There are many pieces of a puzzle,
we struggle to put together, which are like our Life pieces.
Each piece represents a special deed we do for one another.
Some times the pieces don't fit because they're in the wrong place.
If we take care to put them in the right place, they represent
a beautiful picture of what we want to see.
It can be a picture of Nature, Animals, People
or the smiling faces of children.
Puzzles when put together right, form a brillant story of
Life, just as in real Life. There are so many pieces, one
must watch with careful eye how to place them.
It takes so much time, some times a Life time to get
it just right. Some do get it right, while others don't.
I'd like to believe I got my pieces right.
Since retirement
I have gradually become more disappointed
with watching
and listening
to performers,
to on-screen entertainments,
to emotional yet disembodied hypnosis,
to vicarious fascinations
now suspiciously corrupt
Performance watching
becomes a cheaply vacuous substitute
for real life engagement
in compassion with embodied hope;
Or even social disengagement
in disdain
with chilling cynicism.
I feel drawn out of retiring
and into some healthy perspiring
in a fluid multicultural river
watering compassion,
Steering clear of a tangle of wires
and technology
feeding isolated despair.
Mindless entertainments
are probable on screen
and possible reading choices too
Feeling guilty as I age
leaving way too much
for future generations
to undo.
Too needy
and wounded
and busy protecting privacy
Projecting charismatic fame
to blame
and shame
for all my ambivalence,
doubts
dark nights leaning into fear
to risk more
than breathing through another episode
of Mary Tyler Moore
and more
USA middleclass white folks
entertaining
without engaging
Show
On screen time
is too much less
than Just Show Up.
I was one of the best leading men in Hollywood.
Many people thought my acting was quite good!
As long as Jack L. Warner said it was so,
I would be acting in many a diverse scenario!
They would have me playing a gangster or tough guy.
My great acting caught many a theater goer's eye.
Movie fans loved me in my appearance in "Public Enemy",
when I smashed a grapefruit in a woman's face for all to see.
Those were the usual roles from the studio I would get.
However, in the forties, my best part would come yet.
I won the Oscar for portraying a real-life song and dance man.
who was known on Broadway as George M. Cohan.
After that, I received many an offer and demand
to play many lucrative parts! Life was surely grand!
In a fifties film I starred in that played in many places,
I was Lon Chaney in "A Man of a Thousand Faces"
My last starring role was as a man with the Coca-Cola company.
This was in Billy Wilder's film "One, Two, Three".
In this film, I got myself in plenty of hot water
where behind the Iron Curtain, I lost the boss's daughter.
That was the last film for me for quite some time,
until I appeared briefly in the picture "Ragtime".
Waiting for my knight in shining armor to come calling for me.
As I glance in the mirror on the wall, a flawless princess I see.
He's late! He's late! For a very important date...oh where, oh where is he?
No worries. He is throwing pebbles at my window now.
Standing outside my window, he recites sweet poetry aloud;
lip-gloss and perfume check; I yell, "I'll be right out"
I open up the door to a bouquet of red, long-stem roses; oh so very pretty.
He put his leather jacket on my shoulders; he said, "come, take a walk with me"
What happened next is something I just could not believe!
Well, our walk ended on the beach that day; our lives were just beginning
On bended knee, he looked in my eyes and took my hand; my head started spinning!
He said, "will you marry me?" and then he put on the ring.
Standing on the beach, his leather jacket on my shoulders; tears masquerading as rain
I said to the man I love, "of course, I will take your name."
oh my, what a dream ....i hope that when I get big, real life is just the same.
You know, can you imagine life of some
Not chosen but for few their choice
Life's weakening priority of mankind's being
Even in themselves they fight like another
A real life struggle to structure existence
Before our eyes we see evil among hearts
In ourselves, given up the goal to creation
Lost in new generation full of chaos extremist
Standing for themselves and not agenda
A man who lives the world better the world
He is not just about himself but objective
Inside perfecting perfection though not perfect
Seeing everyone is same fighting the dream
But making change in us the world turns
One must be willing to accept life what it is
It's a gamble win or lose we play game
Levels of poverty depending on success story
Me, rich in heart's love from God
Think God, only place we find peace is love
We must change our own to see purpose
Love exist even through hatred a kindness
Your weakness, love rules overall beings
But only you chose to fall to civilization
Stop the fighting, unity is living together
It's a dog eat dog world hanging on thread
Every man for himself in corrupt society
Hoping and praying for people gone insane
Life's Weakening, a lock only keeps honest man out
"Poetry is a life-cherishing force. For poems are not words, after all, but fires for the cold, ropes let down to the lost, something as necessary as bread in the pockets of the hungry."
— Mary Oliver
From the deepest whisper inside my soul
There comes revelations, who flow
Through broken words and bent phrases
Poetry who grows…
From my heart’s elation
From my spirit’s joy
From the night, darkness revealing
Secrets, silence, sensations…
Who awaken me from a deep sleep,
Reveal the meaning of true peace
Serenity that believes and sings…
Graceful as the starlight shimmers
Beckoning from the night
Quiet blessings, warm caresses…
The kiss of a moon who grows
Full into the nocturnal memories
From the breathless inspiration
Muse of my spirit – a stirring so revealing
Laughing through the purity, the penance
Poetry unrehearsed, a limitless supply of words
Caressing empty pages with stained and faded…
Thoughts who know…
It is life, real life…
Kissing the emptiness with a complete rhyme
Rhythms who hold the key to light…
Elegy darkening the abiding imagination,
The truth grows from a delicate prayer
Prayed by the soul who knows poetry…
Rises to share a heart, a soul, a light
Poetry is the place to come home to
And the place who is new with every word
Poetry is a life-cherishing force Contest Poetry Contest

I exist, though my presence feels seldom acknowledged. Fighting replays of tunes to woe is me, my own Ted Talk; that unconscious internal victims speech. At the same time I am holding a safe space in case I ever allow my heart to give myself grace.
Odd as it is true, I have been told people can easily get lost in my eyes, I don't even see them looking.. does this mean I have finally gone blind? I only see the bad, the ugly, the sad, and the future moments in which time has yet to have.
In the past I had typically nurtured feelings of loneliness, until real life taps me to come back. Detachment is how I have managed to survive. However in becoming an expert with that skill, I have unlearned the action of feeling good or even alive.
No matter how hard I try the shoe always falls off when life is feeling too high. I get a taste but never a full lasting fill of what this living is actually like. I am always holding my breath, crawling backwards up an endless hill surrounded by all the normal stuff regular people are so easily able to process and deal with. Still trying to figure out all the pieces I have to collect, to build a new shelf for my old program to sit and dwell.
It occurred to me in a moment some days ago, I don't have to run a play from a coach who never played pro. I really just need to sit on the bench until I am called to get up and act. I noticed I have a tendency to want to be all ten players, the coach, and the bat. Recognizing the things I cannot change using my GPS to try to find the courage to change what I can and tapping into the existing wisdom to know the difference between the two.
I was foolish to believe I got it under control when I am a tiny piece in God’s game of life, as a whole. I still have moments where I find it challenging to surrender my control. I want so badly to just do it all myself, but I have to remember to remember it is ok to ask for help.
What’s the reason of hate? To hide love?
All these feelings are real,
My mind manufactures only to be manipulated.
Afraid to love that’s why we hide behind “facts and language”?
If you’re tired of being lied to and you know it clap your hands.
if you’re tired of being fed a narrative to stop your thinking,
Can I get an Amen?
God is great, fear is a weapon,
Time to disarm the ruling class.
Basic needs of every human being, love, safety, and happiness.
Our resources have been hijacked, stolen, and being used to threaten. We are the people, and the people would gladly share with their neighbors.
Your land is my land.
The ones who seek ways not to share, scare instead console, turn lies into truth simply by repeating.
The world needs peace, and by god there’s plenty so everyone can have a piece.
Why are we so blind? Why are we so hesitant? The revolution doesn’t need to be a war but a realization that we are one by kingdom come as Earth as it is in heaven. Not everyone believes in the same religion but we all know god is real. Regardless of the differences in our stories and beliefs there is a common spirit of love, forgiveness, and righteousness we need to embrace.
This existence, a marvel of the creative mind, is to find ourselves living in a world of possibilities. The dualism of yin and yang creates a vast arena for personal growth. The viable stage of real-life experiences colors our time here and in the depths of Shakespearean melodrama that make up the days of our lives, dictating the value of a life that ends in death. Other entities that we share the details of this existence with, the life, love, and the path best taken to reach that perfect place, not an easy affair to work through the trials that make it all worthwhile. To break on through to the other side, where the finish line and loved ones patiently await our triumphant return!
Your love introduced me to the magic world
and awakened my spirit like sunflower to sun
led me to the garden of feeling and affection
where my days passed like dream and nights like wedding….
You taught me to enjoy the beauty
and unleashed the secrets of life's duty
With you I first sang the poetry of real life
With you my imaginations took its first flight.
First time I realized the true meaning and essence
and enjoyed the words like possessiveness, jealousy and passion.
You transformed my solitary life into happy moments
and filled the silence of every nights with music.
I lived in coma till the time I was in your heart’s ICU
And suddenly thrown out from the paradise of love to issues
Where the earthly life of luxury and money entice
I'm struggling for the rest of my life, hoarding materialistic things.
