June, you welcome the sunset afterglow
Of a new brimming full Strawberry Moon.
The final full moon of spring you bestow.

Amid your warmest longer days’ balm flow
And shortest nights given a silver tune.
June, you welcome the sunset afterglow.

Nature's inflorescence meadows charm grow
In gleaming fabled moon heart start to swoon.
The final full moon of spring you bestow.

Summer solstice first day of season show
Children's joyful laughter till afternoon.
June, you welcome the sunset afterglow.

Romance inspires inviting night to slow
Down endow with poetic lovesick loon.
The final full moon of spring you bestow.

You brighten the world gardens with their boon
Among the rhythm rain that may be gone soon.
June, you welcome the sunset afterglow
The final full moon of spring you bestow.

Confused

I’m confused.
Not with life or people.
Not fully anyways.
With love.
Love is very confusing.
I see someone cute,
and my heart flutters,
butterflies forming in my stomach.
I’ve always had crushes,
small feelings of like,
when I think someone’s cute and kind.
But love is different for me.
I can’t stop thinking about them,
I always end up staring at them,
I can’t forget their voice,
I always want their attention.
I become obsessed.
I want them to look at me,
want them to talk to me,
want them to *see* me.
I want them to like me.
I want them to love me.
People tell me I fall in love with everyone I see,
but they’re wrong.
I’ve *liked* people,
quite a lot.
I’ve *loved* only a handful.
I want their attention,
need it, crave it.
It’s confusing.
I don’t know why I can’t help it.
Can’t control it.
I’m such a lovesick puppy it’s sickening.
I joke about it,
always putting my feelings into foolish words.
But I need the attention,
need the gaze.
Need the love.
It’s like I live off of it.
It’s sick.
It’s unhealthy.
But I can’t help it.
It’s so confusing.

Premium Member Laments of My Heart

I hear the voices you once bequeathed to me
Enchanting concert music in symphony of love
But I left the theater before the show was over
Walking all alone in the missteps of contempt,
Endorsing the reticence of unspoken words.

Deep in my psyche these memories now reside
Where devoid of fond smiles, blossoms have dried.

As I refuse to accept that I’ve lost you forever
Echoes of outcry from the unsung emotions
Poignantly evoke the saddest lines of discourse
In conversations espousing laments of my soul,

Within backstreets of mind amid chaos of thoughts
Having lost directions to dreamlands of the past,

For I refused the promise in winter’s goodbye
And rejected fiery passions of autumnal vibes,

As I squashed the dreams in flights of monarchs—
Never kissing fragrant lips of doting ambrosia.

Though you guided me through twilight of romance
I struggled in ineptitude of lovesick night of dark—

Oh, how I missed my mark beneath the northern star!

As my storm keeps churning, hosting a cyclone,
The rivers, once calm, have flooded my crops
And gusty winds ravaged dismantling my farm
And tall weeds have now occupied my sidewalks,

As dissonance of our love remorsefully squalls
Within indecisive nomenclature of my timid heart.

Premium Member Message In the Bottle

He came home from the jungle so they thought,
 A brand new man,
Left at 17 scared and alone,
With no one to hold his hand.
So he decided to tell us now
What he couldn’t say back then.
He had a plan.
And he tells us now the only way he can.
He left a message in the bottle.
He left a message in the bottle
For all the world to read
And that message in the bottle,
Only brought him pain and grief.
And that message in the bottle
Tells us about a broken man.
And the loneliness he shares within the shadows,
Of the things that might’ve been.
Of how he could not throw the stone because,
He’d seen the writing on the wall and in the the sand.
So he takes another drink and thinks,
About the girl he knew in school.
About how he wrote her everyday from the bungle in the jungle.
Like a lovesick fool.
While his buddy dies in his arms,
She sings Soldier boy
I’ll be true to you.
Neither one of them had a clue,
About the message in the bottle.
Or that the message in the bottle would leave that girl broken hearted,
And bitter,
 And black and blue.
When he came home,
With the message of the bottle.
He left a message in the bottle
For all the world to read
And that message in the bottle,
Only brought him pain and grief.
And I saw that man the other day,
And for the first time
In a long time he had,
A look of peace.
And the ex wife just turned away so sad.
All his regrets, now with him in the grave.
While their son still runs the streets.
And I guess some day he’ll have to stop and read,
The message in bottle.
It’s all his father had to leave.
He didn’t know quite how to face the pain.
He came home but his soul always stayed,
Behind the message in the bottle.
He left a message in the bottle
For all the world to read
And that message in the bottle,
Only ever brings,
pain and grief.
He found his message in the bottle.
He lost his message in a bottle.
He lost his message in the bottle.
“It’s all inside your head the other girl said”
I guess she’s never read,
The message of the bottle.

Wish I Knew You When I Was Young

I remember the first day well,
with your glorious bright red hair you burst into the room
like a struck match, and everyone's face lit up.
Model, comedienne, everyone's favourite Auntie, crush,
paramour in dreams, happiness in stilettos, all bundled into one
like a Swiss Army Knife.
Watching you smile was like opening a Christmas present,
and when you laughed, it fizzed and popped like party wine.
When you boarded my bus, akin to some lovesick schoolboy
I'd cross my fingers
and wish and wish that you'd sit with me,
and when you did, though I sat still, my whole insides went 'HOORAY!!'.
From Reiki healing to old Hollywood musicals,
whatever you spoke of
I was held rapt.
You could read the ingredients off the back of a tin of curry
and you would still enchant me.
I'm sure that the moment you were conceived, the Good Lord,
like a bomb disposal expert,
cut the wires marked 'sadness', and you emerged not with a cry,
but a giggle.
If you were any lovelier, you would have exploded,
and the whole town would have been covered
in a thick, gooey layer of lovely.
What a magnificent disaster that would have been.
Instead, you were taken cruelly-
Cancer isn't fussy whose friends it takes,
and on the clearest days my sunshine seems dimmer now.
Grief that soaks like cold rain only lessened by gratitude in having known you.
Just wish we'd crossed paths sooner.
Or I could live my life backwards.
Miss you x

Premium Member Venom and Stardust

Though I yearn for eternal rest
and free from his violation
I unravel in his charismatic force
compelled by wild dark eyes
I am but a frail heirloom
composed, submissive, spellbound tied
In the arms of uncertainty
a daughter of Athena
enduring loves legacies, courted by gods
desired by many suitors
cursed by others jealousy and ruling reigns
Two immortal flames
mortal eternals, there is no conforming
 We drink from the aguarossa
blood-red rose redeemer
 in our underworld’s Leviticus larva
 naught rituals regress
 our binds cannot be broken
Forever rooted in our rapturous rhythm
 plucked from poetic plight
I am but sparkling stardust, silica dense
spoiled by his fire, enwrapped in his core,
whilst I dance upon his soul
On a pedestal, where he has taken me,
a gypsum statue on his Tristan thrown,
he jots his visceral venom vignette
entrapping me in bane sonnets
It’s a god forbidden grapnel gameboard,
where dark words rise like blades of passion
 in roulette’s rivalry, his cabaret
Goddesses being the hecatomb
in chivalries of chaotic romanticism
I long to be set free, released
from the portrait I am fated to portray
from lovesickness, unbereft of love's vow
from the bound wrists in gyves
free from his violation
 I yearn for eternal rest

Premium Member To Bee Or Not To Bee

Once there was a haughty queen
who decided to spend more time on
her own:

here, there, she flew everywhere
followed by a lovesick drone --

She said: "little man, you're not
in my plan...please find a poem
all your own!"

Himself, no good at gathering nectar...after
thought said, "The heck with her!"
Wasting no time, instead of wallowing
in self-pity, moved to the big city, wrote
a book on Hive Theory: how drones are
mere sex objects, sleepless, eyes bleary

With profits from his book, opened a bank
offering no penalty early liquidity -- finally, some
respect for drones, bee dandies feeling hopeless
and weary. Up till then having little other choice
but to serve the whims of Her majesty, often royally
finicky, they began investing their nest-eggs of sweets
for retirement in our protagonist's very successful,
totally liberating, high dividend paying -- novel

Savings And Drone.

Premium Member Along the Planks of Destiny

In dreadful hours of tatterred spires and bones ,
The same ballroom rhapsody is calling me
Where he and I grasped serendipity as lovesick travelers
Above and around the pewter of an endless sea.

Walking along the deck to breathe the mist of stars
Our twin-like aspirations drew so many familiar sides ,
Where unchained secrets roamed with the floating liner
Above and around charmed flaps of Atlantic’s rides.

Then, a glacier blast tugged my drowsy body in Carpathia
Recalling how he kissed the moon upon my hand,
I heard him shout,” be brave ; we will meet again”;
Above and beyond flotsams of bloodied bags of sand

Glimpses of pounding floors rile, a scene set in darkness
Where howling fingers of voyagers devoured the gloom,
As he raced against the acrid swell of mid-April’s breath
Above and below, an awful sound of ocean's deep tomb

Within the heart of me, I pray he is alive and safe
For what we shared in contours of nights shall always be,
A longing so timeless ; I wait in hope like a stray ocean crest
Above and down, and up the planks of uncertain destiny

Premium Member How Dare You

How dare you brazenly walk
As my every dream you stalk
In the hallways of my mind
Where my heart you must find
Like this is your place
You just simply pace
Free in your domain
You drive me insane
Shoulders set back
You’re on the attack
Head held high
For you know why
You walk down this hall
You know I‘ll come when you call
And you SMILE
How VILE
HOW DARE YOU!

How dare you look at me like that
Like we’ve made a love pact
So smug and so sure
Your pride I endure
You make me swoon
Lovesick under the moon
You make my legs go weak
Put the color in my cheek
When your pass my way
The sun shines in my day
And I don’t know why
I might fall over and die
To get a taste of paradise
With just a look in your eyes
HOW DARE YOU!

How dare you play with me
Like some squishy toy
You tease and annoy
Bend me all out of shape
And yet you won’t stop the game
For you have no shame
You go on and squeeze
Just being a tease
Every day it’s the same
You're the one to blame
HOW DARE YOU!

How dare you
Hook me with words
When you know full well
Your words cast a spell
And I can’t even breathe
When my heart starts to read
The little hidden love note
Oh, how you must gloat
To sense I’m starting to melt
With every power felt
You now turn on the heat
Make my demise complete
HOW DARE YOU!!!!

How dare you
Trick me to rant and rave
Make me feel brave
To spill out my heart
Of which you want no part
But you want to hear
How I hold you dear
And so you entice
Add so much spice
To all that you write
And I’m plunged into night
A poor helpless soul
Who’s too honest to hold
The love tight in my heart
And so you start
The turn my heart’s crank
And relish your prank
Make me march straight to you
Knowing what you will do
Give me a love peck
And leave me a wreck
HOW DARE YOU!!!!

i go to sleep and im still 16

rueful villanelles melt beautifully in the night
and everything i've ever wanted
woefully illuminates the lugubrious skyline ~

eyelids brushing against an elegiac stillness ,
momentarily forgetting a mother's absence --
aching viscerally in a daughter's lovesick soul ~

and father's half-witted love
whispers goldened gardenias
of untold possibilities..

whilst i lay beneath forlorn angels
swooning a starlight-kissed course ~

reflecting a wistful silence filled with dusky desire --
as rubied rage devouring my malnourished being
resigns itself into moonless melancholy in a velvety twist... ~

oh, a dreamless love so viscously stripped !
a little girl trapped in the hour before dawn
left to wonder atrociously among prussian blue fields ..

unnoticed, overlooked, bluefully woe and stubbornly..
her submissive naivety retreating indigo reveries --
to be left with nothing but bittersweet afterglows
of what's left of a peony-dipped past ~

as a fathomless craving for a lovesick dream
fades into a gloaming angst of saudade starvation ,
cascading into starless fade
of hopelessness ~
