The Invisible Wall

‘Ossi’, what Western side likes them to call,
East returning complements with ‘pushy’,
No more stands there the brick-and-mortar wall,
Love’s lost still in old animosity.

The wall o’er a decade and half back fell,
Yet, an iron curtain still them divide,
Minds cannot meet over the wall of pride,
Hurt heart and prejudice can’t that gulf scale.

‘I’d rather a spouse from a foreign shore
‘Bring than one from behind iron curtain,’
Felt one from across the long secured door,
Deep and wide does divide decades of pain.

Here lingers a dislike, there disdain old,
What venom brethren nurse for each other!
An open war has turned into one cold,
Togetherness in search of fair tether!

‘Too hot’ for us these women from the West,
‘Hard to please, pushy, far too material,
‘Everything about them seems commercial,
‘From old world do we come and too modest’.

‘Too darn dense be these people from the East,
‘Lacking any a style whatsoever,
‘Forever on a bargain-hunting heist,
‘Let them savour their old odious flavour’.

Wall was felled to enable two-way flow,
Heads still finds it hard to communicate,
Bridges and trains, mutual dialogue to grow,
Yet, hard it is distanced hearts to placate.

Love and passion when at a premium come
In too short a period of years fifteen,
Old prejudices play a harder drum,
Not easy 'tis long-closed closets to clean.

World has its Kashmir, long-gulfed Koreas too,
And torn-apart people elsewhere a few,
A healer great, mighty teacher is time,
If not today, morrows may sing in rhyme.
______________________________________________________
The Berlin Wall came down some 15 years back on 9th November1989. But the iron curtain continues to divide the two people that history separated. Only two per cent of marriages every year are between the East and the West Berliners, which under normal conditions should have brought together one-third to half of the couples in a city its size. Yet, they are 12 times more likely to marry foreigners. After the wall fell, there came the euphoria only to die soon. A lingering dislike persists between the two sides. Yet, in all fairness 15 years is too short a period to mitigate the wounds inflicted by 60 years of separation. Time, let us hope, will prove a great healer that it is.

My mind is as fascinated with investments and divestments
as my body is attracted to healthy and beautiful vestments,

and haunted by prospects of naked loss of home
and integral identity.

My vested interests emerge issues and concerns about nutrition,
as opposed to malnutrition.
Nutrition, whether economic or political,
pursues ecologically systemic complexity.
PolyCultural nutrition can be consumed and produced by a healthy cooperative ecosystem,
while a monoculturally disturbed and aggressive absence of balance
harmony
grace
perpetuates internal v external systemic trauma.

We would all prefer,
regardless of cultural history of our vestments,
avoiding Other's aggressive win/lose values
without win/win cooperative body-health/mind-wealth merit
as effectively democratic,
confluently inclusive,
peacefully compassionate
as possible
through clear polypathic discernment,
multiculturally resilient wellness
passion/pleasure co-invested,
economically and politically co-arising
enlightening and empowering

compelling
spacious and timeless
harmoniously cooperative wealth
overwhelmingly vested
in nondual co-arising
mind/body
passion/pleasure climaxing
wealth/health co-infested experience

Whether the pantheistically connected mind of an ant
or polypathically EarthMother nurtured human,
whether the soulful voice of a river
or polyculturing choices of a rich forest,
or the SunFather enlightened spirit
of EarthMother's empowering cooperative nature

My mind invests in
and divests of
anthropocentric economic and political
monoculturing monotheistic history

Of healthy bodies and beautiful minds
spaciously and timelessly
haunted by monoculturing prospects
of sacred EarthMother's loveless loss,
homeless absence
of cooperatively organic
panentheistic Gaian integrity.

EarthTribe's co-empathic
beautifully invested mind,
fascinating co-empathic body-divestments,
where curious polypathic nature's nutrition
cultivates spiritual-mental health diversions,
spaciously enlightened and timelessly wealthy
co-arising authentically enlightened
and integrally empowering
bicameral left/righteousness

Polypathically organic minds
fascinated with investments and divestments
of panentheistically sacred bodies
attracted to politically healthy
and economically wealthy
creolizing Gaian co-infestments.

Written: April 28, 2025, for contest Sponsored by: Sara Jama

                   *******************

When cruelty becomes a badge of honor
empathy transforms into an act of defiance
while the evildoers are celebrated!
The resonance of your words
Your words echo as a sharp blade
revealing the possum
shameful crawl
dragging through sacred remnants
they cut through the fragile chambers
of my vulnerable existence.
A rustle of grass
in the Cimmerian pre-dawn.
Watching you drown in your denial
Now, a landscape of sorrow
once vibrant with the hues of joy
has faded into mere shadows
Shades of happiness did thrive
I stand frozen, bleary-eyed
trying to bear sense of
eerie glow of empty eyes
I am a witness to the casualty
of an all-night bender
Your gaze, a weapon
cold and unyielding
left my spirit in ruins
forever haunted
by the ghost of what once was
The dreams you stole
That left me stranded
broken in body and soul
Amidst the unfolding horrors —
border violence, displacements,
police brutality, genocidal oppression —
Remember this: Cruelty is the point
Cruelty is not humorous nor edgy
Cruelty is not justifiable
Cruelty corrodes the sense of self
Cruelty for cruelty's sake
a repulsive and vile toxic waste
What started as casual banter
quickly turned into a serious dialogue
banter quickly grew into a colloquy.

I walk a path of despair
a subdued plea
where cruelty reigns
Some find joy in the suffering of others—
the essence of schadenfreude
Do we embody barbarism
when we think
we have the right to be cruel
And ignore the agreements we made?
The casualties were unintended
Yearning for a healing touch
for the grace to set me free
Yet the scars remain
a stark reminder
of the cruelty
that has etched its haunting mark.
Your malice roars like a storm
within my spirit,
leaving me shattered
and utterly out of control
I am a victim
The cost of your design
and now I seek peace
In my life
Humans possess the capacity
for empathy and reason,
yet systems of violence.
They are crafted to dominate
subjugate
dehumanize and oppress
Cruelty is always at the core
It feels as if we are consumed
by cruelty in our thoughts
defending the indefensible.

Premium Member Growing Health Her Dipolar Self

Sherri Mitchell invites us all
to gather more cooperatively in our search to avoid
once again in this Fifth Extinction MultiGeneration,
the entitled
privileged
win/lose colonizing
leftbrain dominant potential patriarchal terrorist
lurking within
our climate darkening ego identity.

How do I sabotage my more benignly intending self
repeatedly into predative win/lose games-manship?

How do I hate my lose/lose mortal degenerating nature/spirit Body,
And reject my own physical/mental
ego-natural/eco-spiritual
fragment/interdependent
universal/unitarian bicameral individuation?

A lifetime process of co-acclimation within EarthTribe
secular metamorphic transmutation
of sacred transubstantiating spirits
of win/win
left/right
dipolar co-arising
inform/exflow binomial correlation;
creative appositions

We all,
Mitchell responds to her own question
strangely
prophetically before she asks it,
following an Industrial leftbrain-dominant Revolution
leading away from rightbrain win/win
more organically compassionate moments,

In which we, more domestically together,
possess harmonic left/right States
of cooperative understanding
climate YangLight
and YinDarkness
infant/womb nondual potential fecundity
ego/eco-co-acclimating inside/outside attachment
primal connectivity
ego-interdependent win/wins overpowering win/lose detachments,
from our co-creative
re-creating win/win cooperative health development
caregiving/receiving communal green ego/ecological abilities.

Our metaphysical question,
Why me; Everything ZeroSum,
and not just nihilistic Zero-NothingCore?
Is not just why growing healthy consumers
developed robust competitive EarthMarkets,
but also how we co-productively show up
most powerfully to meet this depleting nutritional time
in which we lose to climate monoculturalism

We are most egotistically invested in
when not interdependently win/win
bicamerally conscious internal DNA multi-regenerational cultures
resisting win/lose predative climate-death trends.

How do we invite cooperative dialogue
rather than trigger competitive debate,
mere empty theoretical words?
Devoid of heartfelt rightbrain compelling experience
deeply learning through our win/win mutually co-invested actions
not of win/lose leftbrain entitlement
but of win/win interdependent engagement.

A Visit From a Social Worker

His hand reached out to mine, open,
Holding it, I smiled, our eyes danced with understanding,
Form and blush outlined his expectations,
But I could see that there may be fear inside.

Mary restated their predicament,
That the child was born out with the marriage bond,
And that people were swaying to the opposite side,
And course dialogue, laughter and spitting were norm.

So I asked the two for their thoughts and predictions,
About the child, if he perhaps could be like, special?
And they specified that he would cure, heal and exorcise,
And also promised that they’d talk to him about the poor.

Could this baby be the messiah?
I pondered and hoped in their certainty;
Was this the predicted son of god?

He would be free from aggressive victimisation,
If we could just name him as god's son.

So I suggested to his parents,
That if the wise men came with a quest,
To accept the name Jesus Christ,
And certify the census, no less.

Freedom for some is in lying,
When there’s no possible alternatives,
But I believe Joseph never lied,
In the population census of Bethlehem,
That just so happened to pass by.

The child would have been suppressed by all,
Assumed to be dirty and unclean,
Not for chat or dialogue,
And certainly not for work in a trade of his call,
Or for work in any trade for that matter.

Nothing would ever have been done,
The poor would never have been healed,
Or not so quickly for sure in history;
The government would not have been rifled,
And Christ would not have come.

Treating the poor for health problems,
Would have come through government legislation,
A long time after Christ,
In an austere, aloof manner.

People to people relationships,
Would not have been respected,
If care had been awarded top-down,
By bureaucrats and officials:
As supervisors of the protected.

Society at that time was narrow minded,
Stuck in traditional religion;
There were outcasts, sinners, infectious people,
And assumptions were remedial and red:
There were no special people,
No exceptions to the rule,
Only one place for the messiah confided.

One baby matters to me,
A life should be saved at any cost and risk,
Because the abilities you show when young,
Shouldn’t be muffled or labeled regressive,
But nurtured in acceptance and love.

Premium Member Beth Got Her Wish

I went to visit her on the morning of Tuesday, March 14, 2017. Her name was still assigned to her room; so I went inside. There were bags on her bed, but no sign of my friend Beth. I questioned a nurse that was attending another patient, and she directed me to the front desk to make further inquiry. It was at that point I was informed that Beth had passed on.

Beth had departed for heaven, and I was four days late. About three years prior, after being informed by her niece of her whereabouts, I began visiting her. She was 95 when she passed away at the nursing home, having been in very poor health. She had deep longings for heaven.

There were many visits, and I was able to dialogue, sing, or read scripture with her. Although we had met some 30 years prior, she never really knew who I was when I came to visit. Her memory was gradually fading. However, when I came to visit, she always had a great smile, as if to say, "I don't really know him, but I'm loving these visits".

There were memorable visits with her, but none expressed her longings greater than her statement about a twin sister who preceded her in death. I observed a picture on the wall of Beth and her identical twin sister. I told Beth that I could distinguish her from her sister, and did so successfully. She then said in a very strong and serious tone that she was upset with her sister for going to heaven and leaving her here.

A memory barrier existed; the aging process and her health issues were breaking her body down; but I felt that the bond of friendship needed to be honored.

Within moments of being informed of Beth's passing, I was reminded of her comment about her sister and the 'longing' that I knew was so deep inside of her. As I turned and walked away, I quietly whispered, "She got her wish". 03232017cj PS

Life can be a different nightmare
when philo-sophias self-righteously
uprightly leave us behind
so long in search of success
measured in wealth of commodified acquisitions
rather than health of natural/spiritual capitalization
of virtuously co-managed left/right
co-balancing cooperative structures
for co-investing future resilience,

Like a thirsty hummingbird
living in a too-red environment,

Like dissonant notes
hiding in a too-rich symphony,

Community, communion investing in health
not as ordered by MotherEarth
as demonic TaskMaster of perpetual raw-spot punishment
in perpetually vicious win/lose competitions
against past and future disgraced generations,
rather than wealthy sacred interdependent venerations.

Philosophers and politicians
preachers and prophets
parents and their prey
might instead invest in Earth rights and lefts
as our dance and play Mother
embracing more cooperative win/win choreography,
ecological theologies of color
and scale,

More of a sweet spot multigenerational tango
searching out climatic self-governing unity
rather than a righteous raw spot monocultural war
of nightmartish lose/lose uniformity
unto climate collapsing apocalypse,

Mortality of life
giving way to ecocentric wise dancing regenerations
of local through global multicultural Earth,
enjoying nature more cooperatively-managed,
never competitively-owned in spiritualized theories
of universal Yang Domination
with too complexly uniform marching into fragmented war orders
over-ruling uniting invitations
into win/win multigenerational YinDance,

Now wiser about distinguishing
between individualistic capitalism,
supporting business as usual
monoculturally colonizing patriarchy

And Earth's cooperative capitalization,
actively inviting natural/spiritual
sweet spot win/win dialogue
more than raw spot,
Who is the biggest Loser of vanishing success?
academic debates

Confusing wealth requirements
with healthy response to
What is winning?
Since before liberating philosophers
severed natural nutritional eco-healthy balance
from spiritually robust wealthy ego-investment.

Life in and on Earth's resonant ecosystems
can be a different nightmare
when philo-sophias self-righteously
upright leave us behind
so long in search
of health's wealthiest eco-political success.

Premium Member Dented Cans, Dented Lives

The human body was built with a stretching ability. Skin and muscles are very elastic and prepared for adversities. Bones can be fractured and broken, but mends back in time. Ache me; bend me; mend me; brake me; mane me; pain me; I bounce back. Everything within me connects, communicates, and confers with each other. But I am wondering about 'the goings on' of a can of corn, if dented. If a dent is made in a can of corn, does it force the kernels to draw closer together? It's like this. While cleaning our food closet one day, I overheard a most interesting dialogue between designated speakers for the corn and the water.

"What just happened here?" said the whole kernel can of corn to the water in the can. "I felt a deep stump that shook us as you moved like a high tidal wave." "I know! said the water, it was as if someone just threw us into a large tote of other cans". "I don't know what's going on here, but I sure wish it would stop. We have feelings too?" They seem to care more about a dent in their cars than one in a can containing their food supply. Go figure".

After a pause, the corn kernel said, "Anyway, the dent they caused just took away some of our already crowded space. Moreover, I suspect before long someone will come looking to eat us, notwithstanding the dent in the can. Until then we'll just have to deal with the way things are. "On the other hand, said the water, they might decide to eat us as a last resort, like when things are bad and money is tight. In that way we'll last longer. I must say that as a result of our can being dent, not only have we both been stirred, but we have been forced to communicate like humans do. Maybe we'll also learn to bounce back like humans". And the corn kernel said, "Perhaps so, and I guess if you are going to get eaten, later is better for us."

What could it mean?

A message the individual wanted to send

Holding a nation flag, notebook, and pen

A voice he wanted to lend

“I have a question
