Outside My Window
By Curtis Johnson

Staring at me up a slight hill, from my front window, there is a cul-de-sac. Outside my back window, over the road and embankment, is a railroad track. I am most proud of my little bird feeder, that helps humming birds stay on tract. The road is a rather busy one, between my fence and the railroad embankment. And there are a few trees lining the roadside, but making a quiet statement. It’s the statement that simply says, “We are here, helping to fight the erosion". There are five trees consisting of a fruitless mulberry, Which I might add, hinders my views of the sunsets. There's a Rose of Sharon. There are three fruit baring trees; an Orange, a Lemon, and the other a Santa Rosa Plum. From another side of my home of few windows, I am afforded a caring look at my garden of vegetable treats. In addition, there are two tall palm trees and several other trees from which I can pull a peach. And lastly, there are the squirrels who don't seem to get enough of all the nuts and seeds in my back yard.

Eye, I

I, am a single drop of blood
                 that swoons to your eye.
              Eye, can revisit why.
I am the Memory of every Departure.
I am born of Emotion and Dreams in brood.
    Treasure's Dragon and rider thereof.
 Adventure, myst-understood.
I am the Long Eternal wake awake
and I will always be here.
Recapturing your heart with claws to tract ture.
From beyond the Black, I wait.
                   I am your true love.
           The Picture Perfect glove,
              finger, gem-and aperture.
I am your past and your future,
  path and destination.
        I am the way back.
                                         I am Eden.
The Canvas of Hide in Pregnancy spotting
                exploits to encircle, vocation.
            The Beginnings, in my Prefecture.
An Eye of the again against replication,
                  O Love's cloning fracture.

Fire, Flicker

Light of the inferno?
It shined full bright in me.
O for those who had to go!
Spark, ignite quickly!

Drench, O mighty downpour!
The storm will wash away.
Shroud of dead man, what you wore!
Grind thy teeth a-gay!

O halcyon environment!
Never shall ye change!
Poison, how you raise the rent!
River, how you range!

Wind and mountain, forces, fact.
Pull and come what will.
Politician, trace thy tract!
Blood of foe heart, spill!

Failure to communicate?
That is never wise.
Henchmen treated ill, hide hate!
Master to despise!

Sound from deep abandoned space?
Stories: thus to tell.
Flickering filament, thy face!
Ocean, time to swell!

Explanation? Dole and doom?
Fear the wrath to come?
Immemorial thought, thy tomb!
Style, come back in gum...

Premium Member Kernel of Light

How utterly intriguing is the kernel of light?
Worn stars and signs of ebbing orbs seal the site.
A mystery lurks in the chasm of celestial hope.
and a baffling charm that belies its sheer scope.

Shining in the serenity of the fragrant night.
Emerald on the leaves in the morning dew
And the silence welcomed the cool sunlight.
Once the sky is hysterical, the trees are too.

I instantly glimpsed your celestial threshold.
The edge is no longer struck by the slant hold.
My caring soars at the peak of my anxiety.
Toward the aloofness of the soul's satiety

The line between vitality and virulence is blurred.
Euphoria leads to a rising sense of enthusiasm.
When two systems collide, my life is slurred.
You and I quickly climb out of the chasm.

My tract is in respite and away from prying eyes.
a place where ideas are born and emotions rise.
A place that nobody can conceivably reach.
a remote dwelling that is impossible to breach.

It is a safe haven for all my deepest feelings.
It shields me from the dangers of dealings.
It makes no sense to anyone but me.
It is the spot where I can feel truly happy.

I value the time I spent on this divine barge.
in which all is feasible and I am in charge.
The realm I'm depicting is just what it seems.
It's a gorgeous area that I refer to as "dreams."

Ill Suited For Madcap Twenty First Century World

Aghast at explosive industrialization/

Premium Member Pedestrian Stardust

We can build an orrery
Yet turn the sky into a junkyard

We're abecedarian, quirky contrarian
Stare decisis from cosmic ovarian

Subaltern, suborbital
Small steps on the heavenly stairway

Pedestrian stardust walking around
Tariffing penguins to tear up the ground

But the stairway is spiral
And it's spiraling down

No escape from the gravity
Found all around

Eyes searching the cosmos
For myopic bliss

In a fallacy galaxy
Far from star-kissed

We're worst when we're first
At least in our mind

Quoting chapter and verse
From each tract that we find

On the ground underneath us
That shifts with each step

Tract's gotten infected
Yet onward we schlep

Each bearing the burden
Of truth stumbled across

When we can patch the thatch
On the roof that we've lost

In that storm of ideas
That threatened the shelter

We've built for ourselves
Unstable ideas full on the shelves

We've forgotten to look
For the beauty inside

While we're gathering dust
From under our feet

Instead of uncovering
What's come from above

While planting our hopes
In the promise of love

Ben Jonson's Rhyme Scheme Deposed

Jonson posits vulgar rhyme a petty crime
Swindling paupers begging fleeting stime
Paltry syllabic compress from simple mimes
Which o'er lazy, temporal lobes climbs
Simple, jingoistic rhythms to prime
A crutch to prop up ailing metric time

Yet, Nature's species exist in kind
Mutated limbs rarely another tract find
Elliptical, redundant patterns planets bind
To their orderly, repetitive cadence resigned
Weather systems to each season assigned
Subsistence and providence congruently aligned

Catchy rhymes are not mongrel flem
Syllabic stress base lines hem
Its melodic sound caresses the requiem
The ballast that holds each leaf to stem
Glossy makeup that bastes face so prim
Crown jewel, syntactical diadem

Key Verse – Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.

LORD GOD, YOU ARE MY FULFILLER OF IMPOSSIBILITIES

Lord God, You are my Fulfiller of impossibilities

Thank You for allowing me to enjoy Your granted salvation
As I understand Your excellent exhortation…
Truly, I’m desirous to obey Your instruction.

Lord God, You are my Fulfiller of impossibilities
through Your altar’s impact
Thank You for beckoning me to come into Your fellowship, so love-packed
As I rejoice in Your answer for my prayer midst Your caring contact…
Truly, I’m admonished to stand upon Your landmark’s tract.

Lord God, You are my Fulfiller of impossibilities
through Your favour’s kindness
Thank You for filling me with Your goodness
As I seek Your throne of help’s graciousness…
Truly, I’m earnest to depend on Your might with the Holy Spirit’s fullness.

Lord God, You are my Fulfiller of impossibilities
through Your prodding’s voice
Thank You for regarding me despite my low estate by Your divine choice
As I sound Your truth against deceitful noise…

Thank You for promising me Your reward for my labour-endurance
As I call for Your help along Your protective appearance…
Truly, I’m encouraged to sacrifice for You by Your compassion’s forbearance.

Lord God, You are my Fulfiller of impossibilities
through Your oath’s grant
Thank You for enabling me to stay within Your power’s covenant
As I commit to You my days as Your steward and servant…
Truly, I’m surrendered to follow Your leading, since You’re my Commandant.

Premium Member My Home Is My Refuge

My home is my refuge, my castle wiggly whee wiggly woo.
I love being here the best with my cat and doggies of two.
My husband thinks it is his place, he is a lion in this den.
Walking around with big paws, but a gentle giant which is a win.

On weekdays it is just my husband and Sophie and Buddy our dogs.
They take naps and watch tv and rarely walk down to the bogs.
In the summer I am home where I used to chant, drum and hug trees.
Older now, I sit on the porch and watch creatures fly by on a breeze.

We are surrounded by wood soldiers, who keep us safely intact.
There is a tractor next door that goes prr prrr trick track and tract.
The guy who drives it is an epileptic who is not allowed to drive cars.
He spends the summer prr prring this tractor around, Mr. McLars.

There used to be cows next to the fence which I thought was keen.
But McLars’ mother moved them to another farm, not ever seen.
She has dementia now, so I rarely see her outside anymore.
But we used to have conversations, which I would always adore.

The other neighbors are not friendly, but this is okay with me.
I spend my summers doing what I want – usually painting with glee.
Every day an adventure, as I do exactly what I want and nothing else.
Age has earned me the right to put my “have tos” way high on a shelf.

The Unfathomable Depth

The lunar orb has shed its mystery,
The Martian tract is now the goal of man,
No more distance is a word of glory
And no more is space beyond human ken.

Yet the chasm between man and man
Grows with every gust and every breath,
Down and down the solitary den
Man sinks and builds his lonely nest.

Man has fathomed the earthly planes,
Man has scanned the the atomic lanes,
Nature has he tied to his own needs,
He can boast of unlimited deeds.

Yet man is to himself a mystery,
His own heart is a boundless sea,
Where conflicting waves rest and roll
And reflects the the light of the soul.

His soul is an unfathomable depth,
Where neither winds nor tempests ever blow,
His soul is of such an immense breadth
That no learned bard can ever know.
