Premium Member Paper Or Plastic, Sir

Standing in line at Wally-world I suffered through this exchange of views.
The cashier asked the man in front of me, "Which of these will you choose?
Paper or plastic for you, sir?" and with a snarl he said, "Plastic will do for me!"
Then he proceeded to proclaim for all to hear, the plight of the forest tree!

"Don't you know that cuttin' down all them trees will leave the forests bare,
Deprivin' them poor hooty owls of a place to roost - now don't you really care?
Just think of them dwindlin' rain forests that supports monkeys, birds and such!
But them greedy companies keep cuttin' and sawin' - they're so outta touch!"

The gum-chewing cashier looked him dead in the eye and had this to say:
"My old man has been a lumberjack fer twenty years and works hard fer his pay!
I don't give a hoot about yer owls, yer rain forests or yer ring-tailed monkeys!
I ain't politically correct and you can relay that to all yer tree-huggin' junkies!"

I clutched my loaf of Wonder bread trying to look nonchalant, staring into space.
(We were in an express lane - he had two full carts, showing his lack of grace!)
Should this get out of hand I expected to hear, "Cleanup on Express Lane Five!"
I was beginning to wonder if both parties were apt to come out of this alive!

Refugee Crisis Reported By the Bbc

A permanent fixture on the news
over here on the BBC

Is the Refugee Crisis so much so
it may just as well be given it's own
individual segment

And the general running theme throughout
is how we aren't seemingly doing enough
for them

Or treating them in the way or in the matter
they are accustomed to or were expecting
due to according to their human rights

But given that they come here uninvited
without any form of official documentation
and as a country we are struggling to provide
for our own

And yes i know what I am about to say
will be deemed by some as not being
politically correct or unemphatic

But whatever happened to that little
thing called gratitude towards your host
and not complaining about everything
and everything and nothing being good
enough

But hey then again I have to stop
and remind myself

They are all refugee's and asylum seekers

Wanting nothing more that just to flee
political repression human rights abuse
and the war raging in Calais France

And are willing to do whatever it takes
to escape and get here even if that means making the treacherous perilous
23 mile journey across the channel to
England in a rubber dinge

And put not only their own lives in danger
but their children's lives at risk as well for
want of a better life

And how bad must thing's be in
Calais France if none of them even
wanted or wished to stay

But it must have been worse than
whatever reason or place made them
escape or leave in the beginning

And obviously England according to the
news accounts coming out reported by
the BBC

Ain't much better either

Premium Member Once a Chief - Always a Chief

Indians, Chiefs, Braves, Warriors, Redskins and Vikings!
Seems the politically correct crowd is upset with such things!
They're disturbed that sports teams bearing such names are a disgrace,
And that they humiliate and debase the dignity of folks of any given race!

It just so happens that with the PC crowd I have a little beef!
I'm a CHIEF Master Sergeant and Once a CHIEF - Always a CHIEF!
I earned a most worthy title that seems to irritate that pitiful crowd;
Try to take it away from me if you dare, but I'm not so easily cowed!

Ever notice silly signs some businesses put up?
Like braille upon the restroom door and drive through banks fixed up,
In case a blind man happens by driving his brand new car,
And wants to use the ATM, they've gone a little far.

How can they read the braille if the way they cannot see?
If driving they use dog or cane or wrap around a tree.
I never saw a blind man drive or inch along a wall,
Looking for a restroom sign in restraunt, bar or mall;

And what's up with these crazy laws they're passing now I see?
A misdemeanor gets you jailed while criminals walk free.
I'm telling you the times have changed, things ain't the way they was.
Folks used to smile and show respect but not no more becuz,

They don't know where you're coming from, they don't know where you've been.
Right is wrong and wrong is right, they're trying to blend in.
I'm tired of trying to blend in, stand in my own defense.
Why can't the laws be like before and show some common sense.

Pass Trade Already
Do not waste more time!

It is fire and spit,
thin water and urine.
All lies from city folk.
The swamp smells,
it is dying.
No new water,
just the old cesspool inlets,
all the outlets, blocked.

Cockroaches running,
for the sides of the room,
but there is no trim…
to scurry beneath,
or under.
It has been removed…
Rotten with the passage of time,
and lack of care.

Termites eating “Our” democracy,
from the very roots to the high bows.
Crocodiles and alligators,
government entities,
joining forces to rule,
not voted in,
but brought up…
through the ranks.

Tyrants are not born,
they are created in the dark,
by those that are afraid,
and must build a Frankenstein,
to match a voted in...
Superman!

Wake up,
your party is not well,
it is in the last spasm...
of complete loss.
Folded by socialism,
betrayed by religions,
coddled ideas...
politically correct,
by the smaller percentage,
Benedict Arnold’ed by Pharaoh,
in favor of outsiders.
Not of home at all.
Making way for the elite to rule,
the small
and take the heads…
from the tall.

On the fence in indecision,
burning flags and screaming rights,
while accepting federal aid,
or living at home.

The mirror is evil,
it does not lie.

Author note:
I just watched a woman on the news crawling on the ground in Hong Kong for her rights... They are talking about living and dying. Human rights...
Venezuela is not better, they just stopped talking about it so openly.
The President is doing a good job for all of us, even if you hate him.

Premium Member Political Incorrectness

The politically correct nonsense of today is so very absurd!
The language of my native land has become so terribly blurred,
By those who devote themselves to concocting such inane idiom.
Such prattle is as puzzling to me as is the element of iridium!

Now, it's chic to refer to postmen and befuddled college freshmen,
As postpersons and freshpersons whether they be woman or man!
Even folks with sticky fingers are given a title deemed more proper:
A shoplifter is delicately called a "non-traditional shopper!"

The wino in the gutter and the falling-down drunken driver,
Are each tenderly referred to as a "substance abuse survivor!"
Even the Father of Creation is no longer referred to as "He".
Monikers like "Daddy", "She" and "A Being" were created by the laity!

The so-called social engineers want to sink without a trace,
Cheery "Merry Christmas" with ill-chosen greetings in its place!
After all, 'tis Christ's glorious birth that we commemorate,'
Not the winter soltice or some pagan rite to perpetuate!

Seems 'tis normal nowadays to blame everyone but one's self,
For problems and predicaments in which one finds himself.
I could go on ad infinitum on this topic but space won't allow,
But I reckon the reader will have perceived how I feel by now!

Premium Member Valentines' Day At Millville Grade School

As the autumn of my life approaches, some memory fades,
But I still recall very special times from my primary grades.
We did things then, now considered politically incorrect,
Enjoying Valentine and Halloween parties - no one did object!

The Valentine party was the social event of the school year.
Kids secretly expressed affection for that very special dear.
They deposited their cards in a box covered with colorful crepe;
Walls were bedecked with hearts of every size and shape!

Someone scrawled on the blackboard, "We Love You Miss Ruth!"
And below were scribbled the names of her adoring youth.
Valentines cost two for a penny in those uncluttered days;
A cheap way to express puppy-love in such endearing ways.

As the cards were distributed, secret admirers gave a shy grin;
Boys received saccharine cards much to their chagrin.
Miss Ruth served cookies, cocoa and chocolate milk,
And heart-shaped candies saying 'Mine' or something of that ilk!

Miss Ruth gave a special hug to every girl and boy.
Her love and care topped off a day of consummate joy!
I fear that the children of today may never again enjoy,
The simple pleasures I knew that today some vow to destroy!

Now I wonder if in this day and age where anything goes,
If children are even permitted their affection to disclose?
Or have the politically correct creeps decreed it ain't okay,
For kids to celebrate innocent love on Saint Valentines' day!

Dylan's The Times They are a-changing becoming prophetic
Crime escalating fueled by
Government interference and bureaucracy
Negating reward for achievement while
Praising mediocrity taking steps to insure
Self esteem for the misfit justifying
The politically correct
Now I wonder
Does the liberal perception of freedom emasculate us
If so take me back to a time
When James Dean was a rebel and heroes meant
Integrity respect and values now absent
In today's society
Lunch can in the corner
Daddy's home and supper's on
Hugs provided warmth that the old Heatrola
Could never match
Needle and thread resurrecting a sock
Making a pair again
Take a bath it's Saturday night and there's church in the morning
Church picnic in the park in the afternoon
Damn Damn Damn we never found Utopia
We gave it away

How far down do we go before we hit rock bottom?
When do we stop turning our heads the other way?
Greed and corruption have become acceptable
Is lack of leadership here to stay?

Politically correct, we cannot condemn
It wasn't sex, we didn't go that far
Was it like Donna Rice and Gary Hart?
That sure is close, but no cigar.

Now Bushman talks with a sarcastic smile
Telling all let freedom ring
He no longer wants to be president
He'll be satisfied when we crown him king

We are taking away incentive to achieve
And rewarding mediocrity
As long as we don't make anyone feel bad
Or let people see the real pity

Be politically correct, don't tell the truth
Don't offend the criminals on the street
Protect their rights and relinquish yours
Bow your heads and take it or feel the heat

Give up your guns, give up your rights
Give up your neighborhood
You have no choice, you have no voice
It's for the common good

If we accept and we do not fight
Then we deserve what we get
Our freedom will become a memory
And our anthem will be regret.
