How can we not have this conversation
where footprints of the poor vanish
beneath the boots of investors,
and the river sings only
to those who can afford its luxury?
In Chobe, the elephants roam free,
but people walk caged in poverty.
We call it coexistence
when tusks are protected,
but mothers bury their sons
gored near neglected kraals.
And no one comes
unless it's a game drive
and the victim is not black.
How can we not speak
when the lion's roar is louder
than a widow's cry for compensation?
When leopards eat goats
and ministries write reports not cheques?
Let's talk about the five-star smiles
that greet foreign tongues
while the Batswana mop floors, serve beer, and sleep on concrete after ten-hour shifts.
Let's talk about uniforms and pay slips
that smell like servitude,
contracts folded into silence
in offices lined with antelope heads.
And let's speak of the racism
how a Black woman was shot by a white woman
who said, "I thought it was a monkey."
As if her body was a silhouette of threat.
As if Blackness is always a blur
on the edge of someone else's comfort.
The river bore witness, but the law shrugged,
and headlines softened the bullet.
Let's talk of fishermen
banished from their birthright,
told their canoes spoil the view,
that their laughter scares the tourists,
that their presence is pollution.
Let's speak of lodge owners
who toss insults like breadcrumbs
to those who clean their sheets
lazy, slow, replaceable.
No chains, but contracts.
No slurs, just smiles
with knives beneath them.
We cannot be quiet
when the sun sets
behind lodges built on lies,
and the river is fenced
not for safety, but exclusion.
How can we not speak
of the politics of permits,
where land is leased
like livestock,
and council seats are auctioned
to the highest foreign bidder?
Corruption blooms like water hyacinth,
choking life from the roots
of communal trust.
The sand knows.
The baobabs know.
Even the crocodiles know
how long we've swallowed
our own tongues
to protect the myth of peace.
So let us talk.
Let us gather in the heat
of midday truth,
where no luxury air-con hums.
Let us speak until the sky listens,
until justice stalks this land
as fiercely as the wild.
Because silence, here,
is complicity.
And we have been quiet
for far too long.

The Lord be thanked for our revival* by His compassion of loving kindness
Indeed forgiving our confessed iniquities as well as our sinfulness
Since He sanctifies us to walk along paths of righteousness
And guards us from human nature’s tempting weakness.
The Lord ensures our revival for us to stay strong in His triumphant might
Indeed smiting our vain arrogance to yield to His sovereignty’s height
Since He reproves our disobedience so we strive to do what’s right
And upholds us in walking by faith along His light.
The Lord listens to our pleas for revival, making us truly Spirit-filled
Indeed hearing our supplications that causes us to be soul-stilled
Since He deals with us, correcting our being self-willed
And teaches us to submit to Him, blessedly-thrilled.
The Lord grants revival toward zealous kingdom advancement
Indeed working in our spirituality by His empowerment
Since He saved us from hell’s grievous endangerment
And granted us life eternal with grace-endowment.
The Lord enables our revival toward sharing Gospel story
Indeed reminding us to love whom He loves for His great glory
Since He leads us through His Word toward sure victory
And moves us to abide in His will’s perfect territory.
The Lord propels our revival to fulfill the Great Commission without delay
Indeed helping us bring the lost to the Saviour - the truth, life, and way
Since He wants us to become enthusiastic soulwinners as we do pray
And keeps us involved in church ministries while in His will we stay.
The Lord sustains our revival-joy by His constant admonition and instruction
Indeed perfecting us toward Christlikeness along character-transformation
Since He delights in our glad worship midst faithful stewardship-function
And cheers us in our good works’ perseverance for His exaltation.
*Isaiah 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

UPRIGHT CASCADING BEAUTY BROKEN-HEARTED
You walk on to me you pair me with your eyes startled
Dilated spectrum rationalize beautiful window your pain
Eye gate windowsill is splintered crest
The message of the view I see everest
And I realize that the glass is smudge tears fall like rain
UPRIGHT CASCADING BEAUTY BROKEN-HEARTED
But it's clear to me now love
You need agape love
As you stand before me innocent blood
I want to embrace you in your millennial space
As I hold you there's this grace
UPRIGHT CASCADING BEAUTY BROKEN-HEARTED
Empathy titans spun in dirty lace
There's no lust found nor sour icing found on your cake
These the holdings that I bear of you
Until you is heavenly sound royalty blue
The beating of your hearts rings sad on rebound
UPRIGHT CASCADING BEAUTY BROKEN-HEARTED
And there's your light lit it's not in the dark
Don't want to let go of you because this not a lark
It would be a fleeting thought
If I could pray I would pray for blessedness
Completeness because you're worthy caress
UPRIGHT CASCADING BEAUTY BROKEN-HEARTED
Far more worthy than the hurt that you express be
Healings of the broken pottery that stands before me
Feelings of empathy of the wantings the need be peace
And the spectrum of the glass I see your reflection talking
It's so fragile yet strong as a diamond back sparkling
UPRIGHT CASCADING BEAUTY BROKEN-HEARTED
You're jewel you're the Father's daughter and above
Stand so tall Queen of Israel
In awe for all so tall you walk on void materials
As you walk tall straight your head above the waters passionate fruit
Glee you strive humanity you deny for your broken vessel earthen suit
UPRIGHT CASCADING BEAUTY BROKEN-HEARTED
You bruised vessel stands so glitters
As so those clothes you wear radiant heather
Having those you're worth more than rubies and gold
So I let go of my embrace, I look into your face so cold
And as you withdraw your body In cadence
So loved you turn around and walk away
And all I can see is the beauty surreal at bay
Assured of your essence your soul walks away
Leaving me in part pupils still dilated spark
You walk away with the swollen heart

Written words by James Edward Lee Sr © 2023
there are profits to be had if you listen to a prophet of the Lord
blessings of infinite proportions if you choose to get on board
the prophecy of a prophet, the words from a man of God
a man whom God will use, a man after His own heart
one who is willing to sacrifice and still do all that he can
to spread the gospel, intercede for others and follow God's master plan
but where are those kinds of prophets today?
true men of God whom we desire to obey
many of them have forsaken their ministries and compromised their callings
and can't seem to realize that spiritually they seem to be stalling
for it's quality and not quantity that the Lord God desires
it's not how many, but how devoted are those whom you inspire
Elijah was a prophet who had an intimate relationship with Christ
he lived during the times of Queen Jezebel's opulent life
but Elijah was a simple man of God who was most adamant
he stood on the word of God and was determined to follow the commandments
he declared one day that God said there would be a drought
and until the people changed their wicked ways, the rains would not pour out
one day on his earthly tour Elijah met a lost soul
a widowed woman of little means who had abandoned all of her goals
Elijah asked her for some water and then he asked her for some bread
she said I only have enough for one last meal and then I will be dead
she had given up, she was defeated, she had relinquished all hope
she had forsaken her belief system and no longer had a desire to cope
yet in the midst of all this virulence and all of this stress
Elijah said to trust in God's word so her testimony would progress
and after she committed to the word and took that leap of faith
she received a profit from the prophet's prophecy, she got a food rebate
when you trust in the Lord to provide all of your needs
He will overflow your storehouse with an abundance of seeds
if you believe in Him, you'll then receive from Him, come out of your comfort zone
trust in a prophet's prophecy it has the power of the heavenly throne
be obedient to God's commands, on His word you can depend
trust in God's promises, they will profit you in the end
the profits in a prophet's prophecy you will then receive
just say yes to all God asks of you and in His word truly believe

Isaiah 64:8 "Yet, oh Lord, You are our Father. We are the clay, You are the potter; we are all the work of your hand."
Intro -
(Verse 1)
I've lost touch with all the things that make You real
Could be the reason why I'm just not sure
Of how I feel inside without You
All the stirrings and the hunger in my soul
Is only now replaced by carelessness
And guilt of who I am and used to be
And becoming the reflection that I see
I am.
(Verse 2)
It's taken all my life to insulate my heart
I've surrounded it with walls of words
And fortresses of self-deception
All the battles that I waged within my world
Were only vain attempts to help myself
Believe that I was changing deep inside
But all I did was find new ways to hide
(Chorus)
I am this man of clay
Lord I need you now to mold me
Please take me in your sculptor's hands
And re-create the one
I am.
(Verse 3)
Is there method to the madness in my life?
All the mortar that I've built upon
Has crumbled to my feet before me
Knowing countless are the times I've turned away
Finding temporary refuge in
The things that I could spend my senses on
Hoping when I turned I'd find the one
I am.
(Verse 4)
I have loved and lost so much as someone new
Hoping others would be taken with
The person that they wanted me to be
Living for the things they couldn't see
And not the Truth my Lord had shown to me
(Chorus)
I am this man of clay
Lord I need you now to mold me
Please take me in Your sculptor's hands
And re-create the one
I am.
Solo Break -
(Chorus)
I am this man of clay
Lord I need you now to mold me
Please take me in your sculptor's hands
And re-create the one
I am ...
This man of clay
Lord I need you now to mold me
Please take me in your sculptor's hands
And re-create the one
Re-create the one
Re-create the one
I am.

A PART OF THE SOLUTION
We have many ministries at Heritage Baptist Church;
For willing, faithful workers we’re always on the search.
For we have many challenges within our ministry;
A part of the solution each worker here can be.
We have so many people we can bring in on a bus,
And so we have the drivers to bring them here to us.
We have the willing workers who Saturday will go,
And ride on Sunday with them, their care and love they show.
We have a good mechanic to help us with repairs;
He’s one we oft depend on, and he is always there.
We have some special people challenged by handicaps;
The Gems and Jewels workers have filled that need and gap.
And what about the “rejects”--the drunks and druggies, too?
We know they need the Savior, and so there is R. U.
We have some folks to counsel, to help them on the way;
Perhaps we’ll build a home where they can live in some day.
And how about Sunday morning--those kids who fill the aisles--
We have some special teachers who greet them with a smile.
And then we have some widows--oh, what a special place
We’ve given to these women we call “Ladies of Grace.”
There’s others who are shut-in and cannot be here where
They hear the pastor’s message, so there is Care to Share.
And those who may be living in a nursing home today
Have someone come to see them, have church for them, and pray.
Our church’s sole priority is the souls of all mankind,
So some go out soul winning, the lost to seek and find.
We have a Christian college, a Christian school so nice,
A camp for use in summer to train our youth for Christ.
We have a missions program, and helps for needy, too;
A pastor who is burdened, a staff who helps him through.
Yes, we at HBC know all the challenges we face
To reach out to Columbus with God’s great saving grace.
And we want to continue to reach out and to grow,
To spread this precious gospel, to learn, to give, to go.
And so we thank our workers, those who have seen the need
And give their time to help us in faith, in word, in deed.
Each part of the solution is honored here today
For all their dedication to the straight, narrow way.
Written for Workers Appreciation 2005, Heritage Baptist Church
Luke 23:34 of the Scriptures, expressed this truth clearly:
“Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.”
Grateful am I for that divine plea of my Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ
for erring sinners like me.
What a compassionate supplication of a supreme God!
Such exemplifies how it is to reach-out to someone
who offended, angered and hurt me in the God-entrusted ministries
I'm a part of as a volunteer care-giver and life-builder.
Here am I humbled, humiliated, helped, and hoisted
in the exercise of genuine forgiveness required by the holy Pardoner.
Yes, I’m humbled as I admit my inability
to forgive absolutely, readily and completely
…the street child who called me a “fool”
while I was teaching him with my utmost best;
…the orphaned boy who would steal and lie about it,
despite being provided with his needs;
…the abandoned teen who reported me as a tyrant tormentor,
when in fact he was given a gentle discipline
packed with cheer-filled clemency;
…the arrogant pupil who disrespectfully accused me
as a lousy instructor, embarrassing me.
Indeed, I’m humiliated as the Lord reveals to me
my hypocrisy, half-heartedness, and haughtiness
in granting forgiveness along faith's fervor.
Thus, with the Holy Spirit’s conviction and power,
I confess my iniquities while persevering to overcome and forsake them.
Now, I’m helped in my desire to forgive with graciousness
based on the God’s imparted love to me,
bearing in mind Ephesians 4:32,
“…forgiving one another, even as God
for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”
Praising the Lord, I’m hoisted by God’s mercy
in seeking for His forgiveness for my very own sins
while worshipfully acknowledging His admonition
asserted by His Word in I John 1:9:
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

(Sanatoga, Pennsylvania location)
I luxuriated as inkling of spring 2021
offered sneak preview today
March third as temperatures
reached low fifties Fahrenheit.
Yours truly began reading
one paperback book
(I purchased three),
and absorbed daily dose of Vitamin D
while secretly ensconced
within favorite nook.
This middle aged rue stirring bummer
favors warmth, boot haint no stranger to cold,
when dark hen stormy wintry days
eggs hit from Arctic portal enfold
ding Atlantic Seaboard
in a blizzard of bitterly, blindingly, and
brutally sub zero temperatures
from an occasional nor'easter
fiercely gripping hold,
the majority years, sans this prolific
recalcitrant scrivener lived
in various and sundry abode
housed within Southeastern
Montgomery County, Pennsylvania
with 19473 current zip code,
and during my boyhood recall,
how massive ice sheets did erode
the (then) opened expansive farmland,
in preparation for planting time,
where runnels of frigid water flowed
with childish cheeks exposed to glowed
after hours upon
many a green acre got tilled and hoed
despite feeling energized and refreshed
with arms and legs ne'er frozen
aye didst eagerly await with exuberant yen
kickstarting thy body electric
experiencing hearthstone nook
designed and built by Christopher Wren
after heading indoors counting fingers
and toes to make sure, I still got ten
soon hearing the chorus of fauna,
and floral kaleidoscope of color
aground or taking wing
thus, upon thawing out thoughts
drifted toward approaching spring,
the season revitalizing
dormant natural inhabitants,
whose excitement (like mine) didst ping
announcing the debut of fecundity
nsync with screeching
from the lizard king
who entered and did break on thru
doors of fame and fortune
becoming out of this world legendary
rock and roll icon,
nevertheless, he joined twenty seven club
for permanent fling.
