No one knows how it feels
To be perfect, to be without sin
No one knows how it is to be faultless
Flawless, the finished work
God is still working on each of us
He isn’t finished… we are not complete
When we are whole, without imperfections
We’ll be there with Him, in a home called heaven,
So sweet that homecoming will be!
No one knows what it means
To be perfect, to be impeccable
No one knows how it feels to be exactly
What He made us to be, entirely whole, exact..,
Totally unspoiled, blameless and sinless
God is working on our hearts and souls
Filling up our holes with light that pours forth
When we smile, when we cry, when we try
Light that like liquid hope, raining down through us
When we need to share our love, our gifts, our dreams
Everything that stirs up the wonder and peace
That God has inspired within our souls, our spirits
No one knows what it means to be perfect
No one who has ever lived has experienced this feeling
Except for the One He gave us to be the sacrifice for sin,
The Savior, the man, the king, Jesus Christ…
The reason I love and live and give, the reason I am…
Certain that this light pouring from my spirit
Is a light that began when Jesus Himself turned on the spigot
Warming my heart, filling my soul and showing the world
That His love is forevermore. His love is an open door
His love is the reason I know… Perfection is a word
Only Jesus can truly know or understand or represent
Only Jesus knows the meaning of completion
Only He could say the words, “It is finished”!
I slipped into the land of never
sometime ago
a land of nothingness
pitch black night, tormented
a beleaguered mind
all the time.
Caught up in cobwebbed thoughts
hope was lost, torn and tossed
whirlwinds of doubts
never to love
never to hope
never to dream.
Sometimes, I have heard faint
bell chimes, melodious rhymes
reminding me of hopeful times
that echo out from the
canyons of long ago.
Sometimes, I think
I can escape
the land of never.
Lately, I have dreamed of
a land of always
and the sometimes
begin to fade away.
I determine to climb out
from the mire of never
and venture forth toward
the sweet music of always.
As I leave a trail of doubts
behind, I move onward
toward the summit
of those melodious chimes.
The road leads me to
a rugged cross
high upon a desolate peak
where a blood stained
sacrifice was made.
Here I stand, on sacred
ground, here in this land of
always, where I have
always been loved
always been forgiven
always been cleansed.
Here is where I will stay
as I look forward to
that day, when I will
always be with Him.

His day had come, and so He went and prayed.
The woes of all mankind upon him weighed.
His brethren slept; He knew what would befall.
His enemies conspired and did not stall.
A midnight kiss, and He would stand betrayed.
First seized, reviled, then stripped and flayed;
A scarlet robe on broken flesh then laid,
He bore the brutal cross and drank the gall.
His day had come.
A final breath. . . . the sacrifice was made.
The land then quaked. God’s sorrow was displayed.
The Son in linen. . . . on the earth a pall.
But in the sepulcher, His final call –
To conquer death! Man need not be afraid.
His day had come!

My convictions refuse to give any of my poetry’s limelight to horoscopes or the like because these go against my belief in the Son of God, the Word of God and the grace of God. Because I don’t believe in horoscopes, and actually am against them as they are sinful and against God’s instructions, I won’t be using the title chosen by the contest sponsor. I do love Silent One though and will offer my poem as a reflection of that love, even if it is omitted from the contest because of the title. God bless you all.
“We are all petals of imperfection sharing the same sun” - Silent One
Tears fall quietly,
Remembering the heart’s seasons,
Glistening through the skies,
Like the richest purity,
Twilight bleeding into songs,
Meant to bless, the heal, to say…
Heaven is but moments away,
So we wait, on bended knee,
For the joy that we’ll soon see,
Joy beyond what we might dream,
Joy alive, like the sun’s glow,
Like the moon’s slow climb,
Like the moment He was mine….
Tears kiss my cheek,
Dewlike and refreshing, aching,
Expressions of faith, hope, love,
The silence of a clear, cool night,
Abiding in the soul who knows,
His love just grows – it grows and grows,
Serene and satisfying, spiritual sanctions,
Erasing the fears, the tears, the years…
Before I was sure that what I am feeling,
When He is with me, when He reveals Himself,
Through the bird’s morning songs,
Through the firefly’s dance in the dark,
Through the effortless music that invites…
Hearts to hear the trees as they talk,
Souls to feel the grace who speaks soft,
Spirits to taste the love that stirs hope…
Tears glisten on my heart, flowing,
As the winds pick up speed, rushing,
Toward the moment when I first believed,
He is the One who made light so I see…
He is the reason for my heart’s peace,
He is the reason for my soul’s devotion,
He is the reason for my spirit’s praise.
Tears never let go of the way they can say…
Though so imperfect, my love – I will pray…
Beyond my flaws and failures,
Beyond my many imperfections,
There is a story of God’s Son creating a hope,
Beyond what I might have expected,
A faith far greater than I’d ever predicted,
A love that is alive like the fire living inside…
Because He created my best life…
Because He became the sacrifice,
Because He surely is the bread of life!
I Have fallen in love with you
I have fallen in love with you
what should I do.
My heart is in race
what should I do.
I have fallen in love with you
what should I do.
My heart is restless
what should I do.
In my dreams every minute
i just see your face my love
There is a beauty in your unique styles
Why won't I die for these styles.
I am ready to sacrifice my self for you
You be seated in my arms
I am crazy about you
I have fallen in love with you
what should I do.
My heart is restless
what should I do.
If you look at others
My heart burns in deep
for having your love days and nights
My heart is racing deeply
My crazy heart is telling you
that it is hard to make a crazy person understand
how can u know that i am thinking of u every moment
I have fallen in love with you
what should I do.
my heart is restless
what should I do.
The restlessness is telling me that
These distances are very difficult
Birds, my beloved, foreigners
Now how should I live this moment
I have this request for you
My life is only with you
How should I live without you?
why my heart wants you this much
that without you my heart stops beating
its so many days that i am trying to stop my craziness.
but again it tries to contact with you
i want to see you right now
you should know about my hearts feelings
because i keep having this feelings, i will be crazy soon.

Take me to the mountain of hope
Where I can find a place to replenish my soul
Take me to the mountain near the sea
where I can spend quiet time with thee
I want to breathe fresh air again and
Rejuvenate the youthful years with my friend
I want to walk upon sturdy rocks and scream
Across the ocean with all the energy I’ve got
Come and climb this mountain with me
and enjoys beautiful scenery.
Days have gone by and I could not see what
Was waiting for me but I had the feelings that
Something was going on and one day I would
compose a blissful song, one that will recapture
the memory of my stolen youth
and make the universe happy and submit the proof.
It will sell more than a hundred million copies
And move the world in another dimension
When they catch the rhythm of this blissful song
I cannot compose it on flat land
and I want you to understand
it is the musical arrangement that goes with
the words that will create the perfect verse
And if the rhythm is right, nature will
Fill the hills and valleys with it.
And saturate your mind and body in it.
Take me to the mountain where I can see
What is happening to thee, there is trouble
Hanging over your head and the universe wants you dead
Oh what profanity has taken over the world
I have the perfect solution to redeem your soul
Go to the mountain and gaze at the stars and watch the
clouds as it dissolve into the deep blue sky
it has a special pattern that the naked eyes cannot see
and only the artist can highlight it for thee
Hold my hands so that I can stand and look straight in the sky
And you will see what is disrupting the order of the sea
Two hearts make merry but only one will tell the story
Of how we bore the pain to make the universe right again
Meet me before noon so that we can talk things over before
Your emotions spills over; you have got to get it right for we
Have made too much sacrifice, everyone is waiting for thee
so change the tune and take them through this ecstatic moment in History.
It has to be done to clear the way and appease the younger generation.
Climb the mountain of hope and refreshed your cumbersome soul and nature will make your whole.
A somber sight, these young men marching to war,
Forced at such a young age, to fight and leave their parents from their shore.
For many their fate remains the same,
Dying before life's prime, or going insane.
All due to another man's orders,
They will lay in piles of mud and gore.
One man's greed is another man's grief,
Forced to fight and sacrifice at the whim of those powerful and rich,
Forced too young to understand the weight of what they do,
Forced to shed their blood over petty disputes.
Forced to carry the hopes and dreams of others,
But who is forced to carry theirs?
Those left to carry the weight of their sacrifices,
So many will lay to rest in tears.
And the world will not care or stop,
All because of others' lust for power.
And so the young men march to war,
But with each march, a mother weeps.
A father must send his son to die,
Forced into the hands of evil he cannot deny.
And every mother hopes and prays,
Her son will survive another day.
Forced to sacrifice for another's greed,
The young men sacrifice what they cannot afford.
I lost myself in reaching for the sky,
I buried my dreams in shadows nearby,
I rejected myself at a remarkable dawn,
I found myself when you were finally abandoned.
Maybe I craved the way you used to utter my name,
Maybe it was nothing but a spiteful game,
Maybe you knew exactly when to pause,
Maybe it was all just a tremendous noise.
I am in a field of blooming cherries,
It is truly a remarkable phase.
I reach for a long-cherished, unknown wish,
Plucking a forgiven gist, only for it to wither.
The field is an astounding desert,
Where I can barely survive.
To live here takes audacious courage;
To pass by it is an incredible damage.
I want to let all the blooming cherries know:
When you blow in through the window,
Won’t you ask the plucked one whether its petals still glow?
Won’t you let it throw my heart in with the flow?

Mother’s Smile
by Michael R. Burch
There never was a fonder smile
than mother’s smile, no softer touch
than mother’s touch. So sleep awhile
and know she loves you more than “much.”
So more than “much,” much more than “all.”
Though tender words, these do not speak
of love at all, nor how we fall
and mother’s there, nor how we reach
from nightmares in the ticking night
and she is there to hold us tight.
There never was a stronger back
than father’s back, that held our weight
and lifted us, when we were small,
and bore us till we reached the gate,
then held our hands that first bright mile
till we could run, and did, then flew.
But, oh, a mother’s tender smile
will leap and follow after you!

Love has a gentle grace
by Michael R. Burch
for Beth on Mother’s Day
Love has a gentle grace; you have not seen her
unless you’ve looked into your mother’s eyes
and seen her faith
—serene, composed and wise—
that you’re the center of her very being
(as once, indeed, she carried you inside.)
Love has no wilder beauty than the thought
that you’re the best of all she ever sought.
(And if, perhaps, you don’t believe my song,
can your mother be wrong?)
When I look at you,
I pray that I don’t lose touch with you
When I look at you,
I prey upon happiness and I never knew
That you mentioned me in your dorm
When I look at you,
My mind wraps all around you
When I look at you,
You give me a natural high,
But it’s only temporary…
When you wake up,
I pray that you had the best of dreams
When you wake up,
I prey upon your energy and
Soar like an eagle in the sky
He watches over me as years pass me by
Our friendship is too good to be true
We’re so lucky to have each other…
Weep no more, for your name is carved in my heart
There shall be no more death…
Bitter, worthless clouds spill out remorse –
Depart and be gone!
I’m waiting to say “greetings” to you
I don’t have the strength to fight the battle
Endless thoughts spiral in my head
Making me feel awfully dead…
Many things are left a mystery for a purpose
When I look at you,
I pray that I don’t forget your name
When I look at you,
I prey upon your joy and I never knew
That you mentioned me in an optimistic way
When I look at you,
My mind is overflowing with delight
When I look at you,
You give me a natural high,
But it’s only temporary…
When you wake up,
I pray that you have the best breakfast
When you wake up,
I try to prey upon your glory,
But you swim away like a swan in a sparkling lake
I wanna give you good advice…
I don’t wanna roll the dice…
I don’t wanna be a living sacrifice
I wanna throw away all of your pain
I’m trying my best to reach the finish line
It’s hard to forgive the words you utter
It’s hard to forget and forgive yourself
For the wrongs you’ve committed
My mouth kept running like the sink water
And my mind went numb and you seemed to be bothered
Pick up the shards of glass and show me some direction
I don’t know where to go from here…
But, I must keep a positive mindset
I’m not attempting to get you upset
When I look at you,
I feel that I’m invisible
You see right through me
And I reflect anguish and confusion
Have mercy on me and don’t be frightened
Disappear, thoughts of sadness
Reappear, thoughts of gladness
When I look at you,
I see…a joyous, gorgeous face and
I sense that you’ll have a bright future
Just keep shining...with all of your might
God is near your side...leave behind all worry
Don't you know that you made me taste your glee?
