Redrum

Murder for a jar of red rum
We were shocked and stunned
death for as cheap a price as that
the "perp" must be a real dirty rat

Rum, rum, I murmur
catch this killer and he'll go no further
we searched for clues
and await tips as we muse

Finally we get a lead
it was the man who always wore tweed
we had dusted the jar's lid
and caught the culprit, yes we did

never odd or even these
cases keep me on my q's and p's
it's never dry and cut
like a tuna roll or a nut

Joseph, your style is very much like mine with your palindrome! I also did a nonsensical type poem on someone trying to kill someone. I like yours. Have you read Stephen King novels? He is fond of placing characters in rooms with Redrum on mirrors in old mansions!!
