Author's Comment: Palindrome, also known as the Mirrored Poem, reads forwards and
backwards. It stems from the Greek word palindromos: palin, meaning again, and dromos,
meaning a running. Combining the two together, the Greek meaning gives us, running back
again. The concept of the “mirrored images” reflects an “image mirrored,” which includes a
word in the center of the poem as a reversal point for the sentence or even the poem.
There is no set number of stanzas or any rules for construction.

Premium Member My hands, too small to grasp a dream in its gentle flight

My hands, too small to grasp a dream in its gentle flight,
Yet too large to capture their attention, to hold them in their delicate thread.
What am I, if not art, just a simple presence without contour,
Perhaps just the frame that surrounds a story, without a murmur of its own?
In the flow of my thoughts, I wonder who I truly am,
If perhaps I've only been a frame, a space too wide, too flat.
My hands cannot keep the magic of the dream that unravels easily,
Nor capture the gazes that fly like birds without flight.
I wonder what remains of me when everything disappears like mist,
Just an echo of unfulfilled dreams, a shadow that clings to my life.
But perhaps the frame has its own beauty, in its subtle silence,
Like a silent witness to art, giving it form, but never speaking out.
Thus, I continue to weave my thoughts in this inner labyrinth,
Searching for meaning, a light, a fragment of the dream I long for.
And even when my hands seem powerless in the face of destiny,
I remain a part of the story, a necessary outline of the mystery.

Road Trip

Miles stretch before me, and many behind -
as many are the thoughts tonight on my mind.

I began this trip giving my body more ink,
more art to describe one more family link.
I will end it the same way, on the same arm -
in trade for meaning, a tiny measure of harm.

I visit friends and kin close to home and those far,
eminently worth all those hours in the car.
They renew my spirit with words and shared smiles -
if only with them I had more than these small whiles.

I look back already on the weeks just spent,
and feel that far too quickly that time went.
Yet I feel no regret for leaving so soon -
only joy from their company, such a boon.

I also visited friends and family who have passed,
for each of them, a poem I wrote long past.
I spoke and I wept, and although I don't believe -
I hope they heard what words I managed to weave.

Through all this, a voice in text and on the phone,
supporting despite how far from home I've flown.
Such a rare soul I've been so dearly lucky to meet -
she floors me yet somehow already keeps me on my feet.

Like the rain we both enjoy, o'er her shoulders pours
hair the color of the sunflowers she so adores.
Her freckled eyes I miss, that gaze that locks me in -
the gorgeous green and the long looks making me grin.

Miles stretch before me, and many behind -
as many are the thoughts tonight on my mind.

Premium Member We are asleep Our life is a dream woven from shadows and lights

We are asleep. Our life is a dream woven from shadows and lights,
But sometimes we wake, just enough to know that we are dreaming,
Searching through the folds of the night for a hidden meaning, a calling,
We wake up tired and fall asleep restless, navigating among fading stars,
We toil under the burden of our own selves, seeking relief in the realm of imagination,
Where thoughts turn into birds flying over fields of desires,
And the soul becomes a river flowing through the valleys of endless time,
In search of a moment of clarity, a glimmer of truth in the night,
And in dreaming, we find tender wings that carry us to untouched horizons,
Where dream and reality meet in a symphony of colors and silences.
Sometimes we wake, only to remember that sleep is just another way of living,
A chaotic dance of shadows on the canvas of the mind, a labyrinth of emotions and thoughts,
And in this ephemeral awakening, we glimpse a light calling us towards dawn,
But we always return to the dream, to that realm where everything is possible and everything is nothing,
Where we find and lose ourselves, in an eternal cycle of searching and rediscovery.

Find Me Before I Lose Myself

Yearning, in my quest for meaning, a dream unfolds
A barrier where reality fades and imagination holds
A reflection, an illusion, of a person who stole my heart
I tried to catch the glimpse of her face but the dream didn't last

From one realm of existence to another she runs
Breaking her promise of meeting me upon the setting of sun
Hiding and waiting for me to come seek
But the dream ends before we can meet

In a place where eternal promises are made
I always wait for her under the tallest tree's shade
I wonder if I will ever be able to win this game
And have the opportunity to see her once again.

Find me so that I know there is a heart where I belong
Someone to write songs for and a companion to travel along
Find me before I lose myself in this vast world
Make me yours before someone else does

Premium Member My Gospel Day

All of my life right to my late 20s
I had heard and read many a thing
somewhat religious at times I found
rarely at church there I loved to sing

Life wasn't too bad despite being me
meaning a stammer struggling for a word
but liked sport, movies and a good book
deep down felt something needs stirred

My girlfriend at that time took me
to her church where it blew my mind
there I was to listen to God's word
showing me I was spiritually blind

As time went on I was gripped
God put His word before my eyes
but especially the gospel of Jesus
here it was, what a surprise

Jesus Christ died for my sins
the son of God my gospel day
this day my eyes were opened
my heart touched by God's way

This way I now walk with Jesus
His blessed gospel broke in to stay
my sins were removed by His blood
thank you, Jesus, for dying at Calvary

(The best day of my life was when God broke through and revealed his word to me, showing me a sinner but revealing his son to be my saviour.)

Premium Member Today I went out into the city with my soul turned inside out, like an old coat reversed

Today I went out into the city with my soul turned inside out, like an old coat reversed,
And on streets filled with shadows and lights, people looked at me with curious eyes,
As if they had glimpsed a stranger in their own story, a character without purpose,
And friends called me, their voices like echoes from a distant past,
Telling me they didn’t know I was a poet, as if my words were hidden,
And I replied with a lost smile, that I didn’t know either, that maybe never.
I felt like a wanderer on boulevards of thoughts, under that gray sky,
Where each step was a note in a melody played softly in the soul,
As the world unfolded like an old scroll, revealing unexpected secrets,
And in every gaze I met, I searched for meaning, a connection, a moment of truth,
As if I were diving into an ocean of silences and whispers, without a compass, without time,
Wondering if poetry is nothing but a reversed coat, worn inside out.
Thus, my steps trod on the cold asphalt of the city, becoming a dance of shadows,
And in every shop window, my face changed its contour, becoming a mask of desires,
While words mingled with the wind, carrying my thoughts to infinity,
And the soul turned inside out revealed itself fragile, like a spider's web under the moon,
Waiting to be discovered, to be understood, to be read like an unwritten poem,
For perhaps, on this day, I discovered that poetry is life itself, worn inside out.

It was in the broken wing, that the bird found it’s dream
It was in the reluctant thought, that the mind knew hope
It was in the tender petal, that the dew melted gentleness
It was in the dark despair, that the mind was moved to care
It was in the silent tear, that the heart sang beauty so real
It was in the laughing smile, that the miracle would sit awhile
It was in the richest peace, that the sun shined its serenity
It was in the kindliest light, that the reflection held its enthusiasm
It was in the purest truth, that the soul realized its worth
It was in the sinner turned saint, that His grace was poured out
It was in the greatest love, that His wonder colored me free
It was in the melody’s touch, that I knew the meaning of praise
It was in the softest whisper, that my prayer found its answer
It was in the Son’s cross, that my broken heart was destined…

To uncover the meaning of forgiveness and love, His great plan
To guide us home, to the promised land – through the faith in Him,
The Son who came to give each soul a reason, a meaning, a way…
Through the darkness, through the pain – rescuing souls, inspiring
Souls to believe, so that we will finally know the meaning of God’s grace –
At the center of God’s will, where our hearts can finally be free – and SAVED!

143

In the world of love, a message so true,
With letters and numbers, I say "I love you."
For 1 is "I," 4 is "love," and 3 is "you."
A simple code, expressing what is so pure and true.

Like stars in the sky, shining bright above,
143 whispers through, a message of love.
With each digit's meaning, a feeling is conveyed,
A love that's unspoken, yet never will fade.

One is for the longing, the yearning in my heart,
Four represents affection, a love that won't depart.
Three signifies you, the one who holds my soul,
Together, forever, as two halves make a whole.

In 143, a love story unfolds,
Across the winds of time, our love never grows old.
From the first glance to the last goodbye,
143 speaks volumes, without saying why.

So let this poem be a testament true,
Of the love that is cherished between me and you.
For in this code lies a love that will be,
Forever and always, just you and me.

Premium Member The lines written in happiness are now flames dancing within me

The lines written in happiness are now flames dancing within me,
A leading role that turned me into a ghost on divine stages.
A forgotten radio play, without a director to guide its way,
Piano notes float inside me, echoes from a particular realm at bay.
Is it pleasure or fear that I feel in the depths of my profound being?
The awakening of madness, a mix of cries and deep silence, agreeing.
With trembling hands, I cling to the thin threads of reality,
A paradox opening my path to the labyrinths of eternity.
It's a bewildering paradox I live with every passing moment,
A book written by me, yet burned, leaving cold ashes in atonement.
How long will I wander this road, without a place to rest my head,
Always moving, knowing there's no home where I can be led?
I am a traveler lost in time, a dreamer without a clear aim,
In search of meaning, a longing in my soul that never fades, never wanes.
In the stream of consciousness, a silent song is born, struggles, and breaks,
And in this silence, a melancholic magic, a destiny that never forsakes.
