Autumn - Constanza
To honour Connie Marcum Wong
A lady graciously refined
Who's sadly left the world behind.

Autumn sings her annual song
Russet leaves bow down in prayer
In colourful seasonal flair.

Sweet voiced angels singing along
As harp renditions play in wait
To greet her at the pearly gates.

‘Twas the season you’d loved lifelong
May your place in heaven be blessed
By autumn at her loveliest.

Words to you alone they belong
Hark as poets read verse out loud
Tribute poems to you avowed.

Carry our love, a love so strong
As you soar to celestial shore
To dwell with loved ones evermore.

To honour Connie Marcum Wong
Autumn sings her annual song
Sweet voiced angels singing along
‘Twas the season you’d loved lifelong
Words to you alone they belong
Carry our love, a love so strong.

There are special people, God put in this world.
Deserving of Diamonds and Beautiful Pearls.
Her words are genuine and they touch us all.
Caringness and kindness, we felt, and saw.
To know her is to love her, in a Special way.
Now my friends, it's time to Pray.
A Prayer for healing, to Heal Her Heart.
To bring to her, a Brand New Start.
She's been through so much, in a very short time.
Please pray for her, and be so kind.
Soup Mail her, to show you Care.
That's all of you, her friends Out There.
We miss you Connie Please Come Back Soon.
If not by daybreak by afternoon.
Our prayers are with you, please know we're here.
Have Peace in your Heart, and No fallen Tears.

Please reach out to Connie Marcum

This was one of the first poems I wrote when new at Poetry Soup.com five years ago and I received a wonderful welcome from the lovely poetess Connie Marcum Wong.
White daisy's in a wicker basket
graced the tiny metal casket
where his lifeless body now lay..
Family and friends wrought with grief
shook their heads in disbelief,
as he was only ten years to the day..
His story made the news with it's
familiar tragic hues and the politicians
had their say..
People gathered on that street, lighting
candles, placing wreaths in remembrance
of where he was slayed..
The sun still shines on this space, his spilt
blood cleansed to not a trace but what a price
his community has paid..
What kind of world have we created
when young lives can be negated falling'
victim to gun violence every day..

As autumn's equinox draws nigh -
a turning point, fulcrum of light
the long, warm days give way to night.
The summer fades, from hot and dry
to harvest time and cooler days,
  chromatic leaves worthy of praise.
A friend is gone. Her soul on high
still speaks to us, "Inscribe with words
  poems of flowers, sunsets, birds".
And though we bid a sad goodbye:
  to summer - autumn's beauty comes;
to friends - their soul's heartbeat still drums.
These thoughts lead to a double sigh:
  a sigh of gloom - her earth path ends;
a sigh of joy - that we were friends.

As autumn's equinox draws nigh -
the summer fades from hot and dry,
a friend is gone... her soul on high.
And though we bid a sad goodbye,
these thoughts lead to a double sigh.

Premium Member Be To Become

Resting thought and imagined skill
Feel how our heartbeats do repeat
As silence births magnetic heat

To know the truth, simply be still
The vast void beckons; let's rest there
Pristine awareness, self-aware

Surrendered fully to God's will
Become a witness to our self
Life then plays out all by itself

Voids within in timeless time fill
Soma nectar begins to flow
Love aligned, heart becomes mellow

Easy then is ascent uphill
Bliss cascades within, day and night
We be to become living light

Resting thought and imagined skill
To know the truth, simply be still
Surrendered fully to God's will
Voids within soon begin to fill
Easy then is ascent uphill

Premium Member Tribute Series MY LOVE By Connie Marcum Wong

Lyrics By Connie Marcum

Loving all these years
Through my joy and tears…
My sweet memories don't fade.
When I dream of you
Feelings do renew
And my joy seems Heaven made.

It feels so very real
As my heart does heal
From the aftermath of death.
Intense longing pain
I try to regain
Peace, with every calming breath.

I feel you are near
Your presence is here
At night, when I try to sleep.
You are in my head
When I go to bed,
I won't let you see me weep.

Now, forever more
The man I adore
Will keep quiet company.
Serene thoughts of you
In all that I do
Brings me comfort wondrously.

If I could give you a rose for everyone you touched, you would have a garden
of roses.
If there was a person's name that represented Kindness and Love it would be
yours.
If remembering someone special, that genuinely cared about others and was giving of themselves, you would be the one I think of.
If I had to choose one friend in this world, I would choose you.
If Angels are real, and they were here on this earth, You were one.

" The Mother Tree" you were to all those you loved.
(The Mother Tree was a poem Connie wrote that made 100 best Poems list.)

Your heartache is over Dear friend.
All whom you touched, are thinking of you.
Love and good wishes, We send.
To an Angel, we once knew.
You touched our lives for a while,
and shared your love and your trust.
We will always remember your smile,
and the love you shared with us.
You missed your husband and son.
You wrote of your love for them.
                                  Now the time has come.
When you're reunited with them again..
You will always be part of our lives.
As these tears roll down my face,
as I ask the questions why,
and trust in our Lords Grace.

                                    Rest in Peace Dear Connie.
                                              Your Poetry
                                                  Lives
                                                    On
                                                 Forever
                                                    You
                                       Will Never Be Forgotten

Poetry Souper Heroes: the Sequel

"Poetry Souper Heroes: The Sequel"
by: Eric L. Boddie

As we last saw, Anita Sharma was coming in
What's that Melody Thomas, I had to ask my friend
It's called Falling Raindrops, Kim Patrice Nunez is the singer
By German composer Kim van Breda, rumor has it she's a swinger
She lives on Lin Lane in the house where there is a Mystic Rose
Tom was a country boy, but Laura? Urbaniak I suppose
Becca Teagan walked by as we heard the sound of a gun
She then fell to the ground, oh my, what has Cherl Dunn
Soon after, officers Ian Guyler and Connie Marcum Wong pull up as the scene diminishes
All we could tell them was these are simply the Remnants Of Some Silly Experiences
She lost her job as a teacher because she told the kids, on every Paige, Reed for yourself
But when the principal fired her, who would have thought she would have taken her last breath
This was all too disturbing, Andrea Dietrich said let's go to the dance
But when we got inside all it said was Charmaine Chircop vs Casarah Nance
I said where is the dance, she said welcome to the mud fight
There's a family tag team handicap main event, Terry and Chante Reeves vs Sophiya Kamil tonight
I said will this degradation of women ever cease
And that's when Robert Stoner Jr. told Stella, "Fullard is slang for obese"
That's when Kelly Deschler came in, armed to the t, and said the violence is about to increase....

to be continued....

Premium Member If This Breath Be Our Last

At life’s last breath, what’s our regret
Were we driven by mind or heart
If reborn, how will we restart

It is too late to place our bet
Head and heart were not hand in glove
Thus no blessings poured from above

Far and wide spreads dark desire’s net
But surely that is no excuse
We succumbed to ego borne ruse

Love and light’s within; go, fetch, get
Conscience speaks as the voice of God
We but need to give it our nod

God alone is, all else forget
The truth is simple; follow this
We are His light, throbbing with bliss

At life’s last breath, what’s our regret
It is too late to place our bet
Far and wide spreads dark desire’s net
Love and light’s within; go, fetch, get
God alone is, all else forget

Premium Member The Journey

Many, many long years ago
Began the longest walk
With this dream called life
A journey with my soul
Embedded in life spent alone
along the shores of pain.

Mind sinking in blue
When I am old
Dying bit by bit inside
Singing the old age blues
Longing to be young again.

As I sit and watch the wind blow
From the horizon of eternity
Through the clouded window of time
The only thing that matters now
When twilight arrives with a sigh
Start stepping through time.

I hear in me musings of an aging man
For him the time has come
Start journey inward
In search of peace
Following sound of silence.
