Like an emotional affair

I thought I knew you inside and out
But all of this is in doubt
The distance between us has got bigger
The lights within have got dimmer
When was the last time we shared a cuddle
I fear the relationship is in trouble
When was the last time we had mutual passion
And both had satisfaction
So little affection in any way
Respectfully told to stay away
An excuse, a reason
Feels like relationship treason
What ever I do what ever I say
Peaks the inevitable dismay
Regular communication comes to an end
Becoming harder and harder to pretend
Sadness appears in every direction
A feeling of a hard rejection
A deep and sudden loss of connection
Body language shows a deep infection
Guilt written on their face
Wishing they were in another place
Secrecy becomes a new normality
Losing sight of reality
Hiding your daily battle
Every spoken word opportunity to squabble
All actions irritate the mind
I still do my best to be kind
Your fears flow from every pore
One day you may return to adore
You have changed from head to toe
Any moment your going to blow
A deep fracture in the foundation
Of this uncontrollable situation
Any opportunity to block out the truth
So I become an amateur sleuth
The fear of the unknown is palpable
Every shared moment is valuable
Always a fight to be seen
In this odd new routine
Always competing against this thing
Kept out of your inner ring

I wish I could fix these issues
Instead of being the one holding the tissues
My fear for you runs deep
Trying to keep my pain asleep

An emotional affair, no.
This is the nature of chronic illness

Dog Confession

I can hear beyond the human ears,
Long before danger has a chance to come near,
Waiting and watching over all I care for,
I am able to observe and see so much more,
I seem fairly simple and yearn for affection,
Yet, I don’t let this get in the way of ensuring my family’s protection,
Give me a bone and some extensive space,
I’ll be occupied for hours and let none of it go to waste,
Put me in a predicament where I must hunt or retreat,
And watch as my paws move to an undomesticated beat,
My ancestors are warriors and their blood runs through me,
I will be your best friend and defender until we reach eternity,
I will comfort you when you’re sad and the world has been unkind,
For a man’s soul mate at times is hard to find,
Please refrain from putting me in degrading dog shows,
For I was born to be part of the family not feed barbaric egos,
When man uses me to fight for their own personal gain,
It enrages my feelings and makes me insane,
I long for a mate and would like my own pups
So please don’t waste your money stitching me up
When summer is scorching and my coat is too thick
Water me down so I don’t get sick
And please do not dress me in tight silly clothes
It makes me feel violated, restricted and exposed.

Retail

I want to have a go at the retail business but I just don’t know where to begin, I have the concept planted in my head and a plan that runs on a straight line leading from main to the divine.

There is a tree that is lying on its path anD it only comes out in the dark it lies quietly across the tracks and if you go near it, it will snap, bites and throw bottles at you.

It will knock the door and toss things on the floor how much longer must one endure the fury of this age old infrastructure,

It has broken tracks and has committed terrible sins, it has the conman’s spirit and a self-centered habit, it treats you with disdain and everything you do is in vain how long will it remain on the track? Nature will decide that when the angels gather at river at the end of the day.

I heard a strange knocking in the middle of the sky and watched the universe scattering fragrance over the old woman bed as she runs with the burden of death.

With eyes open wide she holds the crucifix in her hand and utter the final song. "It is well with my soul.” She slouched over on the bed and her journey came to a quiet end.

The rover rolls silently in space spreading the remnant of dust all over the place, the earth with all its misgiving collects the dust to atone for the heathen sins.

The coroners were at hand to tell the family that he was sorry and there was nothing that he could do to save the old woman shoe at age ninety-two the old woman finally kicked off her shoe and the coroners drape white linen over her face and wrapped the body tightly and take it to the crimination cemetery.

The track was finally cleared and money was released to work on the track again. A private company came in and replaces the dollars for their sins. Everyone could travel everywhere and the markets were open far and near.

The retail vision came alive and I finally got the resources to start a new company to keep everyone alive.

TORTURED HEART

With tortured heart and hollowed soul
and head hung deathly down,
his feet cemented to the floor,
guts spilt upon the ground.

His blood runs hot and cold alike
betraying his commands.
his face the shade of rage and shame,
crimson and cloaked in his hands.

Sullen and silent he will not deign
to speak her name aloud,
as new reality staggers in
neath desolate dark cloud.

T'would not ease the pain of jagged gash
where heart once beat in chest.
Nothingness has no end or cure,
yet lives at his behest.

Embracing endless emptiness
is all that's left to feel.
Combing over memory lane,
forbidding wounds to heal.

Premium Member Campfire Tales

Sitting round the
campfire
the men told each
other tales
as the night went on
each one
became more
elaborate by turn

Tales of whoopers
that got away
a few night time bed
stories
of this and that
very lush ladies
they swopped some
hunting stories

As the fire started
to die down
thoughts turned to
spooky things
headless horsemen
and the like
chilling in the dead
of night

A sharp crack of a
branch heard
making them all jump
a mile
torchlight shone
through the tent
the last of their
company now here

He was a born
narrator as he told
of the grey wolf
that prowled
how the Native
Americans said
to hear or see it
meant death

Just then as if on
cue, a howl
then they realized
the narrator
was no longer there,
just vanished
into the night air
leaving nothing

Spooked they settled
for the night
next day in a hurry
they packed up
when they got back
to the town
they learned the
narrator had passed

On his way to join
their camp out
he had been hit head
on by a truck
and had died at the
scene of the crash
his ghost narrated
the story last night

joining them for one
last time
before departing for
the after life
now when ever they
hear the howl
a shudder runs down
their spines

Snowflakes swirl of white in different shapes
round and round full of spirit they can’t escape
falling, falling from the blue vault of heaven
draping the cold ground
Everything vanishing in white never fearing
twinkling, blinking, and sparkling
clinging and hugging the trees so dearest

Our eyes light up smiles spread over our faces
Mum helps to bundle us up warm
from head to toe so we won’t get numb playing in the snow

Bentley barks, spinning around wagging his tail delighted to join us

Soft snowflakes kiss our faces oh so gently
as we lie on the fluffy snow
flapping our legs and arms like wings
while Bentley runs around ebulliently licking our faces

Springing up to our feet, throwing snowballs intently

Roll and roll as much as we can of the snow
stacking three –high building our snowman
Big and small black buttons
For a mouth, eyes, and its tummy,
a small rose plum it looks so dumb for a nose “Oh so funny!”

Holly pinned to a felt black top hat for his head
Bentley tugs to tighten a red woolen scarf around his neck
Oh what a delight Mr. Red Cardinal decides to alight
on Mr. Snowman’s holly to peck on the red berries

Lost in the Dark

Lost in the Dark

In the depths so deep
Lost in a realm of sleep
Subconsciously aware
Lost in all despair

A sudden cold breeze
A feeling of unease
Awakens all senses
As your body tenses

Grappling with your sight
Awakening flight or fight
In the deepest of gloom
Within your solemn room

Engulfed by nightmarish fears
Where this abyss appears
Your imagination runs wild
This chasm so beguiled

In the darkness shadows take form
Your eyes deceived from the norm
Mystical, terrifying at the same time
Your imagination in a new paradigm

Darkness encircles everything
Of what your emotions bring
Within this twilight so stark
When you are lost in the dark

Blacklight

I can see the black light burn
run in time to the rage of the rhythm
of ages, all is covered in neon dreams
suicidal screams, my pain, n rage
are my own. I feel it like black light
in my eyes, in my brain, it bleeds
the edge of my humanity
it's the scars or my secret shame
my internal war
Heaven light falls not upon my sands
I live in the blackest of nights
huddle around a burning black light
pushing back the folds of time
I’m not myself
it bleeds into my mind the past
a war of the insane
all falls distantly into a drain
I am my pain, my strife of rage
my insanity, my profane
oh, come my sacred rain
wash away my soul
as the black light burns
runs, the light reflects nothing
no more all is gone lost
evermore nothing
nevermore
on follies shores

The neighbours went off on their yearly vacation,
Off to visit some foreign nation.
Leaving me keys and a list a mile long,
To watch their pets. What could go wrong?

The rottweiler is a gentle soul
As long as there's always food in her bowl.
The trick is filling it as quick as can be,
So you need to be fast, faster than me.

The birds take pride in emptying their dishes
All over the floor, and then there's the fishes.
So there's food and water and then food again,
Making sure there's enough to last until when

The next day begins and we start it anew.
I'm told there's a cat. Really! Who knew?
If there is , it certainly keeps itself hid.
It's like playing hide and seek with some little kid.

Walking the dog has become quite a chore.
She sees the leash and runs for the door.
After being dragged two miles the walk finally starts.
The dog is immense, she should be pulling carts.

Back to the house and the hide and seek game.
If there is a cat, it doesn't come to it's name.
The birds are now staring at their seeds on the floor.
I refuse to refill the dishes as I head to the door.

So this daily ritual will last another week
And I'll keep trying to win the game of hide and seek.
Thank goodness their vacation only comes once a year.
After watching the pets ....I could sure use a beer.

It is that, that of the predator to which runs the wild.
That to which roams the mountains wild.
It is the cry you here in the night.
Not just that of the hunt but that of which is a cry for life.
It’s there in their heart to which the spirit takes control.
To which they live to kill but love with honor and control.
It is that of its instinct to survive as they fight with fierce.
It is of their life they must survive as they find that mate and run abroad.
It is of the spirit to which cries loud.
As they play in the meadows grass running wild.
It is of his survival in life to which he finds that one of a howl.
That of a growl as he howls in the moons from mountain sides.
That of many journeys he stands in the journey.
As he has lost love from that of the pack and his heart cries out.
It’s there they run the prairies wild with spirit guiding them through.
The wolf’s howl and growl as you hear the cries.
It’s that of death but survival they strive.
That of many howls the spirit soars free.
As you hear them ring out them canyon walls.
That of hurt and love to which fills the air.
But that of great beauty do I love hearing their howl.
But that of the wolf to which stands with pride.
It is that from with in the wolf stands to survive.
As without heart there would be no life.
But in him, the spirit soars free as he is dedicated to forever love in life.
