Forever a Poet is listening to the wind, eerily calling to him,
wanting and waiting for her to begin…
Forever a Poet she beckons to him, gently sending songs to the mind…
Teasing for a taste of his tantalizing wine… she writes her love in a rhyme.
Licking his lips with her fingers tips while he whispers these sweet lines…
Leaving beads of wet through intricate nets, hoping he can feel her again.
Forever a Poet is listening and the juice from her pen is glistening
Yearning for the touch of his hand, burning inside to understand why
It’s Forever a Poet in her dreams at night
Quiet and shy, just barely there, came a Poet Forever who wrote to dare
And quietly sly with the utmost care, came Forever a Poet with a passionate stare.
Listening to the Wind, eerily calling to him…
Can you hear me tHere in forever, Poet? We began. ;)

Snowflakes adorn blurry morn, gently, gently trickling down
As salted streets are turning brown across this weary town
While tilting trees blow wheeze of breeze in throe of snow
In aerial dance of wintry woe, as tips of twigs sun rays glow.
Driving slowly, traffic is moving, blinkers brightly turning on
As somber day, bearing yawn, is awakening bleak and drawn
When kids thrilled, frolic and build, a snowman on their lawn
Celebrating school closings on this messy, dampened dawn.
Peering scenes tinted gold, hushed romantic gazes behold
Fixating on meadows bold, where pristine paintings unfold
Delighting in the glowing blaze that brightens daze of malaise
Appealing to zeal of morning, blushing haze in emergent rays.
A deer ambles besides her fawn, exiting her quiet hideout
Curious to scout how leisurely strollers are sauntering about,
Ruminating sunshine while darkened clouds are phasing out
As bluing skies, sparkle eyes, illuminating zest of astral clout.
Beyond foothills, tall cliffs sigh, scintillating in sapphire sky
When far from here, climbing up high, cerulean motifs vie
As cobalt imprints horizons amplify, where birds merrily fly
Announcing to the receding storm: it’s time to say goodbye.
When daylight quivers on melting mound of thawing ground
Amidst whispers swirling around, muffled wind’s hissing sound;
Golden glints thrill, glistening hill, tinting the landscapes blue
Refracting puddles in ornate view of glinted beams’ opal hue.

Placed 1st: In rhymes sublime poetry contest--by Joseph May
i do not notice the peeling white polish on my nails. the blinding mirror has betrayed me once more and now my body wants in. i now bite my nails but i do not notice its bitter tang—my eyes are paralyzed to the screen as it dissects me; it is the first to forsake me. the mirror is false. in the scrutinizing eye of the camera each imperfection seizes the spotlight; beneath all layers of falsity—the smudged eyeliner, the thick lashes, the sharp-smelling nail polish—lies a pathetic 16-year-old girl who can only pray for a way to fix her face, her body, her smile, her laugh— she can only lay motionless as she gouges out her stomach with the hope that by morning, appetites will become nothing more than a myth. the mirror cannot help but lie when the little girl engrossed in fantasies of magic, greek gods, and the idea that she could become anything now cannot see further than the hand-held mirror inches from her face and the honed blade of the tweezer tips gripped between her mangled fingernails that lay like salivating wolves ready to pounce on the next blemish— the mirror cannot help but lie.
I have asked before, though you may not know,
About how to deal with the difficulties you strain me with.
My own adventure for my true soul has begun,
And so I must make all a witness,
Or the proof will be my execution, and I will not
let my ancestor’s shacklers hold me down once more,
years of lost maidenhood that I will protect through my will.
And so I turn for advice on my self-discovery.
I ask one of my trusted,
Querying endlessly on the matters of my heart,
Oh how I want to crush it under the weight
Of the world, all I want to carry at your feet.
I shortly resort to hatred, petty and undefined,
worse than weak in its nature.
My trusted’s breath lies heavy on the mind, weary,
And they say to lead with the beats, and I must follow.
To which I note. Any internal protest at the future betrayal, of which
I know I will commit, comes quick and leaves quicker.
I ask my lawyer,
I ask of how to leave the thought of you behind,
And I ask another and another
And another and another
And I am scared I have destroyed my adventure,
As I stare into my reflection and do not see my true desired
When your name leaves my lips,
And the word from my very tips,
The ache grows too strong to supress.
And I have worked hard for my soul,
But the thoughts surround and consume me, blackening my mind like coal.
So if I must leave my heart behind to not depress,
I welcome the prospect like the widest gates of heaven.
I hate you, the you that does not know I have fallen,
And the you with the voice of songs and the spirit of angels,
The eyes of prisms and the warmth of hearth mantles.
I am leaving you behind, and as much as you magnetise me,
I will transform on my journey, and I will no longer orbit you as my soul gains the mass of love.
Forever young, bubbly and happy
You found that secret formula
Working your charm for tips
In the best of upscale resto-bars
Where clients indulge in micro vacations
Longing to pamper themselves
You never fail to enhance their experience
With your generous luxurious smile
And that natural glitter in your eyes
You make them feel like
The outside world no longer exists
There’s no hiding or denying
Your exotic trips have tinted your charisma
Your long lavish hair complements your youthful heart
You’ll never give in and get old
Voracious traveller and lover of life
There’s no job you’d rather do
Than greet this classy crowd
You have the party hostess flair
The gift of reaching in for the pearl
And getting the best of people
With your charm it’s the challenge you love
No one walks away forgetting your smile
Untouched by your contagious love for life
It lingers with them like an intoxicating perfume

I guess it’s good to look unique
Or have a special glow,
But when one’s face makes her a freak,
It’s something she should know.
Like Michael Jackson in his prime
Who couldn’t see the truth,
The “tanning mom” has wasted time
To get back to her youth.
Forget about her kid for now –
The way that mom appears
Is worse than movies that allow
The ghouls that conjure fears.
Why someone’d do herself such harm
Is way beyond my ken,
Although such models of alarm
Come forward now and then.
A little tan can add allure
But when one tips the scale,
The mirror should reveal for sure
It’s better to be pale!
Eyes stuck open - of angel in the mud -
Skies cry soundless pelicans in flight
Panicked Santa Ana winds shake tips of entangled feathers
An ambulance ignores this stop rushing for a human
Heaven in distress aches bloody, distorted sunsets
The child in me is missing her winged guardian
Vulnerable darkness falls on the grieving beach
Levers smooth reality.
One can't even tell apart purity from mud
I build white castles and move in
So tides would come and take me to Atlantis
They say it is a weightless city,
where crippled hearts totally recover
and anemones teach you how to bloom
when oxygen of soul is scarce
...and one becomes a legend in the storms...

if flowers write about love storms
and the moon obeys the heart’s blaze
would you, O Dawn’s King
become my forever flame ~
the wild-blue fire,
finger-locking our besotted souls…
aching obsessively to taste
the sacred warmth
from the Asclepius arms
of Cephisesus’ spring river
ricocheting and reflecting
the burning desire we breathe…
and I listen ~ in amatory silence,
to your voiced whispers
the slow, soft velour laughter
as you caress my sky
with poetic phrases ~
igniting this ink to release
blooms spooned with fervent sighs
lines linear against
the hysterical history
of hurt without healing…
but if only the petals
floating and
frolicking in the wind
could empathize
with how my lips thirst
with flares of jealous heat ~
wanting desperately
to be the trembling skin
the only zephyr
that touches your smooth silk fever…
O pursuer of pressed passion
my reason to remain alive
relinquish into the orchard
of rooted, clandestine utopia,
where I savor the luscious liqueur
spilling from the titillating tips
of scribbled Shizuka ~
kiss me when the sun sleeps
feel me when the Venus stars awake
dress me in dancing darkness.
I will be the violet spark
to your electromagnetic light…
take me beyond time
eviscerate the
evil threads of illusion
unchain the steel of
our imprisoned pages,
let the words flow as one..
for my heartbeat now
is the sober mirror to your pulse
nevermore remembering
the final glimpse
of an irreversible ending…

The Visitor from Outerspace came down from the Cosmos.
He'd been traveling in a glittery saucer.
Decided to drop in on Earth to take a look.
Wondered if he could learn something new
Or give some help to humanity.
He represented a highly technological community!
His fellow space-beings had good tips for humankind.
On technology and all sorts of life-saving medicines.
So he secretly visited humans in a simple pair of jeans and a tshirt.
Just tryin' to look like a regular guy,
One of those Earthings who aims to fly high.
Everything went well, and people liked him.
But someone noticed his spaceship.
It looked like a UFO, so people were fearful.
They plotted to study the creatures within.
People saw opportunities to make money,
Producing expensive pharmaceuticals,
Taking the Spaceman's land, colonizing it
Putting him on exhibition.
But this Spaceman or Visitor from the Cosmos, whatever he was
Had only wanted to help Earthlings.
He wanted to teach them something new.
About technology and helping one another.
Living in planetary peace and saving the galaxy.
Too bad Earthlings focused on making money.
This Cosmic Being realized war was widespread.
He realized that Earthlings might not be so friendly.
They'd probably want to colonize his planet.
After hearing the news on TV, he realized he had to leave.
Before humansput him under the microscope.
Thus, he made a run for it.
Taking off as fast as he could!
His UFO shined brightly.
The door opening.
And the Extraterrestrial
Beamed up onto the spaceship.
Then he flew far, far away into the vast Cosmos!
I still wonder if extraterrestrials are out there
And if they would like to collaborate with Earthlings.
I suppose the blows from
your dark fist gets softer
with time spent running
for my life I mean your
face seems to fade a little
bit more when I’m sitting
in mass or singing in the
choir tears always roll just
thinking how god must’ve
felt watching you blungeon
my back always my back
remember you rushed behind
pretending you were giving me
a big hug and brutally crushed
my chest with your bare hands
what a gifted batterer watching
my injured breastbones pertrude
on my sides but twisting my
arm was the worse only because
I got to see the way your tongue
hung your mouth like you were
working on a car trying to remove
a stubborn bolt when a loud pop
there you got it my arm hung like
slinky the blows I suppose are a
bit lighter now overtime I mean
useful tips tea bags dark glasses
I still have no feeling in the dent
in my back where that giant stone
landed my doctors treated with
gauze cellulitis infection nerve
damage I always felt the blow’s
should someday become a bit softer
over time I never waited around
to see your response not the
last time I fled it finally sunk
in that you was actually going
to kill your wife if I stayed it
would be my fault that you
murdered your own wife
I would be the blame for my
own murder so I ran and ran
even today I look over my
broken shoulder wondering
which one of my broken bones
or bruises were your most
triumph which one of my broken
bone made you feel the most
victorious over me which blow
made you feel like the champion
wife beater I’m numb wondering
what’s goes through your mind
after seeing me broken bruised
by your powerful fist crippled
emotionally weeping disabled
afraid clutching my children
tell me how tell me true just
how would you rate your most
famous most memorable blows
