AWAKENING
Sleep and slumber, dreams of wonder... weaving,
morning’s vacuum broke the spell
Pitted pillow, note of parting... leaving,
“from your friend, a fond farewell”
Sunrise throbbing, twilight aching... grieving,
daydreams, flashbacks, nightmares knell
Pale phantasms, visions sneaking... thieving,
plot to fill the empty shell
12 DELIRIA
1st Delirium: Collapses
Fractured sky bolts, billows bursting... rumbling,
heavens tighten, turn the vise
Horsemen saddle shafts of lightning... tumbling,
jagged highways must suffice
Ruptured skyways, hailstones crackling... crumbling,
naked pearls of paradise
Toxic tongues of laughter stinging... stumbling,
ocean buckets choked with ice
Droplets drumming, thunder muzzled... mumbling,
washed out whispers pay the price
Smothered blazes, cinders smoking... humbling,
ashes shaped in sacrifice
2nd Delirium: Descents
Asphalt alleys, ashen faces... frowning,
blowing bubbles, chewing gum
Drinking ale from tavern tankards... downing,
moonlit beads of painted rum
Stony stars and sea misshapen... drowning,
humble rivers’ rhythms hum
Apparitions aspirating... clowning,
diamonds dying , minstrels strum
Incandescent candles conquered... crowning,
vacant vapours, cold and numb
3rd Delirium: Fates
Tempest turmoil, tapered turrets... holding,
dungeons, dragons, chains and racks
Wheels of fortune, Tarot temptress... molding,
Hangmen, Towers, One Eyed Jacks
Sand dune castles, cryptic candles... folding,
warping walls of liquid wax
Idols colder, combed and coddled... scolding,
hide in fissures, peek through cracks

Hurricane
You crash ashore like a savage one-eyed lion attacking its prey. Hunger gnaws at your belly, the trip from Africa has been long. Wind like claws slashing and ripping, roofs torn from their moorings and flung aside like paper. Concrete and steel buildings assaulted and torn apart like Lincoln logs. Your voice roaring, torrents of rain fall like spittle from your massive jaws. Storm surges form from your massive size are kicked inland by your mighty paws. Your clear calm single eye gazes down in triumph.
you pause suddenly
it is only a short rest
more rage yet to come
With a frenzy you resume the attack. Broken gas mains shoot jets of flame. Partial buildings with broken windows like toothless old hags. Vehicles tossed about like matchbook toys after a child’s tantrum. Boats found far inland high and dry. Your appetite sated for the moment you move on in search of other prey.
after the raging storm
destruction is everywhere
we will rebuild
Face To Face
Face to face they sit...
brain to brain;
two-eyed flesh machine,
one-eyed blue
laptop screen,
interacting...
systems inputting,
outputting,
precious data.
Face to face they sit,
a complex team
driven to perform
with error-free
precision in a
controlled mini-world
ruled by the god
of technology.
Face to face they sit...
worlds apart,
stark and cold
plastic eye flashing
programmed data;
warm and sensitive
flesh eyes flashing
non-programmable
blue twinkles.

Hurricane Harvey landed his punches to the left of me
Irma struck with fierce winds and rain; havoc on my right
I escaped the wrath of those hellions ~ now there's Nate.
Nate formed in an unusual area, not known for brutal storms,
but he's coming for a visit soon. I hope he doesn't stay around
very long. I didn't invite him to my city, so he's being rude
by showing up this weekend and ruining everyone's plans.
I pray he's not as devastating as the evil two he follows,
but hurricanes do as they please. Wham! Bam! What a mess...
putting us all under stress.
He'll huff and puff and try to blow my house down.
He seems to be in a hurry cuz he's moving with some speed.
I'll be glad to see the tail end of him. A one-eyed cyclops,
a meanie and a fiend, who'll probably rob me of my power.
If you don't see me around, you know where I can be found...
sweltering in New Orleans heat because Nate visited my town.
10/6/17
She kept walking, kept travelling...
A Traveller by profession, she kept exploring.
With a pure and kindest heart inside her soul,
She was pretty easy to pick, easy to be fooled.
Her feet reached a small town,
Tired, she was happy to have it found-
And hoped for some water and food,
With her kind eyes, she now intrudes...
In a small village, with no roof.
She asked for some food,
If she gets, she will pay them good.
But All they did was to cry in front of her-
A pure soul, sang a song there,
Her heart couldn't keep up with the utter cries-
And she gave them what was with her, to see their eyes dry.
With everything given, she proceeded bareheaded and barefoot-
All she got was the happiness from helping those troops.
With sparkling eyes, she headed forward-
And saw an old lady, sobbing, cuddled up.
Not noticing the suspicious air around, she thus proceeded-
With nothing, but a body- bare and naked.
Didn't want to appear in front of others,
She ran to the nearby forest, in the southern.
She walked shivering, yet with kind gaze,
And met the forest demons, hungry and desperate.
She noticed, yet she smiled, as a mist.
She opened her arms, inviting them for the feast.
All she did was to help others, she did her job well, I guess.
In return, got nothing but more and more pleases.
She offered her arms, her limbs, her feet-
As she pitied the hunger of the demonic beings.
All that was left was her head, rolling around-
The last demon took out a kind eye and licked it, very much bound.
"Here is a gift from us demons" he said and flew away-
Leaving a piece of paper, leaving the one-eyed head for decay.
She rolled out her eyes, with the strength she had left with her-
To look at the gift the demon left as an honor.
'IDIOT!' it said, said the piece of paper...
Tears rolled from her eye; she couldn't feel more satisfied from her works.
"Thank you!" a mumble came from her mouth, and she smiled-
"It's my first return gift! Thankyou!" Were the last words that came from her mouth.
Her one-eyed head now rested for eternity, no more kind deeds to be done.
Ah, The cry! The song of the dead bird sure was a pitiful one.
Never heard a pure soul rest so peacefully in this world.
??????
When the storms came it was catastrophic
They came with cattle bashing hammers
Winds whipped up in ferocious tornado action
They came with the giant cyclops on their backs
Angry because of the extra visual acuity missing
They were wielding axes too to slaughter more cows
Revenge is sweet for one eyed beasts
No milk for you, you filthy animals
No hamburgers on a toasted bun
You meat eating savages with no regard for life
Human or otherwise. Shame on you.
Hold the onions and fries while I cry
Cows don't live inside because they hate you
Invisible forces blew through shuttered windows
When the winds came in it was with a vengeance
But there were no cattle inside
They had already died
Open ranges can be dangerous for grass eating critters
Weeks later new cattle arrived on the prairie
When the flying saucers came from outer space
It was worse than anything imaginable on Earth
Invisible forces drew each cow up one by one
In a line for the sake of efficiency
What happened next we can not say
But we began to eat hot dogs (the ones without the tails)
Do aliens really like cows more than people?
We wonder if we all taste like chicken to them
Once upon a time there was a sweet one-eyed gal.
She lived her life, alone, let’s call her Little Mal.
Her mother and father kept her in the dark.
They hid her away, and made her feel stark.
One-eyed Mal, in a one-cat-owned house.
Lonely girl sadly raised by a louse,
Except in her case it was not only one,
It was two, and life was not so very much fun.
When she was six she broke free of her chain.
She ran outside, and she danced in the rain.
The neighbors quickly saw and ran out to see…
She was a nice little girl, this one-eyed sprite, so wee.
The community took her in, and gave her a life.
Took her away from this horrible man and his wife.
She learned to love, and she discovered herself.
She learned that one-eyed gals don’t belong on a shelf.
She runs an orphanage for the ones who are hidden away.
She has a pet owl who brings them all swiftly her way.
One-eyed Mal, living her dream, thanks to a day in the rain
When she danced in the rain, after breaking her chain,
Moral of the story is easy to see, in a little bitty rhyme…
If you are miserable discouraged, or sad most of the time,
Then please break free, and fly, right now, yes, you, please do!
Life should be wonderful for you my friend, yes, you, Honey, YOU.
Unidentified spaceship spotted over Kansas field
One-eyed, antenna-crowned alien at the wheel
Cows stop their grazing to glance its way
ZAP! -- Nothing left in the field but bundles of hay
Wide-eyed farmers swallow the tobacco in their craws
As above crows circle madly, 'midst startled caws
The ship's underside glows orange, white and blue
The President's skin turn greens when it come into view
The pics now go viral, the USA's on high alert
While out in the field, farmers cower in the dirt
Then just as the aliens emerge from their ship
My plane lands-- I wake up: It's the end of my trip
Once at my lowest, yet I stride,
With the poise of a boss, I take my pride.
Light beckons softly at the tunnel's end,
In lands of the blind, the one-eyed man ascends.
I need no admiration; the draw’s reversed,
She sent her photo—a sweet smile rehearsed.
Alone in my thoughts, I zoom in to affirm,
A flicker of joy in memories I confirm.
Coolness is common; to be awesome, a quest,
Crafting my stature, ever striving for the best.
If shadows consume me and I vanish from view,
Know in this journey, it’s been kind knowing you.
In public applause, true worth remains concealed;
A man’s quiet actions are the fruits revealed.
“Changed,” they say, as the winds carry me,
Yet it’s change that has shaped the core of me.
You once spoke of hearts that cannot align,
Yet she loves me, a truth I define.
Oh September, grant something to own,
As I dream of cigars on a yacht, all alone.
In this realm, all are gangsters, bold and brash,
Until silence falls and timelines clash.
Some will dismiss, their judgment in tow,
But I care not for those who don’t wish to know.
If I wrestle with fate in the murky tide,
Assist the croc; be on its side.
"What do you do?" they inquire with a hook,
“I give my all,” in every nook.
A gentleman’s touch will never grow cold,
For kindness and honor, the stories unfold.
Once love ignites, friendships fade away,
In memories linger the words we can’t say.
Do you sense the shift, the loss of your spark?
Reflections unveil where dreams once left their mark.
In the tapestry woven of joy and despair,
I rise with the dawn, breathing strength into air.
