You crept into our lives
silently stalking
like a cat burglar in the dead of night
invading every aspect of our world
Robotic treatment by the Da Vinci Machine
operated by a skilled surgeon
removed this blight from our lives ...
yet lurking in the back of our minds
your memory remains
Cancer, you violated his body
but in a strange way you were a blessing
by giving us a stark reality check
We appreciate our days on earth are limited
and cherish every second
living each day to the full
Of course we are realistic
one day you may return
but we will do battle with you again
victory will be ours -
and once more you will be a distant memory!

A seasoned cat burglar
climbs through
the kitchen window;
his eyes scanning
left, right, front, and back...
"Good, no one's home,"
or so he fought.
He tiptoes through the house,
going from room to room,
rummaging through drawers
and stuffing knick knacks
into an open backpack
he's wearing
in front.
Before long, he sees a shadow
appear on the wall;
someone's behind him.
As soon as he turns his head
for a look see...
"POW!"...knocked out, cold.
He came to...
a hulking blurry figure
standing over him....
"You came to the wrong house, and the cops are on their way!,"
the homeowner shouted.

Garth was a cat with an attitude, and he was grayscale true.
He had a pet mouse. I did not dare chase him. Did you?
Other cats had tried to entice Garth to loan out his mouse.
Notorious bankers went so far as to put a lien on his house.
Therapist Cat tried to psychoanalyze Garth, thinking him mad.
These interfering cats were truly mean, some rather bad.
Cat burglar Cat tried to sneak in and steal the mouse away.
He had bragged to many that he thought mice were tasty that day.
Garth outsmarted each cat that had a trick up his paw.
He had a pet crow with an extremely loud noisy caw.
The crow was promised jewelry of gold and silver too.
If he would wake up Garth when danger was due.
So, between Garth and the crow, the little mouse was safe.
He was a sweet little thing, he had a cute rather round face.
He was not grayscale but a happy pink color Garth craved.
They were a mighty twosome; and together the elements they braved.
Baby face,
what's you thinkin'...
You beautiful doll?
You're wearing
quite a scowl
on your face
You really don't like
strangers, do you?
Why are you
making that face?
Are you hungry?
Are you wondering
why the heck...
I'm standing before you
and not mommy?
Don't you worry,
I'm a family friend
Not cat burglar
I'll go get your mommy
Just so you lose
that worrisome look
Now give me a smile
Come on, sweet pea
Give me a smile now
Please?
Pretty please?

As the world tires and weariness begins to quietly enfold,
We will sleep and dream of what tomorrow beholds,
In the night,
a chorus of felines project a resolute purr,
Meow!
And in the light of the moon, as they preen shabby fur,
Transformation and magic will flow deep into the night,
Nocturnal eyes, hypnotic as they witness the sight,
Of the piercing deep precious bright emerald eyes,
that incarcerates the stars above night skies.
Semi-precious stones adorn a shapely neck,
An unfamiliar collar – did anyone check?
An opulent fur coat, a shadow of smooth shiny silk,
Shrouded gold whiskers bathed in honey and milk
Litheness adorned around a nimble form,
Prowls with ghostlike movement until morn,
Fluid, sinuous,
Moves silently continuous,
Crouches beneath a well-trimmed hedge,
Obscurity the unwritten pledge.
Observing the sacred temple, a place of conviction,
A place of love and security, should be free of infliction,
Possessions and sentiments within an encased vault,
A place of love and security, surely, one cannot fault.
Springing from haunches into full position,
Ears dart along the scented trail towards admission,
As the weary keepers sleep in deepest slumber,
The magic of sleep will not encumber.
The art of ancient magic will unlock the chambers,
No sound will be heard by close-knit neighbours,
The walls question the dense silence of their ears,
Darkness remains frozen until daylight appears.
The Bensons awake with sleep cladded eyes,
The disappearance of artefacts, come with shock and surprise,
Someone has violated their tranquil domain,
Magic Merlin – Cat Burglar has conquered again!
Meow!
Scaling the walls outside
Like an agile athlete
Prayers is going out
For the sinners, the needy
And just as the demons retreat
A sudden drop of cold sweat
Rush down the monk's forehead
For a faint sound of a window pane
Falling to the floor in splinters
The last syllable paused
To a sound so sinister
In the dead of night
Two eyes meet
It was love at first sight
The jewel the thief stole
Was the monk's heart
Incidents like this makes
Many relate to fate
For the monk love boosted his faith
As for the cat burglar
She found love and salvation
Love is divine
She couldn't help but tarried
In a few months wedding bells rang
Who would have thought
An unusual union
Love is no respecter of persons
Form:
As he crawled through the window flashlight in hand
Little did he know but would soon come to understand
Feeling his way around so as not to make any noise
When he heard a sound ah must be one of those darn toys
But then he heard it true now he could not misconstrue
"I see you, and Jesus sees you too"
Full of fear and fright he turned to that sound
And as he shined his light it's a silly little parrot that he found
"I see you and Jesus sees you too"
Picking up a lamp on cue he was going to...
But in dropping his flashlight on the floor it shined under the parrots table
Met with an angry salivating roar, this dog belonged in a stable
Looking back up at that goofy bird and completely frozen by fear
And then next what he heard was not what he wanted to hear
"Sic' em Jesus" is what that goofy bird said
Ripped him to pieces should have of just stayed home instead
