One December Night
Mama, at the oven, was taking cookies out. When she turned around quickly to see what
the shouts were about, the cookies started sliding. And almost hit the floor. But the frog
took his wand from his sack by the door and started to say magic words galore.
“Alacafrogsky majikazam, make those cookies go back into the pan.” To everyone's
surprise, those gingerbread men stopped in thin air, reversed, took a spin. Then headed
right back to the pan again. Wide eyed, that is when the family realized that the frog at their
table was not like other frogs.
And while doing magic, the frog said to the mouse, “You better start running, and I mean
fast right out of this house.” And as Dad, with his broom, was about to lower the boom, the
mouse left the house wearing a great big brown mouse frown. Then, Dad with a smile and
real puzzled look put the broom down and the frog's hand he shook.
At half past mid-night on that cold winter night the frog and his magic brought one family
delight. So, he stayed and ate cookies along with the girls. And he took from his bag, lots of
toys and some pearls. He gave each one gifts. Then, closed up his brown sack. But as
he headed for the door, together they said, “Wait! Come back! We have a gift for your
sack!
He turned around fast with a twinkle in his eye. Then, the children ran to him with hugs
and with sighs. They gave him big kisses. He smiled deep inside as they put one big gift
marked for Santa in his bag.
All of a sudden with no warning at all, a bright cloud of sparkles surrounded the frog.
Magically, right in front of them all, they discovered that the frog was not a frog at all! In just
a
few moments, when all of the sparkles were gone, there stood Santa Claus. Had something
gone wrong? His face was delighted. He had a big smile. All of the elves hiding began to
come out. Those tiny little people sang loudly, and danced. “Santa is back. They have
broken the spell. Be sure to go everywhere and tell, tell, tell!"

Pumpkin
. I’m
A
melon
From which pies are made.
Have a fright? I used to cure snakebite!
And I removed speckles from people with freckles.
90% water, oh, so delicious. There’s more. I’m nutritious.
Eat me. What, can I say? You’ll get potassium and vitamin A.
That’s why I’ve been used in soups and stews. And not just in pies,
Surprise! Surprise!!! Here’s a fact that’s incredible. My flowers are edible.
Earliest ancestors’ seeds were N-a-t-i-v-e to the A-m-e-r-i-c-a-s. Believe!!!
Did you know? My h-e-r-e-d-i-t-y dates back to 5,000 years. Long, long ago!
That’s not all. Native Americans, with honey in vats, used me to weave their mats.
Here are some facts to make your mind glisten. Early settlers used to- now listen!
Make C_R_U_S_T_S!!! That’s right, I was used in piecrust and NOT poured inside.
That seems in some ways eerily chilling! A pumpkin piecrust with cherry pie filling
Oh, what’s all the fuss about pumpkin piecrust? Minced meat? Or a peachy treat!
Welcome. Come in. Join the fun. Prop up your feet, in the shade, not the sun.
Squash. Cucumbers. We’re all kin. Can you guess what family we’re in?
Cucurbita. I’ll say it again and again. Our family name is Cucurbita.
Cucurbita! Cucurbita! Cucurbita! Cucurbita! Cucurbita!
We're not just jack-o-lanterns. See!!!

Ah here it is again woven baskets filled with chocolate bunnies
Jelly beans of assorted colors and a soft stuffed rabbit
Time to gather around a well-set table for a feast
Joyful smiles and well-dressed family members joined together
Then there’s the real truth ~~~~~~
Well your brother and his annoying wife and kids are late
The ham you have in the oven won’t be ready on time
Grandmother is complaining about being cold
Grandfather keeps moving his artificial teeth around his mouth
Your sister comes over with an unannounced guest that's drunk
Then there the brothers that’s always on time with the worst behaved kids
There they are running all over the house with twisted shirts and bow ties
They got the cat up and are tormenting the heck out of her
Finally time to eat dinner oh this and that pass the peas
“Where’s the wine” heckling out from your sister's drunk guest
Spilled messes from the kids on your favorite tablecloth
“Oh don’t worry it will come out sure your thinking under your breathe, brats “
Oh the moments turn to 10 grueling hours from hell but we keep our smile pasted on
As you speed up the desert and count while they sending out their goodbye kisses
One by one and there waiting for you a kitchen from hell and two tired feet
Oh the joys of family gatherings it almost makes you wish they were everyday don’t they?
To this date I have not yet broken
my folowing holiday tradition.

I hope that this greeting finds you and yours in the very best of spirit and health.
This is the time of year when many will discover their Good, their Spiritual Wealth.
For many others out there this will be a time of despair,
of hardship and personal grief.
Feelings of depression and loneliness during this most joyous time
can be very joyless to say the least.
Perhaps you've been one of these people
or this greeting before you would not be being read by you now.
Along with the Enclo$ed is my simple request:
Continue This Tradition Some How.
Each year at this time search out a family, a family in need of some help.
A family whose Holiday Season will not be so joyously and lovingly felt,
then anonymously send them along with this greeting what ever you then can afford.
It's my hope that you and others will each year send this gift.
Those who receive it will give it forward.
Perhaps one day this practice will pyramid worldwide
not just once but everyday of the year.
This dog eat dog life most live can be People Helping People.
We can change the world if we all persevere.
People Helping People believe it or not is a concept that many don't know.
A seed has been planted, it's up to you now to nourish and help make it grow.

Packed all our bags and into the car
A family of eight a dog from the bar
My father a publican hard worker as wife
deserved all their holidays each year of their life
We struggled and pushed and found a niche seat
a twin on a knee a boy at Mom's feet
Crew cut and bowl shape a haircut to last
A sister and mother rules they would cast
Up the long Highway M6 to the north
In the Welsh mountains and lakes not far from old Borth
Over the Menai to Holy Island port
Holyhead ship the Munster we thought
Seven in the morning up and alight
Sugar loaf mountains pull into sight
Feeling of home of excitement and glee
Twins are a missing Oh toilets you'll see
Down the N4 by Kilcock Dad had said
Mullengar for a draper shop selling sausages and bread
Past by the undertaker at the back of a dump
A chemist is busy selling petrol at pump
Down to the Granny and uncle who dwell
On a farm in the west with cattle and well
Black jack on bee stings and hay to a toss
Kittens and dogs and pine martens the lot
Father so proud doing well to a view
Mother delighted her brother just knew
Working for family his pride and his way
Both gave us good times as children we say
Turkeys shuffle about, strolling around the farm.
Each passing morning, one day sounding the alarm,
Who would it be this year Sally, Ted, or Mom?
However, this season was secured, ready for farmer Tom.
Thanksgiving was on the horizon, they were conniving.
Fred the youngest Turkey, had a plan he was comprising
Fred, now the leader of clan, grab farmer Tom right now.
Threw him down on the ground, hypnotized him and how.
Prepared words for that day, he said Tom you want Cow.
Beef tasted better, more then any flapping turkey or sow.
He looked deep into farmer Toms eyes and said very quick.
Start a new tradition, skewer the meat, and grill on a stick.
Your family is much bigger, needing more protein to eat.
Look at all these pigs and turkeys, they will never defeat.
So lean and minuscule, families hunger will never be beat.
Now get up and butcher a cow, time for family to meet.
This began a new tradition, for this time of year of cheer.
Next Thanksgiving time, Fred would hypnotize for deer.
Turkeys danced and sang; Fred kept his pride sincere.
So look out next year, farmer Tom, Deer hunting, is clear.
