The Designer’s Eye

I look up to the blue expanses,
Needing to see just a trace of my designer,
Just an eyelash, or the tiniest of a skin flake.
Maybe just the descent of a strange leaf,
So that, inside my insecure soul,
There is some tincture of truth,
I can hold on to;
Just a nanosecond of illuminating light,
Of something beyond nature and,
Its troubling temper tantrums.
I know there is an invisible curtain before us.
I can feel the staring eyes of the dead.

They sit in the Big Theater,
Watching the Big Play unfold endlessly,
And I am on the stage of time,
Still reciting the soliloquies of fear.

But over there,
Lurking behind the bannisters,
Look!
I see the Beast.
He has shot Lincoln.
Now the designer has shown me his eye.

Birds of Feathers

What the birds know today is that I am not there
Funny as it may seem, those birds and I have something in common
We are always looking for something,
What puzzles me the most is when I put out food
They appear from nowhere, chirping and calling for others
To come to share the food.
They are fascinating creatures,
I think I have hyped them too much by feeding them a lot of sugar:
However, I loved how they picked the leftovers.
And in a nanosecond, the food was gone.
I am back in the cold once again,
I truly missed those birds outside my door,
They do not need to migrate south.
And most of all they don’t have to select
Or regret voting for a president
In their defense, each of them appears to be a leader.
Who leads Birds of a Feather?

Contest Line of Inquiry:
"Here I am in human form, but it was not always quite so;
Earth is not the only planet I’ve been to through past life
 regressions, I definitely know."

From the white light of death
as we take our last breath,
our human Souls emerge.
By nanosecond surge,
transformed, like butterflies-
with mystic wings, each flies
back home into God's Light-
shape-shifting on our flight.
From Earth's cocoon, we lift
to our awarded gift.

Be it Eternal Life,
free from mortal strife;
or made to live again-
in flesh once more, and then-
shape-shifting, growing whole
through purity of Soul.
Soon feel we've lived before
upon a distant shore.
Therefore, Soul journeys go
how God directs their flow.

“There are moments in life when anxiety, bewilderment and tension can turn into slow acceptance, opening new spiritual insights and strengthening one’s faith”--- By Poet

In dazzled astonishment
She looked up from her reverie,
As she heard the flap of wings overhead
And saw the flash of laser beams in her dim lit room
Before her, stood a winged seraph
A radiant silhouette with such gentleness and grace
Never beholden on any human face.
With hands raised in benediction,
Gabriel saluted Mary and said-
“Blessed art thou amongst women…
……………………………………

The rest she heard in a trance.
Unable to comprehend what was conveyed,
The girl looked up nonplussed.
Again he said, “The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee
And a son shall be born of thee
Whom you shall call Jesus”

In that nanosecond of a new revelation,
Did Mary’s world shatter like glassware
Or did her virgin womb thrill with new life?

Was it a moment of epiphany when she felt,
Heaven opened before her in all its splendor?

Did she swim in the waters of joyful tiding?
Or gyrate in the sweeping swirl of tidal waves.

For the girl already espoused to a man,
In whose dreams his comely form had begun
Flitting in and out,
Was it a moment of silent ravishment?
Or of stupefied bewilderment?
Did a dagger cut through her heart?

Not sure, however Mary didn’t flee,
To her it was an epiphany
And she willingly said- “Let it be”
In her case, dread and epiphany came in synergy.

Abuzz Aldrin the Afternoon With Energy

Abuzz (Aldrin The Afternoon) With Energy

a-gush with vigor
     of a balled umpire
after a cold shower,
     particularly most enjoyable, when
     (during hot weather),
     these lovely fleshed
     out bones heavily perspire
     me no liar,

plus the boost,
     I didst acquire
from downing one guarana
     to help jumpstart mental empire,
     (essentially caffeine
     in capsule form)
initially found me
     figuratively being catapulted

skyward blasted, as if shot out
     like a healthy
     arsonist flame of fire
into cerulean heavens, like an
     Aerospace rocket ship
     this dada packet
     thrust above Gaia
     moony miles higher,

but after so
     many hours overtaken
     by invisible drag net,
     re: led zeppelin
     said charge (akin to quaffing
one cup of coffee) did expire,
     a crash test dummy) systems
of a down quite in dire

straits, sans dramatically dropping
     altitude as kamikaze hire,
thus needed to recharge,
     without a nanosecond to wait
this foo fighting
     beastie boy (George), hence
     upon padded foldout chair
     comfortable seated poise,

     aye didst create,
     and commenced meditation
     (a transcendent closed eye practice),
     sensing the oblate
spheroid (planet earth) traveling
     thru deep purple space
     NON GMO flute'n gree
     holistic practice helpful to abate

anxiety and/or panic,
     I resumed of late
which light trance like state
brought me a measure, where
     inner peace didst inflate
     of blissful fate
essentially homeopathic ploys
     to quiet mind chatter

     within my pate
     accessed to help me feel
     (like Tony the Tiger) GRrreat,
thence returning to man my station
i.e. sitting facing Macbook
     Pro external (Lenovo)
and dash (imaginatively) riding in a
     one horse open sleigh.

I'll pick up the phone on the first or second ring
If I know it's you who's calling I'll drop everything
I love to hear your voice when we're on the telephone
It's almost like you're singing, you've such a pleasing tone

You can call me anytime you're lonesome or you're not
I'll be there to answer right there on the spot
I wouldn't keep me waiting a nanosecond more
I want to have each moment that you would have in store

Even if I have to put a coat over my head
I wouldn't miss your call, the thought of it I dread
Call me in the morning, afternoon, or night
I'll make sure I'm ready, to hear you's a delight

Sleeping volcano

Volcano in slumber state, now at rest seems inert inactive,
but can erupt at any moment becoming reactive,
       even may act instantaneous, spontaneous.
Sleeping volcano may be furious like Vesuvius
that showed last days of Pompei.

Walked along the charcoal blended rim of burnt ashes
on boundary of crater formed as bye-product pf last explosion.
Felt heat of molten lava as if still oozing.
Here and there scattered pieces of porous pumice rock.

I sat on the brim of a tarn full of clean clear water.
The day was chilled in late December.
Yet, I sensed hot fumes to visualize nightmare of catastrophe.
Presently comatose volcano may be benign,
whether in deep sleep or apparent stop gap,
or slowly initiating volcanic convulsion in deep chasm, not sure.
        Current status static, all quiet,tranquil.

        Sudden outburst may cause devastation.
I will just vanish with my muse and imagery.
Sleeping Volcano may wake up next nanosecond
       to exhibit its vigorous violence.

No Heavenly Delight For This Atheist

Bleak existence portrayed,
nonetheless this (baby
boomer) hybrid dreamer
oft times evocative
edenic reveries bekiss
mine psyche with pastoral trappings
evoking utopian bliss

on par with drawing
winning lottery ticket,
which fantasy I quickly dismiss,
where dolorous voices within me hiss
mocking pipe dream compensating
for unlived life hide miss

whiling away hours
of young adulthood...
this threescore aged man did blithely piss
away enraptured with Swiss
Family Robinson fantasy,
gladly exchanging tsoris

entailing breathtaking adventure
versus sequestered bookishness burr
rowed nose engrossed
with page turner capture
ring imagination of this erstwhile drifter
addressing, fixating, and keeping coiffure

as disheveled appearance, where daily
father and mother showed me the door
particularly on account, cuz for one more
nanosecond, they could not endure
this healthy sole son vaping expenditure
as both parents toiled away,

they tired trying to swallow failure
while primarily main feature
of this poem lackadaisically
exhausted as an Evansburg Park fixture
(calling squirrels on first name basis),
no sooner this bookworm gave vague gesture

after setting foot inside abode - 'pon dusk
asper whereabouts, off
into bedroom I did immure
and disappear into story
maybe one about main
character pledging indenture

role as heavy footsteps shook
324 Level Road domicile infrastructure
awaiting the wrath
of Khan spouting ultimatums
our father/son rapport long did inure
a "NON FAKE" wall not immune

to malicious, noxious, vicious... lecture
to offspring who long outwore his
Harris Tweed Scottish welcome mat,
yet... feared testing nonsecure
mooring which familiarity bred contempt!

PRETENDING WE KNOW -

I'm looking back in time, it
doesn't strike me straight away
I'm too intrigued to see those
faces once again. A small group
of six apparently happy relatives
posed on a hilltop somewhere
with aerial view of fields behind.
With all the knowledge I have
it occurs to me that these smiles
they wear were really masks
and beneath were the concerns
of holding their individual
loves and lives together.
Each of us are doing that each
and every second of a day.
Four of the six have passed on:
But not before their bodies
were aged and weakened
simply by being alive.
It is a strange path we tread
from oblivion to oblivion,
and along the way we might
be captured in some nanosecond
of time in a photograph, where
we bravely put on a smile
as if we are comfortable and
know what it is actually all about.

Have a happy new year folks.

The Grand Scheme

in the grand scheme of things
Nothing is as it seems,
nothing will stand
the test of time,
the eons will grind,
all will be worn to dust
as nothing is forever

forgotten in rust
in the grand scheme of things
we are nothing but a nanosecond
sparks of life easy blown out like a candle

in a vast vacuum of night
the regions of forever
and no one n nothing ever lasts

nothing is as it is or deemed,
seeing nothing in the coming void
nothing will stand the test of eternity

eons will grind all to carbon at last
the thing that stars of made

watching it drift through
…these deathless hands!
