My Gospel Day
All of my life right to my late 20s
I had heard and read many a thing
somewhat religious at times I found
rarely at church there I loved to sing
Life wasn't too bad despite being me
meaning a stammer struggling for a word
but liked sport, movies and a good book
deep down felt something needs stirred
My girlfriend at that time took me
to her church where it blew my mind
there I was to listen to God's word
showing me I was spiritually blind
As time went on I was gripped
God put His word before my eyes
but especially the gospel of Jesus
here it was, what a surprise
Jesus Christ died for my sins
the son of God my gospel day
this day my eyes were opened
my heart touched by God's way
This way I now walk with Jesus
His blessed gospel broke in to stay
my sins were removed by His blood
thank you, Jesus, for dying at Calvary
(The best day of my life was when God broke through and revealed his word to me, showing me a sinner but revealing his son to be my saviour.)
