Premium Member Clasp of Freedom

caught in an octopus’ arms

rip tide of tentacles

underwater currents

the black ink indelible

syphoned protection

can’t see the circling sharks

in my cocoon of false shadows

a surreal embrace

suction caps in action

in surprise

that it is me who

holds on for dear life

a fairy tale because a dolphin

comes to my rescue

until I glow in the dark

disentangle my fear

make friends with an imagined foe

condense spray into light

dissolve and reflect on

what could have been if I

had not been at rock bottom

not caved in to the pressure

sometimes life sheds its meaning

in dubious squirts

allegories and metaphors

until you dive in murky gloom

and take a tight squeeze

decompress on ascent

accept inklings of surrender

Premium Member Happy Dar-Day

A Dar-Dar delivered, a wonderful creature,
Arriving by yak after talks with a preacher.
Wrapped up in a blanket with little instruction,
Some suction required through keenest deduction.

A Dar-Dar’s a brilliantly small woodland sprite
Instilling both fear and great gasps of delight.
But before you know it, they’ve done fully grown,
Magically producing small sprites of their own.

These Dar-Dars are likely to range far and wide;
Reports say in Utah’s where one can be spied.
October is always a time to acquaint;
They’re oft drawn to ponies all covered in paint.

Wherever you find one, it’s always the best;
The dad of a Dar-Dar is a man truly blessed.

Premium Member Thankful Squirrels

We have some squirrels that we love to see
which seem to be part of our home.
They run back and forth from our old Oak tree
and feast at the self-service dome;
to find food- there's no need to roam.

The plastic feeder with suction holds fast
to our sunroom window where we
can sit through the day enjoying the cast
of squirrels and birds that are free
to come- joining the eating spree.

We watch their drama almost every day:
each one standing guard for a turn-
at times with the stress of having their way.
 They flee, and this can cause concern;
yet, when the fights end, all return.

The squirrels rank top in chains of command;
the birds all must wait in a line-
except when a Blue Jay flies down to land,
all give up their pleasure to dine-
or pecked as a stern warning sign.

With squirrels, we stand up close, very near.
They watch us while eating their feed-
accept us fondly without showing fear;
seem thankful we honor their need-
and show that we've done a good deed.

            *********

Perhaps it was never love—
just a fipple of breath in velvet dusk,
a suction of names unspoken,
burnished by the stygian hush
between your glance and mine.

Perhaps the ossuary sang first—
an aria of alabaster bones,
each note a necrotic lullaby.
We writhed in the molten ache,
palliating truth with ephemera,
inveigled by the aureate hush
of what we dared not name.

Perhaps this is the Desideratum—
a triptych of sacred forgetting,
Lethe in a chalice of dedication,
The hex of hope is still undulating
beneath our slack-jawed silence.

Premium Member Cries For Healing-Need

"Lord, grant Your divine healing..."
This is my spirit's plea
Now that I'm confronted with my Dad's groaning angst
While he writhes in pain, struggling to express himself
Here in the Intensive Care Unit which is his haven this Christmas season.

"Lord, your miraculous healing is needed..."
This is my soul's whining
Whenever I see my Dad's agonizing response
Toward seemingly endless needle pricks, catheter changes, suction insertions
As he strives, yet suffering, to seek relief.

"Lord, pour out your healing that's merciful..."
This is my constant prayer
Since my Dad's afflicting blood sugar count
Along unstable blood pressure rise
Oppresses him grievously midst laboured breathing.

"Lord, Your gracious healing* is besought..."
This is my humble cry
With faith in His power for my Dad's health-restoration
So as to recuperate from his stroke
Toward praise-filled thanksgiving and joyous homecoming.

*Luke 9:11 ... He (Jesus Christ) received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.

Disarray

Is my room in such disarray
That I'm not even seeing straight?
Are those dust bunnies wearing candy wrappers as hats?
Their building an army, I'm under attack!
They start to charge towards me with their toothpick swords
holding shields made of buttons and whips made of extension cords
They begin constructing a catapult made up of popsicle sticks and a wooden spoon
One by one the dust bunnies shoot across the room
Ducking every attempt to hit them with the broom
I bet I can suck those little buggers up with my trusty vacuum
Their little cries are covered up by my suction tool of death
I hope you bunnies enjoyed your last breath
I will keep my room clean I promise you
Now I am aware of what dust bunnies can do.

Callous

Amerikkka
Amerikkka
why so passive aggressive
Let's play the 50
Allow me to break the ice
Now check it

I think I found my calling
My great ancestors calling
The war horse is out of the stable
Serving vengeance in that kitchen
with a rusty soup ladle
Racism been on the table
But it's never discussed
It's time to snatch the life
right outta the elite wit no suction cup
Why bluff
when you against all odds
I'm aiming for the bullseye
But this ain't darts
If you ain't apart of the solution
You a part of the problem
Why everybody telling me to calm
down like I give a damn
That the government's watching
Going hard for my people
Like I'm on cialis
I know I made the watch list
For being callous

Elements Meet

East sea capricious invites frolickers
          Lose all resolution fighting her euphoria
          Entry to her anger ensures exit involuntary
          Megalithic Pacific mounts with power superior

          Eruptions, edge gumption propel folk
          Nautilus chortles her lapis lazuli laughter
          Thrill pulled paddlers contest for echo evoke
          Suction eroding floor swept compulsively faster

          Monstrous Nemo swims rhythm erratically
          Elevates victims in lifted lemonade chamber
          Elixir tips her fizz in eyes, ears unapologetically
          Tumult assault sends sand spun fun to ocean chasers

A catastrophic tornado on a path of destruction,
hit Barrie, Canada July 15th at 230pm, Thursday;
high winds took roofs, and trees like a great suction.
windows blown out, vehicles overturned, debris filled the streets.
All the people could do was hide in basements and pray,
after dazed homeowners were already talking about reconstruction;
people wandered in shock at the scenes of total disarray.

Whit wet Vetted Splendour...

Pervaded mounded jeweled ground
gunmetal sky incessantly

asper staccato round

arhythmic, emphatic, melodic sound
