Oh, my Beloved Africa
Why are you always so behind time
Why is it that the world always has to be miles ahead
For you to follow in the trail of dust they leave behind
Oh, my Beloved Motherland
Why is it that these sons and daughters of yours
Are always so eager to get up and leave
Why is it that you always only get to keep
...those whose thoughts are to beg and keep the obsolete
...of history from the worlds abroad
...which have nothing better than the makings of thee
Oh, Africa my Beloved
Even I sometimes get the urge to just get up and leave
But so strong is my love for thee
For it always anchors my spirit, here to be
Perhaps if you and I were to form an alliance
We would prove to the others
That indeed, even in Paradise dreams can still be achieved
We can prove to them that on the canvas of life
Anyone can paint whatever his heart may like
For it isn?t life that matters
But the reality of what you make of the opportunities it offers
Oh, Africa you truly are my deepest love
For you, in my heart is nothing but pride
But there is just one teeny-weeny bit of help I need
Please speak to Mother Nature for me
And ask her gently to lend me her scriptures of life
So I may peruse through to see if I can find some answers I seek
For I feel inclined to believe
She has a lot more acumen to offer
Than of the realities that graces the ordinary minds
Of her intelligence, I wish to spread to the extents it may prevail
So in speaking to her on my behalf
Please ensure to make clear of my selfless intents
So she may keep sealed from me the pages whose secrets she doesn?t wish
revealed
Oh, My Beloved Mama Africa
You truly are such a Great Mama
You have seen it all in time,
...and even beyond my time you will still continue to see it all as time strides
Truly, in me your roots run deep
For your were still here, when more than a thousand years back
...plans to have me alive were hatched
Son after father after grandfather after great grandfather
...after an endless series of other greater grandfathers in time
So why should I abandon thee when it?s finally time for me live
Just to show you gratitude for having me
...this life I live I shall on behalf of all before me dedicate to the benefit of thee
Every smile has a frown
In the life of a clown
We all hide behind painted faces
Our mind is our cell
Our own state of hell
Dreaming of far away places
We keep dreaming of free
Something we’ll never be
As our hopes drown in our fears
Our number is our name
Our life is our shame
Distorted by all of our tears
The years turn us cold
Over hearts we can’t hold
Our love is replaced by our hate
There is just one conclusion
It is all but an illusion
Because we create our own fate

Distorted by all of our tears
Our love is replaced by hate
Because we create our own fate
Just a ghost inside a "Homeboy Clown"

The conclusion is basically a rhyming Couplet
that has a non-rhyming conclusion at the
end of each stanza. At the end of the poem
the non rhyming conclusions must form their
own rhyming couplet stanzas with a non rhyming
conclusion that refers to the title. Note: The Couplets
in the first part of the poem must be even
numbered as to form a perfect couplet in
the second half.
The "Conclusion was invented by Michael Jordan

This was quite the adventure Michael
Surefooted, sure fisted,razor tough
If I should fight that war again
I would want one for the going rough
Like yourself,
Fair and fractured
When the friendship slough
No claim to be a paragon of anything
Just an average man in your own eyes
While I hoisted you like a kite
Above naseberry trees and bush
Above the gormandizing sea
Above the Compound's red mud
Carrying the archeological memory
Of man's life like a sud
A mere consequence of a theory's lie
It was your mating urge that first
Lured you into the systems net
Thereafter your life became troubled
Wandering around the wilderness of regret
Framed like a pirate's ghost
Stereotyped and labeled
I still do not think you guilty of their crime
Your demonization came before your destruction
And when you died
I cried and cried at such a useless end
My fearless friend would never be at my back again
But tears will water pain, and still brings nothing back.
My eyes gaze upon beauties before me
Fireflies dance upon the July air
In all their wonder all I can do is stare
With each flicker they come and go
Crickets chirp and call to one another
In such a simple life even they will find a lover
Moonlit shadows pass through the trees
Casting pale silver reflections upon my eyes
And so I close them to the star covered skies
The wind brings a chill as I lay in the grass
Time slips away while I lay still and silent
Midnight is gone but the dawn brings violet
With pink streaks upon the vast horizon
A soft dew sparkles upon a nearby lily
And a rabbit bounds by looking rather silly
It hops about full of joy and life
And I know that I am like that too
Full of dreams and hopes to pursue
And before me the sun has risen
And I too must rise with the day
Form:
Do I want the winter cold?
Or refreshing summer breeze?
I’ll still have one when I’m old
And living life at ease
You must choose wisely what you want
For I’m still pondering
Where and when I want to start
And don’t just start wandering
My life so far has been twisted and turned
With some parts not so fun
At times it felt like my heart was burned
With torches for the sun
Quite a few times I asked myself
“Where do I go from here?”
But, then I find myself asking God
And He replies, “Have no fear.”
For He is with me everywhere
Whether Carolina, Florida, Maine
He will guide me over there
Because we change, yet He stays the same
Form:
Central Village, ah bitter-sweet your love
The golden sunset above
The black smoke of sugarcane burning
And the boy on Twickenham's mead yearning
Sometimes again like flocks of birds in flight
Across the evening sky
Memory comes winging at the edge of night
And old men only sigh
For all life treasures seem in the past, gone
And every new dawn
Is empty, but of the world's weariness. My pearl,
My diamond in the rough was she
The troubled, bright eye, beautiful girl
I did not know joy she brought to me
Despite your violent lanes, broken fences
You showed me life without gilt and pretenses
