorian poet
who has felt too much.

I write heroic journey,
it changes it to herbal jelly,
which is… a different story entirely.

But at the end of the day,
we make peace~
me with my stubborn ideas,
it with its mysterious moods~
two flawed artists
trying to create something
before one of us crashes.

Premium Member Blood Types

Here’s a little something you might like to know.
You're a universal donor if your blood is type “O”.
You may have type “A”, or perhaps type “B”,
You may even possess the type known as “AB”.
“AB” is the blood that is found less frequently.
That type is considered a universal recipient fortunately.
For the D antigen, most people are Rhesus factor positive.
Less common are those who are Rh negative.
So there is just a little medical information.
The American Red Cross seeks donors throughout the nation.

Information obtained from pamphlets distributed by the American Red Cross.

Somber St Patrick’s Day
No parade; I am in doctor’s office

No restaurants
No bars
No congregating

Waiting room chairs are facing the wall
Only a few left out for you to sit in
Several chairs separate the guests

Receptionists are wearing blue gloves
Pretending things are normal
I make a joke; no one laughs

Doctor’s office is seriously serious
A masked face meets me before I reach clinic's front door
Made sure I was a patient before allowing me to enter

Corona Virus pandemic
Has changed everything
More stark, more deadly, colder and harder

The most at risk are the elderly
Especially those with Type A blood.
Of course mine is Type A and I am terrified.

How It Works

I’m a string of byte notations
From your CPU
Calculating information
In a blink of an eye, for you

I pull in at the station
On your motherboard
To catch a system bus
CAD, is what it’s called

There's three routes I can take
Control, address or data
Depending on the freight
It arrives a nano later

Two more important parts
On this PC station
Are the (GPU), graphics card
And memory modulation

The RAM is where I store
Temporary numeral data
To complete a task for sure
For you sometime later

The graphics processor unit
Is the place of acceleration
Sending pictures to your screen
In 3D Animation

There’s a special kind of storage place
Which is called, a hard drive
Keeping window’s very safe
Where your programmes hide inside

Now, I can make a programme
But that’s different thing
If you want to learn the basics
Just type a simple string

For those that don’t yet understand
I use a binary code
From the central processor
I then take it and load

So next time you turn me on
Just think and be-aware
I work a lot, like you my friend
And I’m here to store and share

Premium Member Its Sunday

Sunday’s an auspicious day to suggest
that you, as a student, take a recess
In order to try and decompress
from our studying and stress

Now, of course, if you’re so possessed,
or some might even say obsessed,
you could study for a test,
we all want to do our best
but some work habits can oppress
and leave one all depressed

Just take a needed rest
and if your needs are unaddressed
get caressed when you’re undressed
some would have that thought suppressed
or simply left it unexpressed
but under oath I would attest
and to a priest I have confessed
all my roommates acquiesced
that for relaxation it’s the best
and quickest way to get unstressed

there a hundred things I could suggest
you type “A”s tend to make everything a contest
in this, there are no professors for you to impress
this isn’t a competitive, academic trap, trick or jest
I just know that, on Monday, this girl will be refreshed

Premium Member I Wish He Had Left Home

I am in a bad mood he says, wanting attention.
My ears hear, but my heart will not stop.
I am in the bowels of a chapter, and it is getting serious.
My next thought is crucial; I type a bit faster.

Trying to drown him out, and do successfully.
I wish I had some attention, he says.
I wish he had a date, I wish he had a wife.
I wish he had left home. But here he is, at twenty-six.

Unable to entertain himself, dwelling on negatives.
Go see your mother, I say to my nephew.
Glad when he disappears to let her pour him a glass of milk.
If he comes back with that whining voice, I cannot guarantee his safety.

Only For Show

I’m a Type A Poet,
  literarily incorrect

In the company of fools,
my pen goes for their neck

They sing to the choir,
while we cry and spill blood

Their trash in the fire,
  their lies in the mud

The things that we struggle with,
  just folly to them

As their dilettante pleadings,
  ramble on and pretend

Their self psycho-analysis,
and the time that they steal

Turn to dead broken promises,
  masking what they can’t feel

The thing they most run from,
  we welcome inside

As they tunnel and burrow,
  trying harder to hide

And their one greatest fantasy,
   for us never to know

That their self-proclaimed mastery
—was at best just a show

Premium Member Why Is It

Why is it:

we plant gardens
but we garden plants?

we call natural medicines drugs
and we call unnaturally produced drugs medicines?

we label our disease-addicted corporate-insurance complex
a humane "health care system"?

we prefer fetal alcohol syndrome, pickled livers, and dead drunk outcomes
to THC induced probable failure to ever develop yet another over-yanged Type A personality,
with an antisocial proclivity for sprouting pickled livers and other deadly outcomes?

we tend to respond to uninvited Type B personality invitations
with Type A fully-alert personalities,
yet we respond to uninvited Type A demands
with Type B laissez-faire, neglect, and cognitively hypnotized languishing?

the older our nation grows
the younger our culture appears to prefer?

we pay more and more to elect politicians
who produce positive economic priorities and outcomes less and less?

the louder and longer I persist in persuading you of my wisdom
the shorter and softer grows your attention span
and capacity to hear me?

we produce prodigious amounts of dispossession destined for the trash
yet we seldom intend to ever possess and take ownership of our future trash?

Business As Usual economists respond to eco-logical health
as if their home eco-nomial turf were some alien crazy wealth?

domineering competitive Business As Usuals
fail to see we are a sustainable cooperative economy's
most significant source for disinvestment
away from Earth design health
and resilient development wealth?

we seldom have enough time to notice and appreciate new places and faces
but we drag through ponderous time invested in the same ol' retiring spaces?

if some communication event between two people
is called a transaction
then we think "economics,"
but if some communication event between two non-humans
is called a relationship
then we think "ecology"?

that digital information is always binary
but polynomial information is not assumed to also flow binomially balanced?

we invest in gardening well-crowned edible and ornamental gardens
but we often find it prudent
to nationalistically divest
of co-evolving nutrition-rooted Earth?
