Li Na Tennis Superstar

Li Na Tennis Champion

Asians in general sat up to take notice when from the vastness of China arose a tennis great…
Never mind it was a she, and at an advanced chronological ripe old age of almost touching 30…

Li Na from China was one well travelled tennis star, her world accolades coming in very late…
When many a famous players were thinking of retiring in fatigue, she upped her game to the level elite..

First and only Asian to win a Grand Slam Singles title, she was a ripe old 29 when it happened…
Many more illustrious tennis professionals have long gone to pasture before reaching 29 or after…

But not Li Na the most famous professional tennis player from China, the most illustrious too..
2011 French Open Champion at age 29 followed in 2 years later , 2014 Australian Open at age 32…

Now , if one were to check up on China’s most famous tennis daughter, Wikipedia has it all …
It chronicles in fascinating details the checkered career of this badminton reject since she was small…

An astute coach suggested she had best switch from the ever popular racket game called badminton…
In that big nation of badminton crazies all over, it must have hurt to be ejected from badminton…

But her excellence in tennis was astonishing to say the least, by 1997 she was in the national team…
Incredibly, she was then only a teenage at fifteen when China drafted her into her National team…

Two years later, in 1999 following a 10 months stint sponsored by Nike, Li Na turned professional…
Her rocky path to be a successful professional was camouflaged by her many ITF numerous titles…

However, she quit the National team in 2002, going on to complete a Bachelor of Journalism in 2009..
This was another cap in her journey to tennis success, an academic complement to her tennis prowess…

From the barrage of numerous first evers for this Chinese tennis phenomenon until her retirement..
It is obvious she was a tennis prodigy who happened to come from the far east to tennis fans' amazement...

For further readings of Li Na, the most famous Chinese phenomenon in woman professional tennis …
Do a Google search and feel amazed at the massive write up about China’s most famous daughter in tennis..

Sojourn

He's in self-isolation keeping company
a rooftop crow reminding him
a wiser authority is still at work!
No sense of distance within four walls
sickroom alien, where dawn comes early
and long night falls.
He's lost track of time, the pilgrim soul in him
finds no harbor to anchor, plays monopoly with
his mind, thinking of Galileo: “the larger the machine, the greater its weakness.”
Conjures a theory of “Chinese virus” as spirit wrapped in embryo waiting for the opportune moment
to rule the world, a living locked in its own order by
the magnitude of its destruction, clearly one cannot grant an invisible giant
the same proportion of limbs as an ordinary enemy.
Push up, stretch, and climbing up and down the stairs,
he calculates the rate of death as the speed by which
life is saved, it's always good to spin the positive, and
he thinks of the virus as a snow emergency using old shovels
to deal with it, or a bowline knot that comes untied with ease
on a fisherman's boat in wild, boisterous ocean, and then his mind
conjures the word “cross-mutation,” readaptation of an idea
from one artifact to another, now wondering if the virus has come from
outer orbits or is a cell phone disease, or the tree of life re-enacting
an old theme, full of words such as tension, compression, torsion, shear, bending, and
destruction, but then again he thinks of it as a material form, in need of cutting, hammering, grasping, scraping, splitting, piercing, re-shaping, and measuring.

And time passes and suddenly, he is in company with god,
that drops by late hours to check up on him, reminding him with
genuine equanimity, nature is capable of designing traces of extraordinary
polarization.

We are on sojourn
myself and I, breaking the monopoly of
his mind.

To reclaim needless expenditure, allow the MP's to repay
No matter the total, let the law courts have their say

Now our economy has taken a turn for the best
Restructuring internally an injection of zest

Now, let's look after our pensioners, and place them in jail
They'll have showers, walks and hobbies, where their care won't fail

From unlimited free prescriptions, dental and medical aid
Wheel chairs aplenty, not a penny will they have paid

Constant video monitoring, instant assistance if they fell
Bedding washed and changed twice a week, soon they'll be well

Having someone check up on them, every twenty minutes or so
Bringing meals to their cells, watch the smile in them grow

Families visit in a suite, for their purpose and nothing more
Enjoying Snooker, Pool and Sky TV, and a Library to explore

Clothing would be provided, shoes, slippers, PJ's and Legal Aid
It's all free on request, oh my! certainly no charges to be made

They would also have gardens and lovely exercise yards
Computers, TV and Radio and as many as they want, phone cards

No longer would there be a Matron, a board of directors there will be
A code of conduct for the officers, strictly adhered to, you'll see

And what of the poor prisoners I hear your minds start to think
How will they cope, these poor souls left on the brink

Well, they'll get by with cold food, left alone unsupervised
All lights turned off at eight, as they will internally cry

Mind you they will shower once a week, live in a tiny little room
A figure of £600.00 a week they won't flout, with no getting out soon

Alone

I JUST WANNA BE LOVED
I JUST WANT A PLACE TO CALL HOME
I JUST WANNA BE NEEDED BY SOMEONE
I REALLY HATE THE IDEA OF BEING ALONE

I WISH SOMEONE WOULD JUST CHECK UP ON ME
JUST TO EVEN SAY I THOUGHT OF YOU ARE YOU OKAY
IM TIRED OF FEELING LIKE IM LIVING IN DARKNESS
I WISH SOMEONE WAS THERE TO MAKE IT A BRIGHTER DAY

I WISH SOMEONE WOULD ONLY TRY TO UNDERSTAND MY PAIN
I WISH SOMEONE WOULD TAKE THE TIME TO MAKE ME SMILE
I WISH I HAD SOMEONE TO STAY AROUND ME FOREVER
BUT SO FAR EVERYONE SEEMS TO ONLY HANG AROUND FOR A WHILE

I WISH SOMEONE WOULD APPRECIATE ME FOR ME
AND NOT COME INTO MY LIFE TRYING TO IMPLEMENT A CHANGE
THE FUNNY THING IS THAT HATE DONT REALLY SURPRISE ME
ITS WHEN SOMEONE LOVES ME THAT SEEMS REALLY STRANGE

MY HEART IS SO GOLDEN IT OFFERS LOVE TO ANYONE IN NEED
BUT ITS BEEN TREATED SO UNFAIRLY BECAUSE IT DOESN'T GET THE SAME
FOR A HEART THAT HAS DONE NOTHING BUT LOVE OTHERS
ITS SAD TO SEE IT TREATED OVER AND OVER AGAIN AS TOY OR A GAME

IT FEELS LIKE I AM DROWNING IN A POOL OF SORROWS
WHEN WILL SOMEONE SAVE ME AND THROW ME A LIFE VEST
I WATCH SO MANY PEOPLE BEING LOVED AND CARED FOR BY OTHERS
BUT ALL I GET IS PEOPLE RIPPING MY HEART FROM MY CHEST

I AM A HUMBLE MAN THAT DOESN'T REALLY ASK LIFE FOR MUCH
WHILE OTHERS HAVE A LOT BUT ASK FOR SO MUCH MORE
WHEN WILL SOMEONE START TREATING ME LIKE A BLESSING
INSTEAD THEY TRY TO GET RID OF ME LIKE I AM A SORE

ALL I WANT IS JUST A MESSAGE TO SAY HEY I AM THINKING ABOUT YOU
OR A CALL TO ASK IF IM OK OR LEAVE A MESSAGE ON MY PHONE
IVE BEEN SO MUCH OF A INFLUENCE AND SUPPORT TO SO MANY
WHY DOES IT STILL FEEL LIKE IN THIS COLD WORLD IM ALL ALONE.

The Seventh Day

God took his time to make the world and we are truly blessed,
He worked so hard for six long days but then He took His rest.
A whole day off from His creation so what’s a deity to do?
He slept late then got Himself some premium coffee to brew.
Then He made himself some cinnamon buns and ate them on the deck,
He wondered how things were back on Earth but resisted the urge to check.
They’ll be fine for just one day. How much trouble could they find?
I left them alone in a paradise and now it’s My turn to unwind.
Then He remembered the serpent and the tree of wrong and right,
And He began to worry that they’d never make it to the morning light.
So He put on a robe and grabbed His keys and headed for the door,
Then He stopped himself before He left and He paced across the floor.
If He couldn’t trust them for even one day then what good would they be?
So He decided to make a mutton sandwich and go and watch TV.
But He couldn’t concentrate on the game and He was running out of chips,
And taking a little walk in the garden would be much better for His hips.
He went to check up on the kids in Eden and what do you suppose?
Sure enough He found the two of them running around in clothes.
They pointed fingers at each other and at the snake and at the tree,
And all the while He thought to Himself, they really do need Me.
That’s why God keeps Himself available no matter what the time or day,
So when we are in need of his strength we only have to pray.
Who knows? Maybe someday we’ll realize what there is at stake,
We’ll be able to take care of ourselves and then God can take a break.
But not yet.

So You Have a Lot of Money
By Franklin Price

So you have a lot of money - Maybe are a billionaire
The how's and why's the way you got it - I myself don't really care
You're working now to keep it - Maybe even want some more
If you're a citizen of the U.S. - You should check up on the score

The environment is capitalist - That gives the U.S. ONE
There are the breaks in taxes - TWO for country for you none
The environment is mostly free - Many places to invest
That's THREE and Four there's so much more - You still have none to pass the test

The Senators and Congressmen - Tend to move most things your way
With your money and influence - You now have ONE and that is sway
Depends on how you use it - Tells what others think of you
To make more money for yourself - Is not all that you should do

Help make this country better - Bring less fortunate along
Invest in Education – Help put us back where we belong
Invest in others' efforts - To put money in your shoe
To aid in helping others – Gives you a score of TWO

Won't always make you money – Will make you better you will see
To give to others for no return – Gives you a score of THREE
Some rich say no one helped them – You are free these words to say
I can easily show you're lying - Our founding fathers paved the way

I'm sure that others helped along – Maybe still are there for you
So the way I'm looking at it – Is you owe this country too
Take advantage of the giving holes – And they won't be voted out
Giving something back to proliferate – Is part of what it's all about

Cardiomyopathy Part 2

As I figuratively lay on my hospital bed; aiming to bend the laws of reality
and try to recover a life that was once dead,
I hungered to be fed understanding
as I struggled with broken heart syndrome: evoking words that were said
that ultimately lead to my blow to the head.
You visited me to check up on the damage that you caused,
despite the times I looked past all the flaws that were yours.
Holding onto my last breath, in the facade we called a relationship;
I spoke empty words of forgiveness,
as I hoped the next victim of your secrets,
did not witness the tragic sequence
that existed in between our first and our last kiss.

Despite the broken heart,
my pain shall one day depart.
I will recover from the diagnosis on my medical chart,
to find a woman who will love me intently from the very start.
Though this anguish will take awhile to heal,
I feel, in time, these emotions will no longer feel surreal.
In light of concealed intentions, I promise to reveal,
my true feelings to the next female that catches my appeal.
In times of difficulty, the is always a silver lining,
so I choose to undertake some refining and ignore the declining.
Focusing on a love that will one day, break out of the darkness shining.
Cardiomyopathy,
the death of a broken heart and rise of emotional prosperity.

The end.

A True Friend

A true friend,
Is hard to find.
They'll constantly check up on you,
You'll always be on their mind.

A true friend ,
Knows you like no others do.
They know when your hearts been broken ,
An when you're feeling blue.

They will comfort you,
In your times of need.
They'll ask you to come over,
An they won't ask you to leave.

You can't hide,
An put up walls.
A true friend,
Sees through it all.

A true friend,
Is one of the greatest blessings you'll ever know.
A true friend accepts you just as you are,
An will tell you so.

A true friend,
Knows your weakness and your strengths.
A true friend,
Won't leave you in your times of need.

A true friend,
Keeps the secreats that you would hide.
Secrets,
That if others knew would make you cry.

A true friend,
Is something hard to find.
A true friend,
Knows the farthest reaches of your mind.

True friends,
Mean more than you'll ever know.
A true friend,
Is precious to the soul.

When you find,
A friend like mine.
You'll always be close,
Till the day you die.

Always be thankful,
That someone really cares.
A true friend,
Is truly rare.

Hearts break,
An people cry.
Keep your friends close,
An by your side.

13 OVER SIXTY

I've reached the age of sixty, and most things are slowing down
wild parties are a memory, and so is painting up the town
these days we tend to settle on a simple meal for two
with a nice refreshing glass of wine, to see the evening through

we spent the weekends going out driving, which helped me to unwind
it gave us both a break, from life's daily grind
we'd often stop to take a look at a tranquil country scene
back home we used to reminisce, about the places we had been

but my husbands health is failing, he just doesn't seem the same
he's had a lot of major issues, all of which he overcame
his mind it seems to wander, it's like sometimes he's not here
but thinking how he used to be, I often shed a tear

it was hard to see my husband look so small and oh so frail
I still wanted to picture him, as that tall strong handsome male
but no matter what the outcome, my love for him stays strong
I'll always be right here for you, no matter for how long

but yet again our lives would change, in a truly shocking way
I'd had a simple routine check-up on what was a normal day
your results will take a fortnight, come back to get the answer
it was then that they informed me, you have now developed cancer.

Okay, so Mom got me my own smart-phone,
now I can have fun when I’m home alone.
I can see the addiction to this thing,
I can finally buy myself some bling.

Oh wait, a text from Fluffy-Bell,
Tuesday’s play-date went really well.
“Girl, check out the new food site,
that tuna’s got sauce with every bite!

Oh hey, wait, I’m get’in a text,
yeah, it’s from that smexy tabby, Rex.
Ooh, ooh, he wants a play-date, too,
oh geez, what am I going to do?

Got to go girl and get some bling,
afterwards I’ll give you a ring.
I can’t let him see me in this old collar,
I don’t want him thinking I live in squalor.

Here’s one, it’s full of pink rhinestones,
I’m going to order it on my new smart-phone.
Oh wait, I can't find Mom’s credit card,
you know, web shopping’s awfully hard.

Now I’ll have to manipulate Mom;
bookmarking this site, I’ll leave my phone on.
She’ll check up on me and see what I want,
then, I’ll get a new collar to flaunt.

Yeah girl, it really does work,
Mom worships me, she’s no jerk.
I’m her “widdle-purrrdy-girl”,
I’m her BFF in this world!
