Notes About The Poem

Face To Face

Face To Face

Face to face they sit...
brain to brain;
two-eyed flesh machine,
one-eyed blue
laptop screen,
interacting...
systems inputting,
outputting,
precious data.
Face to face they sit,
a complex team
driven to perform
with error-free
precision in a
controlled mini-world
ruled by the god
of technology.
Face to face they sit...
worlds apart,
stark and cold
plastic eye flashing
programmed data;
warm and sensitive
flesh eyes flashing
non-programmable
blue twinkles.

The teenies get to grips with technology so so quickly Sandra - my son had his first pc when he was about 2 1/2. A couple of months later he called me in the room - 'look what I can do mum and he typed his name 'D A V I D' -no wonder he is studying computers at university:-) hugs Jan xx

Yes, Jan, young ones grasp this so well. I do worry that communication is less face to face and more behind screens these days! Hugs, Sanda
