Happy 211th Birthday Charles Dickens

born February 7, 1812,
whose living descendents
I would be thrilled to befriend,
hence if anonymous reader
by some genetic fluke
linkedin to said
prolific storied author
please kindly reciprocate.

greetings mutual friend,
hard times dash
great expectations in this bleak house,
whereby battle of life ensues
when Sunday chimes
from master humphrey’s clock
issue somber american notes
invoking overshadowing doom
from young gentlemen:
oliver twist, nicholas nickleby, barnaby rudge
martin chuzzlewit, david copperfield,

young cricket and on the hearth little dorrit
collaborated on pickwick papers
with dombey and son detailing
how I (a haunted man/
ghost’s bargain) alias mudfog
got self absorbed in his old curiosity shop
hunted down by boyhood days
(akin to an endless Christmas carol
frieze as child’s history),
now a thick dust covered holiday romance
memory portraying this signal-man

(according to george silverman’s explanation)
eerily similar to the mystery of edwin drood,
exiled after his trial for murder
birthing three ghost stories
inhabiting a haunted house
affecting the young couples lamplighter
an uncommercial traveler
evidenced by pictures from italy
prone to speeches, sketches
by boz and his lazy tour
an oft repeated tale of two
cities best read at dusk.

Detachment In Attachment

My mind fluttered its wings for its journey
towards spirituality at my adolescence,
as childhood was just study and play
while daily morning prayers a dull ritual.

In my teen, I used to wonder
about attachments towards relations,
the angst of separation when they leave and go,
the pain of parting made me ponder
'why do I feel pangs of despair,
that feeling oftentimes of being ripped off?'.
Reasoning for realization of self must have
started at this point when my mind
first fledged for its flight towards faith.

Yet, my prayers to God at that time
were more customary and insincere.
To be honest, I was not honest,
and when I closed my eyes to pray,
like a pendulum clock - my mind oscillated!.

My mind wavered for reasons many:
giving too much love to my loved ones
for, I had too much love to give,
expecting them all to reciprocate it,
when it actually Never happened Ever,
Or a situation that led to parting with them
Continued to haunt my tender heart.

Thoughts matured too, as mind matured,
in my twenties when I happened to
decipher the verses of 'The Gita'
which is my holy religious book,
through which I came to realize:
'To be detached with loved ones
by being attached is a way to
control and realize one's own self.'

Though I have not mastered the verses of 'The Gita',
the message of the book does shine
and reflect in my mind crystal clear.
I trust 'The Omnipotent Power' above us,
that guides and loves us all impartially.

Through the light of my life's experiences
and the light that guides me from within
my spiritual journey continues.....

Premium Member When Madness Rides On Moonlight

Days pass into the weak, loveless nights. The moon blinks.
The stars swirl beneath Van Gogh’s brush, as he links.
Comet light passes twisting cypresses, a schizophrenic’s concussion.
On and on, the wind twirls the trees, and does not complain,
nor, does the cosmos cringe awaiting reciprocation.
Lightning bugs mimic the stars. Atoms sneer.

Those who spout love and friendship abandon him, sneering.
Their images dance beneath his lids, when he blinks.
Though denied a compass, his soul does not reciprocate.
Through pain, physical and mental, he still connects, links
with the life which absorbs and excludes him, not complaining.
Nights pass without his mistress, Sien. His mind is concussive.

His face trembles torn in the brass sounds of the storm’s concussions.
The butcher, the baker, the candlestick-maker, all of them, sneer.
How unmerciful, this cycle, this God to whom he does not complain.
If lack of mercy is just, may he not know why? Time blinks.
Thinking causes pain. Only painting connects him, he links.
He accepts art and the pain, as gifts, choosing not to reciprocate.

Voices, the paint, the moon, the voices say, reciprocate.
He chases mice. The cheese plate falls with a loud concussion.
He rubs his gnarled hands across his lids. He maintains the link.
How? Why? But, the mice eating his cheese only sneer.
The sunflowers shimmer and wiggle in their vase, as he blinks.
Stumbling, he falls attempting to sit, the chair does not complain.

He had thought God clear as sunlight; yet, the paint complained.
He was not God; he could not capture the light. He must reciprocate.
After all, who was he, but a mere man, ashes to dust; life blinks.
Ah death, le grand mal, no minor concussion,
He must escape, join the celestial spin, and avoid their sneers.
Sick, yes, sick to death of not being understood, not linking.

The brushes call. He prostitutes himself. Oil spills, connecting, linking.
Theo, brother, never would he forgive. Many others would complain.
Ah, Gauguin, His dear friend, he would understand and not sneer.
If God was truly a loving God, surely, he thought; God will not reciprocate.
The mockers who did not live in Dante’s nine levels of hellish concussion,
they will call his actions cowardly. Merciless, they did not live between the blinks.

You make me feel

You make me feel

Boy, you make me feel
Like the luckiest woman in the world
You make me smile
You are charming ??
You have my heart warming
Like tea in a kettle
You are sweet
I love the roses and rose petals
You have me feeling like I've won a medal
Its great
You show up for me
Show out for me
And you never late
You never miss a beat
You are what I seek
For and I've been found
I like having you around

How do you ?
How do I ?
Describe
How I feel inside
I feel good , I feel great
To you, i appreciate

You make me feel
Feel so amazing
The sparks ??
I aint trading
I really think you understood
How to make me feel good
When I say good
Im not talking about relations
Im talking vibes , and vacations
Picking the small things that you've heard me say
Like Usher , you letting me have my way
Ok wait
I reciprocate
I give what's given
You know the vision
I can't hide
Its dope
You are my vibe
We vibing
I feel ya , you feel ne
No need of hiding

How do you ?
How do I ?
Describe
How I feel inside
I feel good , I feel great
To you, i appreciate

Bridge :
Feelings are natural
Feelings can be real
The question is ?
How do you feel ?

How do you ?
How do I ?
Describe
How I feel inside
I feel good , I feel great
To you, i appreciate
(Repeat until chorus fades)

When We Are Together

There is you then there is me
Together we should be
The arithmetic of love
2 is one when we
Your smile and your grace
My new found happy place
We don’t have to be a item
Having a friend that’s so great
I feel I found a counter part
Someone to reciprocate
Our paths crossed not by coincidence
I believe it’s fate
When you’re around it’s like your energy changes the climate
I feel my vibe rise, to an unfamiliar high rate
Heart beating out my chest I feel my body vibrate
You’re my good luck charm
I’m ready to raise the stakes
This chance if I don’t take
Would be my life’s biggest mistake
That’s why I’m competing for your heart
Like it was a race
U make me feel invincible
I’ll only accept first place
I’ll go with you anywhere
Especially your birth place
There’s so many girls who want to be in your place
Jealous cuz I only want to be in your face
When we held hands
I knew it wasn’t fake
Still me smile thinking bout the looks on people’s face
I hope you’ll join me while I take this leap of faith
Hopefully one day Ill see how your lips taste
While I pull you in close
A warm embrace
I fantasize about grabbing the small of your waist
If I can’t have you I’ll feel like I’m in last place
The thought of it makes me feel like I’m in my last days

FLORAL FERVOUR

Me a flower spreading romantic aroma,
eager to fall in love with rain shower
         kissing my petals from above.
Or wish to love a butterfly
         fluttering wings
       to touch me tender, delicate,
        Me sure to reciprocate.

May be in love with gentle zephyr.
           Shivered on its lovely touch
            awaking floral mind
        amorous fragrance to release.

           May be a Sunflower
                 bathed and blessed by Sunrays
gazing at Sun from morn to eve.
                    drinking solar power,
all day long bliss of sunshine to believe.

                            Might be a periwinkle
                                Lavender or with indigo hue
                                   Soft petals to twinkle.
glistening when wet with drops of dew.

Things I Wanted To Say But Never Did

I wanted to tell her that her presence brought me goosebumps
And whenever I wanted to talk to her I'll experience throat lumps
She amplified my testosterone as well as my dopamine
I wanted to tell her that and sweetly ask her to be mine
I even wanted to whisper in her ears and tell her the 3 'scary' words
I once almost suggested we get high and go stone the birds
The other time I was just about to ask her for a kiss
But her best friend then appeared and away ushered my 'miss'

I wanted to tell her of that scenario but thought better of it
I hadn't ever tasted her but wanted to tell her she's sweet
Our encounters were few but my feelings were much
I wanted to open up to her wishing she'll reciprocate with some touch
I wanted to tell her she's perfect and am all she now needs
I'd argue with facts for her to judge me with my deeds
I wanted to tell her that and much more for she was my crush
But every moment I held my mouth shut for she believed men are trash.

Tortured By Love

Confusion is all that we had ever known
To be honest, we never had anything
But when we were together
It felt like I had everything

You lived right down the street from me
But all you offered were excuses to me
I could feel it, that things had changed
But I still wanted to believe that I mattered anyways

You were doing your own thing
No time for me
Though I had loved you all of those
Little times in between
I used to pray
That maybe some day
We could be something more
Than just waves crashing on an abandoned shore

Just like the ocean
Receding, repeating
Had depth, yet in areas, shallow
Naive, I didn't know that love
Required balance on both ends
Unaware of the dangers in the sea
That I could love a man
But the man didn't have to
Reciprocate love to me

It used to secretly drive me crazy
All of the things I've never told you
So many things were changing in my life
When I just wanted one second to hold you

If you wanted me to forget about you
Then you should have told me to try
Because I had held on so tightly
And didn't even know why

Eventually I left what I had so desperately wanted
In pursuit to find something better
If you hadn't missed me when I was there
Why would I expect you to miss me ever

It's not worth the wait
Don't hold out your love for anyone
Who is not worth the chase
Or who won't even take the bait.

You deserve better than to be tortured by love.

Premium Member DORMANT DESIRES

Seeds of desires were sown as our glances met.
Emotive urge started to flow though hidden yet.
Wobbled heart got confused to manifest.
No way ! Shy silent love to hesitate.
Not sure, whether you will reciprocate !
Better, you might approach, I’ll watch and wait.

But I chose you as king of my little empire.
My passion was piercing me to ignite fire.
Unable to express myself, but I’m sincere.
I won’t suppress ardent ardour more, it’s clear.
I must drive away clouds of dilemma entire.
“The clouds parted like the pursed lips of desire.”
