Premium Member G Is For Grouchy

Grouchy is a grubby feeling,
with the nasty taste of blah;
makes you out of sorts with living,
the opposite of hurrah.

You don’t like anything
you used to really love;
instead of giving kisses
you would rather pinch or shove.

You are bored to tears;
your toys - worn out and old;
you sit before your breakfast
until the eggs are cold.

No one can please you,
not even mom or dad;
and if you are not careful,
you’re in your room for being bad!

Some people say, “You got up
on the wrong side of the bed;”
maybe you should get back in,
crawl out the other side instead.

What makes you feel so out of sorts?
You think you just might cry
and mommy says she’s sure you ate
a slice of gritty grumble pie.

We all have days that go kerplunk;
we do some things we shouldn’t do,
but it will soon get better;
pull your feet out of grouch goo.

Just put a smile on that sweet face
and tell the grump to go away;
the sun is up and life is good,
get busy, go outside and play!

Blindsided

There is a part of me that you cannot see, you have to rewind the clock to the sixty degree angle, and keep your eyes on the circles in front of you and walk briskly with your head focus on the straight line until you cross over on the other side. The eyes can see thus far but the bulk of it is hidden underneath the bar, chicken and chips, Buffalo wings and Caesar salad to go with Italian sauce and mustard hidden in the dark The movement is quick and the rhythm is slick you have to search diligently for it. Everyone has a blindside rolling on the back of his head, and you have to learn to use it when you walk through the valley of the dead, when the crowd is thick and you cannot see, the blind side will be looking out for thee. You cannot see everything that is out in the stream, when the sun rises and the temperature slides, the multitude will stand behind the line, and protect you. You have to travel the depth of the sea to see what is happen in the galaxy, your vision is blocked whenever it gets dark and the cloudless skies, are spilling warm energy in thin air. Don’t be confused by the labels when light is drawn into it, the whole thing will become a mountain cliff, with a challenge sets up before you and the lines crossing in between. I am sitting beside you looking at the numbers slowly increasing on the board, and the universe is smiling with you and culture is dancing beside you. Three weeks ago you were walking with the old man without shoe and look at you, you are wearing a brand new pair of shoes, there is laughter in your eyes and the grouchy feeling has gone away and the abundance of life is here to stay, those numbers are real and you continue to march up the slope blinded by the power of hope but I climb with the rhythm moving on both sides. My blindside can see what I cannot see, my blindside can go where I cannot go, my blindside is you and this time I will get a break through.

Premium Member Pouting Downer Frowner

We all know at least one from down by the bay
A downer-frowner who likes to pout all day
We call ours Eeyore, after the depressed donkey
Winnie Pooh, Christopher Robin and Tigger’s friend, is he.

He pouts because it is rainy weather
He is annoyed by the brilliance of the sun
He is holding a grudge forever
Against more than twenty-one

In 1969 she borrowed my pencil and never gave it back.
The annoying banter of this guy has my neck hairs off the track.
I want to say “Do not pout about stuff that happened in ’84.”
That is the day his wife and her lover sneaked out his grouchy door.

Premium Member Can He Go Away

I am going to write about can you lose God
Can you lose the Spirit of God?
Can He go away from you and never come back?
Yes you can lose the Spirit of God
But He will always come back
as He had said "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5)
You would feel His presence left you
if you did something He didn't want you to do
You would feel He temporarily left you
if you annoyed Him
Does God get mad easily?
No
But He does get mad
And only when you did something extremely wrong OR disobey
Yes my friend - disobey
That would get Him leaving you so quick
You don't know what hits you
Take good care of His presence
because in it, you will find life
and you will find you
Need I say more?
When His presence leaves you
you will find you are the most meanest person on earth
Meanest?
My standard - your standard
as you feel you have no heart
When His presence leaves you
you will find you are the most grouchy person on earth
and you just lash out for no reason
as you no longer have that boundary
God keeps you in boundary
God keeps you good
God keeps you not wasted
- not drinking - mind you
God keeps you comfortable
God keeps you loved
How do I know all this?
'cause it happened to me
I disobeyed

Premium Member Rebellion At the North Pole

Since July the elves and reindeer, even Mrs. Claus have been on Santa's back!
(Al Gore's prediction of meltin' snow nearly caused him to have a panic attack!)
It seems that try as he might, Santa encountered problems at every turn.
He's becomin' somewhat burned out and reachin' that point of no return!

Mrs. Claus berated him day and night for workin' just one day a year,
Insistin' that he get a decent job, get off welfare and off his fleshy rear!
She'd like to spend winters in Bermuda, the Bahamas or Kiribati,
But noooo, he goes gallivantin' all over from Argentina to Zimbabwe!

Don't know what's got into the reindeer but they're feelin' mighty morose;
Perhaps because of all the fame showered on the one with the shiny nose!
They've moped about, eatin' like army mules gettin' fat and slouchy.
The cantankerous beasts have made Santa terribly tense and grouchy!

Those good for nothin' elves went on strike causin' a slow down in work.
They're tryin' to form a toy makers union causin' Santa to go berserk!
Such sloppy work! Talkin' dollies counted cadence, "Hup, two, three, four!"
The toy soldiers cried, "I want my mama!" as they marched off to war!

Despite problems at The Pole he'll trim his beard and don his crimson suit.
He'll "Ho, Ho", eat dozens of stale cookies and be dusted with tons of soot,
As once again he'll mysteriously soar through space with the reindeer towin',
Delightin' boys and girls around the world with the toys he'll be bestowin'!

Premium Member Fantastic Four

Cosmic rays catalyzed their mission
Mister Fantastic, Reed, led the group
He could stretch like atomic fission.
He bent and flexed to assist the troupe.

Before, girlfriend, later fiancé,
Invisible Woman made impact.
Sue's force field had significant splay
and her bombastic blasts were exact.

Johnny, the Human Torch, struck a name.
As Sue's brother, he was in the know,
used his powers to generate flame.
His embers turned a spark to a glow.

Oh, the monstrous Thing, friend to them all,
grumpy and grouchy but super strong.
He would have been grand with a football.
Stone-like durable flesh and headstrong.

More diversified team you won't find.
Like musketeers, they are one for all
These are the outcasts of humankind,
when need arises, we give them a call.

Premium Member Crazy Cool

Surge swallows stress
Plunder proud press
Gripe glimpses guess

Feel foolish fuss
Bear blooming buzz
Pick pretty plus

Choice charms crafty
Poise pays plenty
Voice veils vainly

Veer vaulted vice
Shrewd sexy spice
Nymph naughty nice

Frenzy frames fool
Crazy comes cool
Plenty proofs pool

Lovely lines loom
Bright brilliance booms
Ripe rapture rooms

Crazy comes clean
Loud laughter leans
Wise wonder weans

Moist moments meet
Speak savvy street
Glamour grooms greet

Touch thrilling trade
Mind movements made
Grope grouchy grade

Live limpid laugh
Bring bumpy bluff
Sound simple stuff

Crazy cool comes
Set stuffy sums
Niche notions numb

If you follow all laws and pay all your taxes.
Prepare for FEDS to come after you.!
If you dare worry about your rightful safety in Texas
You may be considered to be planning a coup?

If you have a good job, saved for your future. then ….you are evil
If you believe in the American Constitution
You are under suspicion for planning civil upheave?
For all these things, the President sees you as evil, to be locked
   away in an institution

But if you are an addict,, kill people, steal or remain for
years and jobless and in the dole?
However, if you follow laws and have done
good for this nation…are less than moles.

Even if you are dork or an alcoholic, your
     background is pristine and spotless.
Grouchy, loser DA’s want only the good.
in striped suits in prison institutions!

Groundhog Day - the New Version

It’s Groundhog Day, which made me think
Of Punxsutawney Phil,
Who saw his shadow, which implies
More weeks of winter’s chill.

But I have got a great idea
Which shouldn’t make folks grouchy –
Let’s pick a day to test the shadow
Thrown by Dr. Fauci.

If he wakes up and steps outside,
His shadow on the ground,
Then there will be six months or more
With Covid still around.

But if his shadow doesn’t show,
We’ll know that the vaccine
Has done its job, so Covid
Will spend less time on the scene.

We all could use a little hope
And Fauci is our man
If he lets his shadow slip away
Like that of Peter Pan.

Premium Member Thank God For the Sun

The sun has been looking for me all day,
But I've chosen to hide under mismatched pajamas and layers of irritation.
I don't know what I'm angry about, I just am.
I wake up at 7:24, glare at the world, and dive back under my pillows.
My dog snuggles next to my hip.
At 9:12 I get up, bathroom, and patter into the kitchen.
I hold the refrigerator door open a long time, settling on biscuits and gravy.
They are delicious, but I focus instead on the sausage with freezer burn.
Crap! Does nothing go right around here?
I am in a bad mood; I am grouchy, and horribly mean to my husband
The dog and I hit the bed again with big plops.
At 11:21 my eyes pop open. My mind gingerly follows, wondering what mood we're in.
I trot into the kitchen, eat two chocolate candies. I am ready to do something.
Word games and crime shows have depressed me lately; they are usually my go-tos.
Am I in the painting mood? I took the day off for a reason, right?
I look at what I'm wearing. Paint cannot hurt my outfit, so I wander into my art studio.
I am always in the midst of three paintings. Today is no different. The first six brushes
I pick up are awful. I throw them into my paint water. I should have ordered new ones,
but I forgot.
Mood is waiting, eagerly, ready, hoping....are we mad? Can we stomp and yell?
I glare at mood. Who is in control here? The dog runs off, after something. I hear her barking.
I smile. Trot into my office. Try to start the computer.
It has not been started for nine months, updates keep her busy all day; sure, the week I re-discovered my words. I take a sketchbook and plop down on the couch. The sun is all over me from three giant windows. I feel warm, happy, loved. Thank god for the Sun.
