Love Me With Your Eyes

my heart withers within me

swamped by my fancies for thee

longing to hold thee as mine in a caressing embrace,

long awaiting from thee a telling smile.

maybe from it i shall gather courage to give free reign

to my tongue to sing the urges of the heart.

each day a part of me fall and withers

and light from mine eyes fade,

at night rest eludes me,

though my eyes fall heavy with sleep

in my mind dwells a constant strife,

the fracas i meet at the fading of the light

thoughts of you caressed by another.....

lives to haunt my dreams and i shan't find a peace of mind.

my love for thee blosoms,

mushrooming in my mind,

my heart and soul 'till all i think of is ye

with neither little hopes of telling thee my urgies

nor do i seek redemption by purging my fancies

Lest what i hoped will ensnare thy heart,

only frightens thee and grant me only heartache

and yet another day passes and my heart withers from the pain in desolation

nobody knows what gnaws me within

nor shall any ever learn the source of my agony

i hope to learn to curb my urges and cloak them with friendliness

but shall i trust myself to one day watch you walk way from me,

embracing another whispering to another, caressed and loved before my famished soul

your fading scent lingering still, to cut through my heart and remind me of my fading sanity

that alas ye! was surely not a dream my mind forged,

but a beauty i beheld and let slip through the cowering heart

that strained to curb what was a gift of the heart with hopes to ensnare a free spirit

this consuming passion shan't deminish, it enspires within me soul abandonment

how can i hope to walk away, when you weave for me this sensual leash

my heart is ensnared, my passion curbed, my tongue tied

all wrapped in together as a gift to my heart mate.....

Your Hero

like a run away hubcap spinning down the road...your life spins out of control;
how will this end—on a rocky hillside or a soft grassy knoll?

with forehead wrinkles and squinted vision you watch hopes and dreams burst into flames

flames igniting your inner core to not give up...
from this damnation of life’s bitter cup...

anxietic thoughts mushrooming like an atomic explosion inside your mind
space

in a toxic drunk you struggle to hold on—with clenched teeth— you cry out for savin’ Grace....

all the while destitution lurking in the shadows to capture your soul...
as beguiling sillouettes of enchantment tap dance to the intricate fibers of your being losing hold...

like a broken string sending a yo-yo on a downward descend
flat on your face—hard—you fall
questioning— from this— how can I mend?...

at rock bottom you lay...
you pray...

the dam burst— too heavy— the weight of bitter confection
cheeks quivering you gaze into your puddle of tears;
you see a reflection...

at ground zero...
staring back; it’s you—your hero...

you hear a voice whisper...
“there’s no place to go my child but up—
hand over to Me—thy bitter cup”...

Premium Member While Brushing My Teeth

while brushing my teeth …
tragedies occur worldwide
clashing ideologies
iron mixed with clay
stoking all my fears

while brushing my teeth …
railroad crossing warning lights
ignored by mankind
choosing to beat the turnstile
Russian roulette on steroids

while brushing my teeth …
greenhouse gasses mushrooming
fossil fuel burning
weather patterns alarming
what of our children?

while brushing my teeth …
our friend Time becomes our foe
what’s wrong becomes right
heads buried in sand
darkness perverts civility

while brushing our teeth …
who will rescue us?
creation or Creator?
Master Potter’s loving touch
coils of clay willing to yield?

Premium Member My Flowered Vegetable Sweetheart-

Sweet heart my passion dear pumpkin
Sweeter than a cabbage you are my sweet corn
somewhat louder than the bourn
Deep into that darkness sprouting
Liken a flower blossoming
How they were shouting, touting - flouting
those the farmers and gardeners
They abloom allemandes abstracting
Ah, distinctly I was defoliating
Your stock, your stem the bud of your flower

My mind always strays to you you’re beautiful as the trees
I crave your sweet, shrubby sycamore
I crave the awash, abloom abstract almond leaves
That, that the moment my soul grew cute
What could there be more purely brute?
Sweeter than the summer sun
Hotter than 4th of July
somewhat more covering than a parachute
you warned me about the spreading roots
Come grow with me
Come grow within me, come go with me
Deep into that darkness rising
the palmetto seemed happy synthesizing
what could there be more purely enterprising?
And the Tasmania was utilizing
Of the emergence's that is realizing
Deep into that darkness pollarding
Deep into that darkness spiraling

Instead I uncovered the squash
There stood an engaged goulash
While I pondered, awesome and swash
Much I marveled the square cherry tomato
I crave the gorgeous, glorious garlic
Remembering many cacciatore, horrendous mounts
The many microlight mushrooming
Such you are as I am
A pollenated vegetable won’t you be my flower
Come my sweetheart my flower stand with me under the rain showers

Fade To Black CHAINS HAIKU

 Sylphs, Fairies, Imps, Sprites
Moonlighting on the dark side
Bitstreaming the Night

Ology fractured
Today's Client, a new breed
That's the business

Mushrooming sales, sniffs
Crystal, clear intent
To manufacture

-oting with money
At the Poles, even my wife
There's Aurora now

Lunging from darkness
Retro grade it forward, Ho
Think plunges work well

Everything's for sale
Well, Specially People, Hell
Got a few right here

Ever since Biden
Been no need for deception
Magic, fade to black

That's a rap people
Cut it, print it, Sell it high
I miss the old days

Video stores, love
Obeying Constitutions
Common decency

Premium Member It's a Beautiful World

On a rough jagged rock, I sit
   high above a waterfall
whose roar is loud...yet soothing
it pours upon the large rocks below
   in a violent rush
mushrooming up, bubbling mists of rain
that are carried by the wind
   caressing my skin
the day's twilight sheen
casts a dim light and a sense of serenity
I watch the sunset sweep across the horizon
in a vibrantly painted wash of colors
taking me on a quiet journey
of wondrous dreamy thoughts...that beckon my soul
to a beautiful world of expansive scenery
the red of the evening sky is the perfect dress
with ruffles of yellow, to end the day
the last flicker of light vanishes
and the night drapes its darkness
   over the shoulder of twilight
comforting the majestic splendor of sunset
in a black cape of luminous stars
welcoming the rise of the moon's crowning light
   to illuminate the waterfall
in a soft luster...taking center stage
allowing shades and shadows to form in silence
moving slowly across the landscape
filling my eyes, my soul, with peace and tranquility
   as I whisper...yes, it's a beautiful world

Let It Go - Give It Up

Our stay in the
mushrooming subdivision
      Ashley Springs
can achieve full ownership only
by meeting the developer’s
latest requirements...
six bushes and two deciduous trees,
keep your garbage can in the garage.

Such restrictions have put the whole
neighborhood in the throes of unrest.
Gears are clashing even as I write.

    To sully the community spirit
in this way evokes emotions which
attempt to sidestep legality.

We more flexible newbies,
about thirty in number now
are pitted against
the established oldies
who could grandfather out of some of
the constraints based on length of residence.

       Solution? It’s our property now!
Mr. Developer. Your raw power gains nothing
by the forcing of personal preference.

Edge of Darkness

“My soul is a black maelstrom…” ~ Fernando Pessoa, The Book of Disquiet.

Molten lava spews from my eyes
My mouth feels dry as the scorching desert sand
Fear like a heavy boulder sits on my chest
My heart is chasing a Chimera
A pit is forming in my stomach,
My head is riding upon a vortex
Conflicting thoughts swirling through my mind
forming a surrealistic whirlpool,
Grim and gloomy feelings shroud my being
permeating a fatalistic suspicion of society at large
dragging me down the road to depression.

A sense of emptiness is mushrooming within me,
like the morning miasma blurring the view,
All hands of hope have been withdrawn
Every moment henceforth
is pregnant with some novel challenges,
Tackling a new task overwhelms me
and despair prevails over my soul undeterred —
Bogged down by fate,
Tethered to my faith,
and mired in a spiritual quagmire
I am unable to claw my way back up
to Mount Calvary.
