Premium Member Silent Inflictions

Childhood is a ship,
preparing to set sail,
but not all harbors are kind

the ocean a mysterious enigma.

Not all inflictions are visible,
some bruises remain invisible.
Not all trauma can be expressed,
so the past is buried - still breathing.

Ghosts resurface, with subtlest of hints.

When we are born,
we are 'freshly decorated' boats.
Preparing to set sail through unknown waters,
longing to venture to foreign shores.

Yet, what is hidden underneath deep ripples,
is not innocent, like my childhood heart -
powerless, helpless, defenseless.

An anthology of a villain and his victims

Sins of my father,
once plagued my mother's tears.
Her anchor became a burden of heavy fears,
so drought, dehydrated her river bed.

To escape constant waves of rage,
my mind set sail to seek safer shores.
On my boat, I was my own captain.

Steps of thunder,
followed me through turbulent tides,
yet, spirit found courage to row faster -
to this day, I've never known how.

Maybe, I could not let his blood define me.

I watched, in horror, as his terror,
drowned my petrified siblings -
I wonder, why they did not sail away,
were their anchors, consumed with reality?

When words struck like metaphorical daggers,
sirens of the sea, serenaded with songs of sorrow.
But, my soul knew the sun would offer redemption -
finally unchain me from the darkness of adolescence.

Through passages of life,
what was once a boat in troublesome times,
is now a ship, settled on stable seas.

Example for Inflictions contest.

Premium Member Whacky Tobaccy

I smoke my whacky tobaccy quite regularly.
I smoke my whacky tobaccy along with my morning coffee
and just before lunch so I can bring on the munchies.
A day doesn't go by
without it being indulged by I.
A little whacky tobaccy.
I smoke it on the job. I smoke it at home.
I smoke it with others. I smoke it alone.
I smoke it whether or not I'm having a good or bad head.
I smoke it when I have trouble sleeping, just before going to bed.
I smoke it to deter me from smoking cigarettes.
Between those two smoking evils, whacky tobaccy is the less.
I smoke it everyday and every night.
I smoke it when I need to increase my appetite.
The only major thing bad about whacky tobaccy that I must admit
is that you can get arrested for using or possessing it.
I smoke it for pleasure, medicinally and also because it's a vice.
It still damages your health and that's never cool or nice,
but it's a health risk that rarely yours truly occasionally takes.
I smoke it when it's there, but if it's not, I take long breaks
and before you know it, it's a habit long gone that I don't even miss
until someone approaches me and asks, "Hey Dude, Ya want a hit off this?"

The Glistening of Formica Memories

Stepping on wet lateral stones,
at the Source of the Bicuspid,
three timeless tree-girls,
dressed in Colorado feathers,
urged on to fly,
as far as the harbinger’s voice,
reverberating from the source
and onward to eternity’s margins,
assume the mad ascendancies
to the highest peak, the farthest city;
their three steeped voices slicing
the formica memories
into shards with bitter fingers.

The glistening call,
of that farthest city,
wallows in the mirage
of seeming imaginations,
of fluid want with foreshadowing
remnants of lateral intricacies,
of standard practices
in the unseen interludes;
why is it when the wind blows
from the source we can listen,
but not hear?

Has memory succumbed
to the vacuum of time and warp?
On which wetted lateral stones
does source-wind lay out
the patterned template?

But now the feathers amerce
the wind’s seasoned harbingers,
plying the stars to find their elàn
amidst the mirages,
urged on to fly, ascending lofty peaks,
beckoned by eternity’s margins,
three arbored fems,
imagination becoming flesh,
stars and stones merging,
as timeless as formica;
their fleshly lateral stones
finding the Source of the Bicuspid.

Premium Member High fidelity

the image was distorted
because the canvas was contorted
and so to set things right
we entered staid silence, becoming the light

now with the vast void, having become our home
from a centreless fulcrum, resounded gong of Om
the that cosmic vibration, all pervading
an ocean of life, in which all souls are wading

subtler, gentler over time the sound became
ego vaporised, leaving no desires to tame
rapturous bliss cascaded in mind-body urn
wherein our soul presence chose to willingly burn

surfing the bardo, on choosing to let go
we imbibed direct wisdom, very few on earth know
and as music of the spheres plays by itself
flame of Christ consciousness glows as light of Self

Premium Member How It Is

Here's How It Is:

The atoms dance
While Space expands
Shoals of galaxies race away
Towards every point of no return
Spin and spin
Like Catherine Wheels
Firework flashes
Brilliantly blazing dazzling sparks
Against a night so deep it swallows thought
A trillion times a second,
Everywhere and Nowhere
Things are starting
Things are ending
Things are becoming
Thoughts are groping
In the spinning wheels and flashes
The sparks themselves are spinning
As are the sparks around those sparks
And so and so and so
Down again into the waiting atoms
Everything whirls
Because of this
There are worlds and worlds
Weaving themselves together.
Their billions of alien skies
Sliding over landscapes full of
Death and Life
Love and Hate
Fear and Hope
Beginnings and Endings -
Because of this
These lines are flowing.
A mind reads them,
Because of this
The whirling goes on
Out and Out
In and In
Dancing down to and up from the atoms -
All of it, all of it
Is happening RIGHT NOW
Has always been happening RIGHT NOW

Everything's awhirl, Snowflake:

So just go dance in the black Sacred Wind.

                                                        DANCE

                                                             !

'Cause that's How It Is.

Memories

I'm thinking more often these days
Of childhood memories
Days spent at home with a wonderful mom
Ones that I will always cherish and keep

Days unafraid with you here to save
This child at the first sign of trouble
Never to condemn with the ever loving hands
That could only be held by a mother

There to play games the best in playmates
From hide and seek to peek-a-boo
Training me right to be the man you now find
Nothing for me that you wouldn't do

Now in a home you and your thoughts alone
Unclear of the secrets they keep
As I bend near, whisper into your ear
Mom do you remember me

There's an ocean of thoughts that we float on
A sea as wide as it's deep
Where age takes its toll on the weariest of souls
Along with lifes memories

From early age on to now fully grown
Those memories are what I cling to
In my heart they are kept where no words need be said
But if they did it would be I love you

My Mom is still living (Thank you Jesus) but as she ages (Or is it me)
my mind goes back to my wonderful childhood and the times we spent.
The ending is fiction but you never know what tomorrow will bring...

September 22 Relationship to God Bible Meditations Based on Luke 4-5

Key Verse – Luke 4:1 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness.

LORD GOD, YOU ARE MY DIVINE LEADER

Lord God, You are my divine Leader against evil-ignited temptation
Thank You for commanding me to live by Your instruction
Be with me in my worship along sincere devotion
Upon Your pinnacle of victorious exaltation.

Lord God, You are my divine Leader against sin-caused captivity
Thank You for ministering unto me midst adversity
Be with me in my Scripture-studies with Your authority
Upon Your infallible Word with great certainty.

Lord God, You are my divine Leader against iniquity-influenced famine
Thank You for filling me with contentment from Your spiritual bin
Be with me in my declaration of Your truth’s doctrine
Upon Your peace that subdues wickedness’ din.

Lord God, You are my divine Leader against worldliness-infected uncleanness
Thank You for rebuking me of my selfishness by Your holiness
Be with me in my sanctification from filthiness
Upon Your forgiveness I seek along Your righteousness.

Lord God, You are my divine Leader against vanity-anchored stand
Thank You for teaching me according to Your directing hand
Be with me in my launching out into the depths of service-demand
Upon Your beckoning call for faithful stewardship You have planned.

Lord God, You are my divine Leader against transgression-inflicted plight
Thank You for aiding me of my erring-filled infirmities’ blight
Be with me in my prayer for Your power’s miraculous might
Upon Your purification so I can reach Your standard-height .

Lord God, You are my divine Leader against blasphemy-triggered mockery
Thank You for enabling me to follow You toward victory
Be with me in my repentance from unbelief’s worry
Upon Your assurance of salvation through Your Gospel story.

Premium Member Born Free

"Born Free" has to be my least favorite song.
It's reminiscent of the day when I was born.
I don't know what it was in my life that went wrong,
but at some point I was born free of everything human.
A bottomles void possesses me deep within
completely devoid of any true feelings.
Just to get through my day I fake all the emotions
with everyone I meet just to fit in.
Wearing a mask day and night is very exhausting.
Thankfully, all of this will one day come to an end
with death being my only one true salvation
and once more I will be born free again.
Born free from a life of isolation.
Born free from feeling like an alien.
Born free from not feeling anything at all human.
Born free from not feeling anything other than depression.

Premium Member The Beach - POTD

The sun set peacefully
as I looked out towards
the distant red horizon
of the calm, oily sea.

A gentle breeze caressed me,
I stood on the edge of the beach
leaving imprints on the fine sand.
I loved this lonely beach,
the silence was broken softly
by the azure wavelets
that brushed the edge of the sand.

So much beauty and wonder
despite the darkness
that, like an old fog, descended
upon that peaceful part of earth.

I looked towards the sky
dotted with billowy clouds
that raced below the twinkling stars.
I wondered if my angel was up above,
looking down on me,
guarding me from my earthly woes.
What could I do without
my heavenly being of love?

I felt immense tranquillity,
the beach shrouded in peace
far away from the noisy cities
to which I would have to return.
The stars appeared: the evening star,
was it that heralded
the birth of my Creator?
It mattered not, for I was safe.
He was taking care of me.
I knew I'd never be forlorn.

Those days have passed.
Now I'm back home
among cold concrete blocks.
Yet in my heart is peace
for I can still hear
the gentle lapping of the sea waves
on the peaceful beach
that is my own.

A Love Poem In the Time of Corona

Let sweet rains drop on your palms
Let it cuddle your skin, soften like a balm
Your bangles hum the dreamy rhymes
Let wind waft your fragrant thymes

I am far away from you, far, far away
In dream I sing with you, dance and sway
How are you dear? how have you been?
I am eager to know, truly I am keen

Dark clouds darken the smiling sky
Where the wild wings dare to fly
I am longing for sweet rains to fall
Or sunshine! even it be patchy small

May you stay blissful there, stay carefree
Chuckle and laugh in a catching spree
Hope I will see you soon, in a luminous day
Bye now my love, for you I will gently pray
