The day that I have prayed for,
Has finally come true.
For I am now and forever more,
NO longer married to you.
Over are the days of running scared,
And hiding out of fear.
My head is high and shoulders squared,
Inside and out I constantly cheer.
No more bruises of black and blue.
No more tears will be shed.
The divorce took the years of two
It is if we were never had wed.
No more angst and strife.
No more lies and alibis.
I am no longer your wife.
This leads to my last surprise.
The surname of Shipp which I despise,
Is gone and now for sure,
I here and now arise
Officially forever I am a De La Keur.

A decade together with you,
Loving and learning all ways new.
What is a decade? A decade is ten years,
Ten years of love, laughter, and some tears.
A decade is one hundred twenty months,
A lot of kisses, hugs, but no regrets, not once.
A decade is five hundred twenty-two weeks,
Oh, the highs, the lows, we’ve hit, even several peaks!
A decade is three thousand six- hundred fifty-two days,
We’ve loved each other in good times and bad, we can count the ways.
A decade is eighty-seven thousand, six-hundred fifty-eight hours.
You’ve given your love, kindness, bravery, strength as shared powers.
A decade is five-million, two-hundred fifty-nine thousand, four hundred ninety-two minutes.
Oh, my love, our life, and love together have known no bounds or limits!
A decade is three-hundred fifteen million five hundred sixty-nine thousand five-hundred twenty seconds.
So many kisses, nights of lovemaking, memories made...oh how our future beckons.
We have had a decade of love, fun, good times, and bad.
I would not trade a single one, I, for one, am so very glad.
Glad we met, glad we’ve loved, and glad we are now married.
I am so excited to see how our love has throughout carried.
A decade is not nearly long enough to know,
Yet, for many more years, my love for you I will show.
But, I just want to make you aware,
That I will forever love you, Bear.

My Darling Boy, Casey
My darling baby boy, Casey
You’ve brought me so much joy.
When they took you away from me
I was gutted & I felt that I could no longer breathe.
My whole world was legitimately gone.
I was distinctly lost,
My heart was covered in frost.
Soon, it would be somewhat thawed,
It was extraordinarily …odd.
Flawed as my heart may be,
My heart is full of love for my whimsical family
You always made me smile
With your unique style.
When you came back into my life
I was euphoric, despite the considerable strife.
I just wanted your love, I needed to feel like
I was a decent mom,
It was my second chance; I did not want to blow it, even worse, I did not want to be an outright bomb.
You’re special and unquestionably unique to me
And to this side of your extended family.
You have some poor traits
It is your unique charm that lets you to get by and skate
I miss your sarcasm and sharp wit
And for many days, I miss you, and how you just fit
Right into this family blend. I miss the silly times
Even you secretly recording me on Snapcat, and how you
Would forget boundaries and would oftentimes
How you could be so sweet and make me smile
Even when this world was so vile
I believed you loved me. Was I a fool?
Or just some sort of tool
To get back at your dad?
I hope you recognize how much you mean to me
My darling boy, Casey.

He is:
Wounded and broken,
Terribly soft-spoken.
He used:
To be so full of life and zest,
And was always on some quest.
He is:
So incredibly withdrawn,
And all his smiles are gone.
He used:
To be without any fear,
And always full of cheer.
He is:
An artist that is incredibly gifted,
And his rare smiles make my heart uplifted.
He is:
So smart and bright that when he does write
His stories, your imagination he does ignite.
Why can't he:
See that for him I would walk through fire,
And stand there and face his everlasting ire?
Why can't he:
See that I would give my very last breath,
In order that he never has to face death?
Why can't he:
Realize that I hate to see
Him so wounded before me?
Does he:
Not know that from the very start,
He grabbed a hold of my heart?
Will he:
Ever be able to see,
That he is the world to me?
He is:
Never to be outdone,
For he is my second-born son.
He needs:
To see whether this trouble or some other,
That I am here and will ALWAYS be his mother!
He needs:
To know that no matter his grudge
Or what he decides to do, I will not judge!
He needs:
To know that no matter the strife
He may cause, but he is still my WHOLE life!

ROOTS
A fallen seed left bare and alone
Whisked away far from home
She lives in the shadows, waiting for the day
When the warmth and light would come her way
She weathers the storms in solitude and despair
Wondering if there is anyone to care
She remains diligent as she is beaten to the ground
Holding on for dear life, trying not to make a sound
Would anyone hear her if she cried?
Would it matter if she continued to try?
Days turned into years as her roots were set into place
Growing stronger, the storms she could now face
The clouds parted and the sun beamed
It was on this day, that she finally felt seen
All of the fight and tenacity through the doubt
She had a purpose, her leaves began to sprout
They swayed back and forth, she knew this was the reason why
All of the pain came to this, the reason that she tried
They were hers, so delicate and true
She had to protect them, so they would never have to go through
Wondering if they were loved or if they had a home
She was theirs and they would never be alone
More storms came and went but together they stood tall
She knew this time was bittersweet, eventually like her, they would fall
The seasons rotated and the day had come
For her precious sprouts to drift away, one by one
She knew this would happen, but knowing did not seem to stop the ache
Watching the extensions of herself, slowly drift away
She held her ground, knowing the breeze would carry them on their pursuit
She had faith they would flourish because in their hearts they knew,
They came from strong roots

Dedicated to my children
Time Capsule
I am lying in this bed in this room.
My bedroom that has become my tomb.
A time capsule of the past.
Of days that didn't last.
My children have chosen not to visit me, nary a call. They've left me in this tomb of yesteryear.
Hoping for the day they once again will. appear.
I had a stroke.
I assure it's not a joke.
It left me dependant on others for care.
All this is, for me, one giant scare.
In my room, memories encompassing me of days long past.
Awaiting when my children will call, dare I dream, they visit me at long last.
Until then, I am in the room.
That has become my tomb.
In this tomb of memories, I silently & solemnly cry.
Fearing, I'll be here alone & forgotten by my children, until the day I finally die.

One of the taken three,
Has returned home to me.
Five years he has been gone
So some days he is still withdrawn.
I am happy to have him here,
I no longer have the fear,
That he will not be free
As he is home with me.
There are new journeys to be had.
He will triumph though, like a good lad.
He is, after all, my son,
He will have his victory in the long run.
Of him, I am very proud,
This emotion is allowed.
He is now a young man
Moving on with his plan.
He is enrolled and going to school,
Where he will shine and rule.
My son will show them all
How well he can stand tall.

When you were born, I did not know what to do,
You see, I was only just the age of two.
Wherever I went, so did you
You see, we were stuck together like glue.
Then as we grew up, we started drifting apart.
Yet, you see, you were always in my heart.
If I knew what was meant by those mean boys would impart.
They would no longer have a mouthpart.
As adults, we do not always agree.
However, you mean the world to me.
We lost one sister, something no one could foresee.
Grief brought us back together and we set our squabbles free.
Know that no matter what,
We will always follow our gut,
We will never believe the scuttlebutt
That we are told, we will allow the world to shut.
Aleera, you are my sister now and forever,
And these new bonds I do not want to sever.
I will always be here for you whenever,
And these horrible storms we shall, together, weather.

Happy Birthday, my sister, dear.
How I wish you were still here.
Today is, for me, a solemn day.
Oh, how I wish, you could leave your Heaven today.
I wish you could see your son.
He's retreated to a place where feelings are none.
As for Aleera, she seems to miss you the most.
She walks around as if she's a ghost.
If it brings her happiness to see you for a day.
There is not a price too high I would pay.
I try to be here for her like you would do.
The problem, however, is I am not you.
So, maybe the day that came for a visit from death,
It should have been me to have drawn my last breath.
Then Aleera could be happy once again.
For then she would have some peace and zen.
Yet, Death took you and not me.
As you would say, that was meant to be.
For Aleera, this year has been hard.
Her heart has forever been placed under guard.
Not even I, her big sister, will she let through.
You know that for now and forever she will want you.
Happy Birthday, Illy, for my love for you will never cease.
May you now and forever be in tranquility and at peace.

We sisters three
Do so decree
That these men
Know their sin.
Reaz, you mortal Fool
Illy was your sacred Jewel.
How could you endlessly cheat
And lead her on with such deceit?
We sisters three
Do so eloquently decree
That these foolish men
Never ever hurt again.
Lamar you are a lazy bum.
To crack you always succumb.
Leerie was a wonderful wife
Yet, your words wound like a knife.
We sisters three
Do so powerfully decree
That these thoughtless men
Feel agonizing pain within.
Daniel the monster you are
Never saw Kristy as a star.
She was just someone to beat
Whenever you felt other defeat,
We sisters three
Do so expressly decree
These imprudent mortal fools
Learn a new set of rules.
We rhythmically dance and sway
While words of ancient knowledge do play
Powerfully upon our very lips
During the Lunar Eclipse.
Our wish we do so prayerfully want
Your dreams we shall constantly haunt
Until you learn that your evil deeds
Will never ever fruitfully succeed.
