Would Shakespeare have liked free verse now, not before?
Should Hamlet sound free, instead of rhyme, which we adore
May Poe have written The Raven in the same odd, magical flow?
If words had not rhymed artfully in poetry crafted so long ago
Clever poets proved their skills in a great rhyming scheme.
Depicting moods as Escher did in his popular 'Scream'
Wasn't philosophy authored by René Descartes?
In terms of mind-body dualism thinking smart
when you drift off on a meadow that is green
focused upon a colorful nature scene
White clouds float across the sky.
pondered why birds may fly
you understand that you just cannot deny
But if you did, I reckon it might be the biggest lie.
that Shakespeare's verses, as well as Poe's, were used from the
start
are striking - inspirational diamonds as they are - almost everyone's
heart
My sleep breaks every morning when I hear
the first chatter of a couple of playful pigeon,
from their nest made outside the window near,
I know it’s time to get up, take the new day on.
I see a slice of sparkling sky through the window,
emerge from the veil of night as the dulcet dawn,
changing color by minutes from gray to yellow,
as the sun slowly rises up the halcyon horizon.
My heart then seeks the morning ritual not new,
of the uplifting feeling in the brimful bone-china cup,
the hot comforting embrace of the reviving brew,
as from the welcoming bed I listlessly lift myself up.
I enjoy the various types of tea and their progeny,
herbal, green, brown and even rousingly spicy,
get delight from the flavor sonata in the sip of glee,
as with the flight of steam the specks of sloth flee.
Gaining pure pleasure from the convivial concoction,
I see the dance of leaves stirring the elixir of the tea,
infusing the Himalayan fragrance in the elite potion,
as I taste enthralled the famous Darjeeling delicacy.
The aroma of the golden liquid awakens my sense,
and into irresistible drinking desire it drives me,
turns me into an addict of its pleasure hence,
enthuses me to drink every morning a cup of tea.
She grabbed my hand and turned it palm up
Stated the obvious and read leaves from a cup
A sigh came from her heavy breast
I thought I’d offer her a test.
I was married, I began, to a woman, not a man
An eyebrow raised as she formed a quick plan
You’ll marry again, written in your palm
I wasn’t excited, but remained, strangely calm
Revelation after revelation; this woman’s good
At stating the obvious, just as she should
I looked intently, asked will I have a child?
Definitely more than one, her eyes were wild
You’ll live in a mansion with a wonderful lass
You’ll meet your soul mate, I’m not being crass
Children will fill every spare room
Laughter will echo, love will bloom
The soothsayer, finished on a positive note
I crossed her palm and put on my coat

Tea Alice?
For the vessel

My tech of nology is some what limited
Even when I try to get things printed
But to transfer pictures is testing me
Failed to connect keeps harrassing me
Tech of nology is a crazy puzzle
Has tied my mind into its muzzle
To think of a plan of what that might be
I decide to make a nice cup of tea
But impatient am I or a fool I may be
I begin to embark my challenging journey
The memory card will not work
And bluetooth is making me feel like a berk
Do I confess and give up now?
Or carry on with my prowl?
I take a deep breath and count to ten
I will win this and transfer them
I remove the card to check it's ok
Then put it back in, but the wrong way
So here I am with this new struggle
Stuck it is, oh I'm in a muddle
A needle, a toothpick I did apply
The tweezers I know, I will give them a try
My choices of tools I was desperate you see
To win back my card my phone kept from me
As I pulled and tugged as hard as can be
It shoots straight out into my cup of cold tea
Fingers dives in and fumbles around
To my relief the card quickly found
A blow on the card and a gentle shake
Come on card give me a break
Placed on towel paper to dry
A warm blow from the hairdryer next I try
More thoughtful this time I insert the card
But no it's still just a bit to hard
I cuss at myself for being so silly
Win I will, I'm a determined Milly
Finally inserted I am ready to go
I press the buttons but alas it's a no
No pictures was found they are lost in the sea
By the mug of my cold cup of tea

The kettle's on...
I'm thinking about the good old days as I begin to write
Thinking about my younger years, when the ground was colored white
After I was done playing in the snow, my mother set for me
Two brownies with some chocolate chips and a cup of sweetened tea
I always added a dash of cream to lighten up the taste
But these days, I eat just one brownie, I've got to watch my waist
Pouring the water...
The smell of tea just hits home, but I must prepare it right
Two teaspoons of sugar and a dash of cream but never all too light
Sipping...
Ah, that first sip always tastes so good,
it truly warms me up
And usually before I'm finished drinking it...
I'm thinking about a second cup
Another sip...
Tonight, I'm dipping in my tea, some peanut butter on white toast
Growing up, and still today, I love that combo most
Another sip...
I love to stay up late at night, drinking tea and watching flicks
And when I'm done and all hyped up, canoodle for some kicks
Last sip...
Well, it's getting late, so I must go now...
As I sip my last taste of tea
Besides the fact it's getting late...
Got to hurry, damn it... ((I've got to pee))
The pedestrian kettle steams on to the Capitol pyre
With a weight watcher tonic; more lean legislators to sire
The Grand Old Party a taste of the aromatic brew doth require
Medicinal tonic blended to alleviate bloating gout of every Democratic squire
Preferring their watered-down, generic brand, constipated digestive tracts go haywire
The savy financiers sit on the sidelines in their cozy markets ignoring the taste test flier
The partisan grit clogs the filter producing a quagmire
The vitriolic ingredients boil over causing a rancid fire
The billowing smoke rises and streams to the patrician choir
The generic master brewer in his white house stews in the demagogic mire
Commercial winds sweep in fanning the flames causing the heat to reach dome's spire
The regurgitated grounds spewed forth to every intoxicated shire
Democratic gainsayers scare the elderly that the side effects are so dire
The rest of the squeamish plebians in their depleted hovels continue to sip their Common Roast with ire
It's party time again, my furry friends!
Come see the pretty table set for you!
With cups and saucers, teapot- my call sends
an invitation- now come all, please do!
Quick came two Tabbies, one Tuxedo cat,
and our sweet Border Collie, I call Sam-
along with Teddy, who so quickly sat
and growled, "Yes, I am furry too- I am!"
They pay attention to the tales I tell-
to entertain while we all sit and drink.
I know they like my stories very well-
they look at me with happy eyes that wink!
Oh, I'm so very happy when we meet-
enjoy our teatime fun, just them and me.
Our cozy gatherings are such a treat!
I share my love with them- not just my tea!
when the plug is pulled
some of us will drain
others remain tethered
left contorting in pain
I wonder in earnest
how else we adhere
there are clues in the dirt
and the dead stares of the deer
white space in the sky
promised us room
but all spaces are full
so we wait in our tombs
the dogs persist milking
their devilish deeds
whilst salvation diminishes
due to miniaturised steeds
there are cages and castles
a whole skyscaped procession
but I'm too deeply entrenched
for detour or digression
out on the lawn
(in the absence of storms)
the answers are spelled out
in finely topiarised forms
with brushing and patience
I untangle and re-knot my tresses
to wear in plain sight
my shielding headdresses
I do cast a shadow
not all of us do
though the odds are against me
and my chances are few
transmutation circled
yet I still toe the line
persisting inexplicably
in search of my kind
I cannot be hurried
though birds fall and are sinking
please do not disturb me
I'm thinking, I'm thinking
I idle alone
draped in assorted skins
I'd lay bear traps for thoughts
rather than welcome them in
I trust in the safety
of being part of the herd
a friesian pelt promises
reality is deferred
mapped from this spot
is a three-step transition
stand, fall then rot
I won't break with tradition
there must be logic
to aciniform wrapping
I'd figure it out
but I'm too peaceful napping
