2 Cents Comments On Violence

I’ll drop verses on a sensitive subject.
Reflecting on an issue we can inspect.
That painful topic is domestic violence.
Showing not just in victim body dents.

Many times there’s no sign of the beating.
Like when stopping a partner from eating.
Or controlling their actions through fear.
Who mask the torture and wipe the tear.

By threatening a spouse to dominate.
Confusing the reality of love and hate.
By using children as pawns in the game.
Victim is a scapegoat, always to blame.

Blows can be swung and not returned.
Bruises are hidden but safety is burned.
Tricks to conceal the daily hell are played.
So an organization years ago was made.

For helping those hurt with info and tools.
Since this topic is rarely taught in schools.
Providing aid and resources to survive.
Restoring abused dignity so they thrive.

So take some time to call the support line.
Or click the links after this rhyme of mine.
Take advantage of this great free system.
To begin healing from harm done by them.

The National Resource Center of Domestic Violence.
Has a website thats helps victims sitting on the fence.
So if these verses make you ready to engage.
Come check out the NRCDV.org page.

The Answer

“The Answer”
by:  Eric L. Boddie

Even though it is nearing the end of day number seven
There is still time to find the Stairway to Heaven
Because I Am………………God

I am able to heal you with my strength
And break the chain with the missing links
Because I Am………………God

Through the courage it takes to be humble as myself
I have the Power to truly conquer death
Because I Am………………God

In times of doubt, and when hope is lost
I have no fear, I don’t have to pay the cost
Because I Am………………God

When death is near, and you don’t know what to do
The Power of my Prayer can see you through
Because I Am………………God

When your load is heavy and you need the back of a man
It is my duty to extend to you my hand
Because I Am………………God

When everywhere you look, there is hate, and everyone wants to push and shove
Come and find me, I won’t show you anything but Love
Because I Am………………God

And when it is time for us to see our Father and His Son
All any one of us can say is “this is what I’ve done”
Because I Am………………God

His Name is I Am, but you may know Him as God
Is He in you?

Premium Member Finally Saved Part 3 - Translation From Rabindranath Tagore

This is the THIRD AND FINAL PART of the poem - translated from Rabindranath Tagore's "NISKRITI".

Leaving all embarrassment and diffidence,
the daughter spoke without hesitation,
to the father,
"We hear you are going to get married.
We, all your children and grandsons and granddaughters -
you are going to humiliate all of us?
You are going to forget our mother?
You are so heartless? "

Father smiled a dry smile, and said
"Everybody knows I am hard!
It is very difficult for me to get re-married,
But household duties
remain incomplete without a wife -
All scriptures - from Monu to Mahabharat will support that.

The path of religion is not easy.
It's not only shedding tears from our hearts,
The person who is afraid of accepting sorrow, and causing sorrow,
Why does that coward come to the earth? "

The bride's paternal home is in Bakhargunj,
The groom went there,
a few days before the wedding.
At last when came back with a wife
to his own home,
Manjulika wasn't there.

Learned from reading a letter
Pulin married her,
and they left for Farakkabad,
decided to settle there.
Father was furious,
And cursed them again and again.

Premium Member Dear Child

As you wander, my dear child grow,
Live fond wonder as warm chimes cheer;
Be brave, be bold as love meets flow,
Choice now unfolds true charm right here.

Forge mind and heart, my curious child,
Live peace that starts with happy play;
Be of good cheer with stern and mild,
Let bold thoughts steer your voice each day.

Seek silence where your soul knows peace,
Learn stillness there to groom your way;
Watch hope show how to dance warm lease,
Prize faith right now in gentle sway.

Keep a warm touch that anchors joy,
Be true as such with curious stance;
Learn to be calm as conflict toys,
Spread healthy balm in glimpse and chance.

Love keeps you strong to live finesse,
Dare to live long with purpose bold;
Walk your own path with genuine zest,
Learn your own stuff and bear the cold.

Your passion knows a succinct style,
Each action grows a lavish verge;
Love stays to ground each lovely smile,
Dare to go round with vibrant urge.

Life is a place where time meets space,
Here and now grace moves health and soul;
Discern and earn the face you trace,
Know as you learn to live one whole.

May blessings seed your goal and plot,
Dear child you need to be in-sync;
Be aware then of conscious thought,
Live now not when to cast fine links.

Watch life unfold in myriad ways,
Dare to feel bold to live with cheer;
Each step you take can fashion stay,
Love helps you make your now and here.

Honour truth well as grace shows how,
Integrity dwells with soul at peace;
Purpose shows you true pleasure now,
Action pays due to grand life lease.

Speed on your way in the clear light,
Frame your brave stay with ample fest;
Face to face greet such sparkling sights,
Live what you meet with bubbly jazz.

Old and New 4 : Continue To Sing

OLD AND NEW 4 : CONTINUE TO SING

Sipping cold champagne in silver
cuff links at Thai restaurants
eating red curried prawns
while workers gape at
former leaders sold

Forlorn women starve
in naked hospital corridors
rulers drool in blue pools
with pink jewelled lovers

Rushing from airport to airport
bargaining for who knows
On plains of poverty children
whimper bony arms in
tattered sad sleeves

Slick smiles in linen jackets
mansions highly securitied
Ideals trickling through loamy soil
deep it will surely root anew

Waves upon waves descend
embracing hills with a roar
and throaty directions
to stop senseless hacking
Life rebirths from an unknown hole

Continue to softly sing simple
songs of freedom
exhale from a glittering axis
knowing sacred geometry

Premium Member Part Time Poet

There are parts of a whole and time undivided

	A poet is more than an inkwell lost in half essence

Opposites contradictions and strife for harmony

	An abundance of minutes and a scribe just the same

The nib scratches the surface and yet the fountain

	Emerges from the bottomless depth of the well

When blotches and smudges refused to emerge from the pot

	He utilizes festering wounds and heart blood

Treasures of hope joy and exuberant passion

	Links dot to dot on canvass of words never lost

Fragments remain but he rearranged schedules

	Measures rhythm rhyme and meters connections

Some call him a part time ‘unemployed’ poet

	‘It’s just a hobby and foolish distraction’

Others reminded him that muse and artistic endeavour

	Would not feed his body but he stomachs the pain

‘Irresponsible and insane’ yet one more accusation

	A dreamer reckless idealist refusing to grow up and get real

A scriptorium can never be a half-way house and Tim is

	A full slate writer whatever the say to diminish his craft

The Loneliness Of Company

A party lingers in the stillness of a room.
Chairs moved, plates stacked, glasses
stained in red lipstick of after dinner
chatter. Cutlery criss-crossed, mosaic.

For a moment, when front door fits frame,
when lock links to latch, the breath of guests
gone hovers in air still scented by perfume,
by scotch; by hands shook, by the smoke of talk
fading.

A hangover of noise threatens. Looms like approaching thunder.
Sharp shooting light lashes down in distance, counting…
twenty Mississippi, then ten... five, then three, then -

the bubble bursts. A silent shatter.

Seats house ghosts and footsteps echo dust
as though a party never happened here:

the loneliness of company again.

Aim for your goal, aim for your poise;
Be who you are, be of fond glow;
Charm speaks of soul, charm wears sure voice.

Do weave your thoughts, do word your song;
Etch dear fine star, etch style you know;
Feel surge of plot, feel work made strong.

Give joy full range, give play a chance;
Heed waves that please, heed touch that stays;
Image crafts strange, image signs dance.

Jazz up your zest, jazz up your flings;
Keep up with ease, keep up with play;
Live well your best, live what love brings.

Meet all you face, meet all you touch;
Note how you feel, note what you think;
Opt for clear trace, opt for cheer's nudge.

Peace comes to steer, peace speaks of grace;
Quest lines and heals, quest fits new links;
Reap waves of cheer, reap sense of space.

Sense a new world, sense a grand calm;
Trust heart to know, trust mind to learn;
Urge serves a twirl, urge spreads a balm.

Vouch for each day, vouch for sure stay;
Wisdom funds flow, wisdom now yearns;
eXcite fond say, eXcite free play;
Zeal ever glows, zeal ever earns.

Premium Member Hope

Hope, a window
in which to see
tomorrow's sunrise.
The door in which
to enter the kingdom
of possibilities.
The balloon floating
over a stygian abyss.
The wheel
in which pregnant dreams
are spun.
The bridge that links
the trying present
to an auspicious future.
The thing
to steadfastly cling to
in the midst
of pessimism;
in the midst
of trials and tribulations.
On his pilgrimage,
Christian clutched to hope
as he traveled...
from the City
of Destruction
to the Celestial City.
Hope was
all that remained
in Pandora's box
When the ills of the world
flew out
with a gale-force wind.
The deus-ex-machina
that swooped down
when sucked into
the vortex
of a catastrophe;
when calamity
roared like thunder.

Links of the Heart

Smooth touch close to the heart
The light pressure to check for symptoms
The warmth of heat that comes to feel
Her whimsical methods of breath
She can hear the slowness of peace
No strife or anger in the voice
A motivation that pulls the sickness away
She listens to every pain and sorrow
Mothers never stray from her children's voice
Always ready to feed, to listen
A cough concerns her will an intuition
Caring without notice, that is mother
She understands the scar that lays
Even when silent she knows her child
Every word every smile and giggle
It gets absorbed by listening with care
Mother always looks and never delays
If delayed it is that she was listening
The obvious is her way to track
Listening to the beckoning calls 24/7
