Just a Cold

“It’s just a cold,” the doctor said,
But every time I cough,
I worry when I’m on the plane,
They’ll want me to get off.

“It’s just a cold,” he reassured;
“You’ll have to wait it out.
I’ll give you meds but you should know
Their helpfulness I doubt.”

“It’s just a cold – you’re lucky
There’s no fever and no aches.
To heal, get lots of rest and liquids –
That’s just what it takes.”

“It’s just a cold” is what I’m told
Yet Monday I’ll be flying.
I’m following the doc’s advice;
I’m really really trying.

For traveling has lots of stress
And sickness, in addition,
Despite it being “just a cold,”
Will worsen that condition.

The Secret

THE SECRET

Shh! The walls have ears; let them not hear you
Let no other ear hear this! Threatening warnings of my father
Compelled alliance with my father; concealing the truth from my mother
Sight of my mother’s ignorant face; pierces my heart for ever knowing what I can’t say
All for peaceful co-existence; infidelity of a careless father.

Silent whispers, hush sounds; the atmosphere seemed tense
The truth clung to my mouth like school kids shown the cane; I gave the lie
Incapacitated by destitution; circled in a transfixed indecision with quavering lips
Just sitting on the fence; eyes that saw the truth but went blind on it.

The remembrance; the ugly promise of sealed lips
Kleptomaniac tongue; always pouring lies with reasons
Eyes that said one thing but meant another; can’t betray itself
If this mouth ever opens to say the truth; ugly liquids will flow from the human lake.

You are guilty! Accusing anthem of his conscience
A reminder of how a truth from his tied tongue could have saved a life
Just only two ugly options to choose; the truth or the lie
Chose the favourable lest the unfavourable will make him the enemy
All for friendship sake; a secret only to the ears of the grave.

Burning Man Part2

You refuse, refusing the salvant call,
laying there in fetal position,
enthralled by my hex of vinegar and scrawl of liquids release that just seem to pour out of me organically.
Hissing in Wormwood's frequency dwelling, Hollywood "your signature home" learning-annex-auxilliary.
My park and recreation facility.
Reserved, this space taken.
A dump, next to unopened salve
and not knowing your own, side-bar-by-law$.
An unlived, contrived existence, of litigation before dawn.
So shine on, shine on,
Dear: ) (Newton Star blink out before the gravity of
persistence, taken aside, the watchtower of your keen eyed media straddle, beacons a distress
call, to your final hour.
The time your nightwatch is voyeur
procured.
Humpty Dumpty asses with sulphur in their saltwatering laffy Taffy maws, fixed, agape, ajar."Give me some sugar baby."

Jezebellians, you shunned, the truth, when it was audio visually- bore.
Gored yourself on the posts of a grinding of mandibles and dripping blood upon the crucible stone and forbidden bindings.
No white night when a guiding light
doth shine on dead eyes.
No silver linings filling those cavities.
Only self, depravity.
Will be mouthed from the still-shine forever moored.
Uttered where windmills churn electro
Codes of algo-executionary tables
to turn.
Churning the butter of temptation
with pouting maid determination.
Mitigated, my starlings it is for,
the ungrateful scored.
Cookie cutter milkmaids of
factorized words.
Music for Nations.
A union of the snake said Plato.

Fall from the night.
As an Nova of unbeknownst, essence,
implode yourself of something more,
lost in the mire of the ignorance of indifference, onloaded to fill an emptiness void of frivolous showroom and commercials shined core.
Enjoy the aftermath in my garden.
Take another bite of my lore.
Rise, a new creation, in new age culturism,
the retro- reel of Humanism, of illusionary-fusion of pride and behind the scenes thrones.
Slavery algorithms,
my Holograms of flesh and Bones.
Burning out on the Threshing floor.

Premium Member Rain Song

Densest fog hovers over the mountains,
Blue ridges reformed, now steely,
Gray as the moment just before dawn,
When silence bleeds her dreams
Through the still, cool light
Graceful as the sigh,
Wistful as the music’s rhythm
Sustenance for fires,
Breathed from trembling oaks, birthed by hearts,
Grieving as the December storms,
Shattering the moments, stricken by burning
Promises, echoed on the shadows,
Filling the moments,
Erasing the naked branches
With mists in hues of muddled misery.

Rain sprinkles, showers - nervous,
Shuddering and shaking,
Breaking through the reticence,
Rhythms in puddles,
Muzzled by the rocky moments,
When hope explains her dreams,
Hushing the wind,
Refusing to let the rain’s gentling,
Stir the mystery,
Anonymous liquids, melting the feelings,
Blown carefully into piles,
Across the deep woods, heavy with wet,
Aching to be dried by the fires of the sunlight,
Reflecting all the poetry
Growing its wonder from stark naked limbs,
Shattered by the past,
Who still listens amid the smoky grief,
Melting away the peaks…

Quiet mountains, cerulean hills –
Tempted by drizzling streams,
Hesitating, torrents
Flowing over the nights, blessed with dreams.
Rain, wistful and full of peace …
Stirs the shining emerald stones,
Muffled by the soft cadence,
Rain, measured – pulsing, a melody,
Lifting the hymns from the hills,
Agile as melancholy breaks
Through the dreams,
Dignified and lissome, willowy
As the edges of a forest
Where dejected stumps and decaying leaves,
Breathe out a dismal affection,
For the layers of lasting peace, serenity
Poured out over the blue ridge mountains,
Who grieve quietly for November’s thirsty tedium,
October’s gasping glory and September’s
Soothing psalms, promising
Wonder that will last all year long,
All year long – as the rain pelts the thoughts…
In breathless tears poured out
From bleeding clouds, milked by December’s doubts.

...and the wind..!
 was,
electric.
there was water..!
there was sun..!
...it was all renewable...
the energy,
powered,
sustained,
life..!

Fossil liquids burning
emitting toxins
that was OUR mistake.
From the day a human kick started
wound up the first combustible engine..!

The first spill in any ocean
should have been our clue.

It was what cigarettes was to lungs-
-what alcohol was to brain cells.

It was a human error,
a human error so huge
that like a mythical dragon
assumed a life of its own
consumed the will
the power
the limited minds
of limited men.

Unlike the giant beast
veiled as nuclear power
with its unlimited potential
that would have wooed the minds
of the greatest among us,
oil from its inception
had the smell of destruction on its breath.

It would in its own way
fulfil the prophecy
the world would end
with a whimper not a bang.

We saw its horns
its bright red skin
 its pitch fork
but we signed up willingly
...and from that day on
our eternal souls were damned.

THE CHEMISTRY WE SHARED

Unlike an apple falling from a tree
We were floating aloft, hearts very free
The force we shared was magnetic
Drawing us closer like molecules in a compound

We defied the laws of motion
Embarking on a whirlwind of innovation.
Even when we rest, our emotions danced
A perpetual celebration!

But like any scientific experiment
Our reactions became unpredictable
The elements that once harmonized
Began to drift apart, signaling our end

Yet like liquids in a Bunsen burner
The chemistry in our hearts' laboratories lingers
Though as heteronuclear molecules we now stand
The chemistry we shared was truly grand.

Security Check

When visiting my aunt,
We always bring a special treat.
It's halva made from sesame,
A Middle Eastern sweet.

But very often it gets flagged
'Cause agents have no clue
Exactly what this item is;
Our bags do not go through.

They took my husband's backpack
And removed things, one by one,
As if they thought they'd find a knife
Of liquids or a gun.

Instead, the female TA
Reached inside and she did seize
Our wrapped up treasure and she asked
"What is this? Looks like cheese."

My husband nodded, yes it is
'Cause if he did explain
It's candy from the Middle East -
What could we really gain?

They placed it on the X-ray belt
In their unsmiling mode
To double-check this piece of "cheese"
Would somehow not explode.

At last they waved us on, but when
We pack our next surprise,
We'll pick a treat my aunt will love
And agents recognize!

Be What You Wanna Be

Be what you wanna be
Don’t let anyone judge you
Or mistaken you as a fool
Be what your heart desires
Don’t let anyone control your life
Or stomp on you like a mat

Be what you were destined to be
I can care less about what the others’ think
Don’t let them bother you so
Forget about the others…worry about yourself
Place them on another shelf

Be strong…and you’ll belong
In the arms of angels…comforted by cotton candy clouds
Don't allow the liquids to spring out of your eyes...
God will reveal to us His replies
If only we've prayed sooner...but He forgave us immediately
He'll set us free...
Be brave, unlike me

There will be an end to pain and suffering
The chaos will keep on erupting…
Danger is coming our way,
But stay calm and it’ll soon go away
Like the storm…diminishing
And transforming into a sunny day
I pray that you have a blessed week
I'm feeling weak from this fever that's burning up in my head
I'll try not to puff up like leavened bread
There's something up with you...
What is it? Is it something new?
I feel for you...I really do want to help you out
I want to lead you to a peaceful route
And shoo those enemies out!

They can tell their insults in my face!
I'll slap them and make them look like a disgrace!

They can say anything they wish,
But they won’t be able to reduce you to anguish
