Deborah thinks I’m paranoid but let me give my theory a whirl
I believe we must be very weary of our little friend the squirrel.
Here’s an example: when Deborah and I walk in the morning there’s a squirrel in every tree…and I can’t help but get the feeling that they’re all watching me.
Oh, when I look at them they pretend to play…they run and jump without a care or fear
but I know…they know…I know they’re not as innocent as they appear.
And don’t get me started on the bird feeder…it’s where squirrels have the gall
to devise elaborate plans for reaching the food…so they can have it all!
I’ve even seen them work in tandem, one distracts me, I give chase
while the other climbs into the bird feeder and quickly feeds his face.
When I scare the one out of the feeder…as he runs away I give chase
while in the feeder…the other squirrel…is filling up his face.
They hang from the roof, they jump from the trees…somehow they always find…
a way to circumvent any defensive strategy I have designed.
It wouldn’t be so bad but, you see, squirrel’s don’t share their theft…
they will sit in that bird feeder eating…until there are no seeds left.
I used to believe since I am bigger than they are…I must be smarter too…
but over time I’ve come to realize…only one of those is true.
One final statistic. Did you know when all the counting’s done
It seems that squirrels outnumber humans…by a score of 3 to 1.
So tell me…am I being paranoid or am I the only one whose wise?
Am I as crazy as Deborah thinks…or are squirrels planning my demise?
As you make your judgement think of all the squirrels that frequent your life too
and remember it’s not paranoia….if it actually is true.
Life is full of “upsies” and “downsies”
When your “upsies” outnumber your “downsies”
You'll know coz you'll go around singing all day
If the reverse is true, you'll bite your neighbour's dog
Also best to hide all the knives
Lock your medicine cabinet filled with pills
And throw the key down the sewer
You can't be held criminally responsible
For setting fires in the mall
Or running nekkid through the streets
Yelling, “I want my Mommy”
So here's wishing your “upsies” are winning the battle
It's actually been a while since I did that
So they say there's still hope for me!

Point of View or Truth?
What is your view of politics? I'm sad, but dream there's more,
though politics says rhythm's plague, rhyme's rotten to the core,
and hope seems lost that world's worth spit! Can Right say Left is wrong?
Though snowflakes have their differences, what's True sings Nature's song.
Weak fashions trend and folks mature, but Truth ignores demand!
Truth's face may blanch (cracked shells line beach), but history's the sand
whose grains on earth outnumber stars in Milky Way's facade,
and ocean waves (1) grind finer still (while politics claims God).
Yes, Truth exists beyond the pale of what we dream is true,
its harmonies acknowledge God in all we say and do.
Do fascist friendly risk Hell's Fire who label Truth fake news,
conspire to earn more pain on earth, in civil court venues?

I have so many friends these days who want to believe that all Truth is simply one's point of view, especially political Truth, that what they want to think is as good as what anyone else thinks. So, to engage in debate is foolish! They also suggest that those who disagree with them are only attached to being right (and making them wrong)! That could be right, but what if their beliefs are flawed? How should one who hopes for Grace behave? Let me have the courage to confront a friend's perceived weakness with as much love as I can muster.
(1) "I do not know what I may appear to the world; but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the sea-shore and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of Truth lay all undiscovered before me."
Isaac Newton (1642-1727)
O Confederation of the West—
You were not born to conquer shadows,
But to outlive them.
Power is not noise,
It is silence understood by all.
You fear the bear in the east,
But he was your brother once—
Did you not share a winter once in Berlin’s broken breath?
Yet now,
You sharpen your swords
Where olive branches once bloomed.
He holds gas, grain, and grit—
Energy, the blood of industry.
Why then do you cut your own veins
To prove that your heart still beats?
Sun Tzu speaks:
> “If you know the enemy and know yourself,
You need not fear a hundred battles.”
But what if the wisest war
Is one never fought?
The greatest general is not he who marches,
But he who never must.
You boast of unity—thirty blades drawn,
But who feeds your people
As they choke on cold debts and hollow stomachs?
You send sons to distant deserts,
While grandmothers burn bills for warmth.
You say China is threat,
Yet buy his silk, his circuits, his steel.
Is this strategy?
Or is it ego in uniform?
The world no longer bows to gunpowder,
But to algorithms, hydrogen,
And trust.
Machiavelli warns:
> “A wise prince builds alliances with reason,
Not resentment.”
Do not call thunder to chase away whispers.
For in chasing ghosts,
You awaken giants.
Peace is not surrender.
It is the longest and hardest war—
Where patience is the weapon,
And dignity the shield.
So listen, NATO:
Conquer not by arms, but by architecture.
Let the bridges you build
Outnumber the bombs you store.
For in a world wounded by empires,
The true superpower
Is restraint.
GOOD PEOPLE OF EARTH
Where are we heading
With this mayhem, destruction, and killing
Is this what we call a civilized society
A look to the future can be chilling
GOOD PEOPLE OF EARTH
I know you're out there
You outnumber these maniacal tyrants
Let's band together, stage our own uprising
Make love a life long commitment
GOOD PEOPLE OF EARTH
The time has arrived
To rise up with a mighty big roar
Multitudes of us normal law abiding folks
Ain't taking this bull crap no more
GOOD PEOPLE OF EARTH
Hear what I'm saying
It's time to turn things around
Can't allow this debauchery to continue
Let joy and happiness abound

The Lord sits upon his throne
watching over his people that he
called to be his own
his hand is upon us as we come and go
and his love he always does show
no words can describe his
unfailling Love and his
Grace and compassion pouring down from above
he showers us with every spiritual blesing
whether we are near or far
he will bless your life imensley
wherever you are
he sings for us when we are happy
he weeps over us when we are sad or cry
so if you happen to glance at the moon or stars tonight
just take a moment to stop and say hi.
RO 1:11 I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you
strong-- 12 that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith. 13 I do
not want you to be unaware, brothers, that I planned many times to come to you (but have
been prevented from doing so until now) in order that I might have a harvest among you,
just as I have had among the other Gentiles.
PS 84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield;
the LORD bestows favor and honor;
no good thing does he withhold
from those whose walk is blameless.
PS 139:17 How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them! Amen.
PS 139:18 Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand.
When I awake,
I am still with you.
As I sail through this life, adrift, unmoored,
I wonder where the current will take me.
I know I'll have to traverse rough water,
smooth water, calm, even rapids on this journey.
I hope to find love along the way, along with
happiness and joy. I hope that the days over
troubled water do not overwhelm me nor
outnumber the days of calm. I want to see
the sights as I drift along, feel the current
on my feet.
I want to travel, to see nature,
to feel the breeze. I want to experience all
the wonders of this life. I want to spread
happiness and joy. I want to mean something
to someone. I want to create, I want to read,
I want to write, I want to see, to just be.
I want to soar with the clouds, sing a melody
with the sea. I want to feel, to touch
and hear everything I can before the killick
must moor me.
Well into the inky depths of night,
My breath relearns; the life urge returns,
Yet my own is of the least concern—
But all who would seek blind, the scourge of light,
And seek the sun pilfered from the very sky,
Stolen away and hidden by the Dark Magi,
Who aid the return of their hidden Master,
The most reviled and self-vilified caster,
What vengeance shall he bring?
Where, lo, the innocent dream, and nightingales sing,
What crooked hands bare the nightmare ring—
To wear and reek terror midst softest slumber.
In dream he may surpass and outnumber,
And become numberless like the shade
That blots the moon above the glade
Where kind memories were made,
As the sun cast down the gleaming rays—
Where now we fear the end of days.
Yet a glimmer shines; As tattered hope wanes
As gleaming soldiers rear the silver reins
Of the unfurling wing'd pegasi brigade—
Our heroes proud, our hopes remade
The rearing steeds rake the swirling shade;
Fearless riders charge the blackened fade,
Where swords clash flash sparks and ire;
There in the void danced the war afire.
And with mine own blade of hope so bright,
Onward and t'ward the fray, unite.
And in our whirl of valorous might
Rout the Magi midst cracks of light;
The low murmurs of thunder
That fill night,
And break the blight,
Of woe asunder,
Releasing the tethered sun
Back to the forlorn breast of heaven,
Felling that Master and his evil plot—
E'en now his whim be forgot
As I awake—
To the smells of fried eggs and steak,
The soft rocking of the houseboat atop the lake—
And none too soon: did we grant the weary their boons,
And catch ere the grateful lily maid as she swoons
For once more by valorous might the world is saved
Midst the cheers and thrown bouquets—
Further and further away the sounds of imagination raved.
And a youngly hero rose to wash his face
And saw his glad smile the moon mirror thought trace,
An old artifact handed down from a nobler race—
"Mikey, you better come and get it
Before your father makes his bedroom exit
And gobbles up the eggs and meat
And leaves but crumbs about our feet.
Hurry, hurry my sweet!"
Come hither and eat!
"Hither?!"
Mikey couldn't help but wonder
If he was still asleep.
We wait....standing time,
distant sound....bells chime.
Ringing twice....ringing three,
for you....or me.
Drifting fog....distant howls,
demons arrive....demons growl.
Chaos caused....friction ahead,
it's started....walking dead.
Graveyard risen....endless stare,
creeping forward....our nightmare.
Corpses strewn....new recruits,
some skirts....some suits.
Open arms....dead accept,
walking dead....living regret.
Gather weapons....discharge fear,
makeshift bunker....enter secure.
Silent prayers....deep breath,
moving forward....walking death.
Shoulder weapon....safety off,
squeeze trigger....rounds aloft.
Lead connects....rotting flesh,
creeping fall....repeating death.
Rising sun....ammo low,
walking dead....numbers grow.
Dead outnumber....living inside,
walls collapse....cannot hide.
Rifles spewing....final round,
backing up....corner bound.
Fate accepted....choice aside,
ripped apart....bloody tide.
Eyelids fall....blackness sets,
moments later....enter abyss.
Walking dead....numbers grow,
I've become....one also.
Creeping forward....endless stare,
soon becoming....your nightmare.
Days darken,
alien Martian,
a red desert the main and dessert,
silenced sounds sing "death surrounds",
as those spoiled souls
beneath the soil
follow for my blood sweat and toil.
No breeze, no trees,
an air so rough cut lungs bleed and breathe,
agitated rest that rages with stress,
no water to drink, no means to think,
sinking in meanness linked to weakness,
suggested thoughts to die digested
outnumber thoughts "you're being tested",
positive doesn't register at present,
denied that present,
sent and presented
evidence that renders my presence an irrelevance
with not an element of development
preventing the dark envelopment.
Measures to trail pleasure fail to find treasure,
no success and severed from leisure, it could only suck less,
leaking a fear so powerful the emotion of scared rejects an appearance,
no distractions or interference just distress,
no flicker of hope in the distance, an empty mess,
it used to be so different, less difficult more significant,
I walked alone to this world showing signs I can't
get back, it must be my fault I'm living this mishap,
I misread the map resulting in capture, life in a trap.
