I saw God But Now What

Line Of Inquiry : "I saw God but now what"
It was Easter and I was kneading bread on my kitchen counter. A nanosecond flash and God's face appeared on my backsplash, by the sink. I had a moment of pure rapture before doubt settled in, "Did I truly see Him or was it just an illusion? An un-worldly experience like this causes a euphoric moment on the heart. But soon fear settled in and I asked myself, "Is this vision an imminent sign of my impending death? Or proof of His true existence. Faith you cannot see like depth of the sea or roots of a tree Along the years, there have been other Grace filled moments such as this. Like the time I sat in a retreat center to pray and a gentle wind blew through my very soul, leaving me in tears. " I was found." The message was brought home by His Sacred presence in me. A pivotal moment of awareness and I knew God was the living seed of my mere existence. Although I didn't see Him this time, I truly felt His presence, and recognized the Divine in me. Love is the answer Love is a lancer Love is a dancer I have grown old and wise and this broken vessel is filled with the wear-and-tear of a well served life. So as my hourglass body pours itself out, I sit by the river and watch the birds of the air go by. Each one of them brings a message from Him, " When your time is near, I'll be there dear," This is what I hear as I listen, with a very grateful heart.

One of my favorite lines in your poem reads: "Faith you cannot see like depth of the sea or roots of a tree." My Aunt used to tell me that little bits of surpising good luck moments were "God Winks". I loved this, she was right when I started looking. You can bury your loved one, but you can never bury love, honesty, tenacity, hope, fear, anticipation...these return to God I think ,as they obviously exist. I am grateful to have found your poem tonight. It is lovely and it moved me.

I can relate to what you have described here. Such surreal experiences I too have had on some occasions. The joy we experience on such moments are heavenly and matchless. The very memory of such grace filled moments is so soothing and it edifies us in the critical phases of life. "Love is the answer Love is a lancer. Love is the dancer " Beautiful. Stay blessed, dear Rose

Incredibly beautiful poem, Rose. Faith is the axis of our life. When we depart we hear His words. Believe in Me, he says. How true. I never doubted Him. Great poem. Hugs.

"Faith is something you can't see like the depth of the sea or, the hidden roots of a tree" -- I hear you. Sad to have all this spiritual truth, and then to fear it will perish with our demise. The student I long for has not been drawn to me...I hear you. It is ours to shine, trusting in the law of attraction...therefore I feel somewhat a failure. Blessings my friend. Remembering, it is not The I -- but God's will. I am merely a local vessel of The All and The All that can be. Blessings my friend. Not convoluted as it may sound on the surface. Great read! A FAV....

I am sure you are a great teacher Joe, if the student isn't listening its because his karmic energy has not been sharpened with understanding yet, it will come. Keep professing His love to them, it will happen in God's time.

Love is always the answer and faith is something that cannot be seen but can be felt and experienced. “ When your time is near, I'll be there dear," This is what I hear as I listen, with a very grateful heart. “ those internal rhymes and flow of lines is truly impeccable! What a powerful haibun sweet rose! I enjoyed reading this! Sending you light always
