Forget regret, riffs on what ifs

Forget riffs of regrets

But

To the hilt
We tilt to
Inbuilt lilt
A guilt quilt
Can jilt & wilt

But

No tiffs with what ifs
Won’t let you fret
Circumspect.. I find
Older you get
Bet..more honest…more kind

Care more..know more
Late bloomer rumour
Embraces candour...humour
Respect velvety vagaries
Traces of reflect

Suspect future’s the tutor
Detect serendipity the suitor
Evolution..glints of revolution
Pip that convoluted New Year’s tip

Genuinely don’t genuflect
No sorrow...deflect hints
Of mooted rebooted resolution
Suspect Tomorrow might
Be your best day yet!

Premium Member Why did I become a poet

I was born a poet not manufactured.
It started with a heart feeling fractured.
Childhood trauma led to built up suppression,
but the soul yearned for creative expression.
For years my poems hid in secret memoirs,
but a battle with cancer left behind deep scars.
Tongue remained silent, but my muse began to pour,
through reflection and introspective candour.
Some use words as weapons to cause sorrow,
but I write to leave a legacy for tomorrow.
I have no desire for applause nor for fame,
so I express my musings using a pen name.
Each verse is written through metaphorical blood,
in hope one day my life will be understood.

Premium Member A Weird Woman

she pips in fear for lateness like her peers,

hauteur cloaked with reticence,

her-boo-boo-vague, though walled around and palpable

official Narcissist disguised in rude affronts

Bravado of naughtiness in candour yet tacit

“Free me to free me”, rants in melancholy

as ignorance upsets sorts of sort

Insensibility of differentiating as angels often tastes the gall

By routines of cataract long glare

Sends nostalgia down their spines

Though forgetting the milk and candies of supposed rivals

Doubling as friends in conning angst beggarly in their nature

Nagging and ganging a gang of gossipers

Finding Mutual grounds for their victims

Causing higgledypiggledy where there exist no war

For a suspected compromise of morals

Or a hunting taint of a past paints on Z walls

Where decorum is not a schoolmaster

As official time wastes in visits to motels at un-break break time

With holy bible at desk view to mask hypocrisy

First venerable “Etis” Migrants tasted buds of vinegary as noised by witnessing chauffeur

And guilt cautioned not her thigh with an avalanche of showy attire of a seductress

advertorials of “buried innocence” jagged in curved carbuncle front and back

Banging shoes in unending visits secreted in kitchen

 double-faced, loud calls to clients for managerial gratitude

as empty office fill vacuums of fast quickie (sharp-sharp) appointments arranged or rearranged

Ill-mannered, bad-tempered not marriageable, never listen, never patient making enemies

Commandeering, verbose, self-conceited, presumptuous, stout and arrogant

Naked Truth

N~ascent truth resides at the heart of wisdom thus

A~story conjects still naked waits for refutation

T~he emperor’s clothes devoid of the latest chique

I~ntimately risqué when average normality beckons

V~ie for veracity rescued from the scrap heaps of time

I~n candour modesty disentangles sexy sound bites

T~o be naked or not for whom where how and when

Y-aup those who lie in winning words instead of reason

Written for contest ‘Naked’ judged 16th November

Still Naked

Naked with no laurels for my glory could I yawp in

Awe of other poets’ winning well versed script though

Kinder to myself and fellow soupers do I give merit

Eject my sulking disappointment from the scene and

Defuse what was as to denude again the naked truth

I Remember

I remember your childlike enthusiasm,
when you presented the bracelet to me.
I smiled at your innocence,
I cried at your benevolence.

It wasn't made of gold or silver,
yet it had a faint glimmer.
It was the most precious thing I had ever beheld,
As I fastened it around my wrist my search for love finally quelled.

As the days passed we grew apart,
our story ended with you walking away with a piece of my heart.
This bracelet reminisced me of our history,
the happy moments that are forever etched in my memory

Its not just an ornament but a symbol of love,
A love pure and innocent.
A love so candour free from any judgement.
I remember your smile,I remember you.
I was a parched dessert plant and you became my morning dew.

Poise in sure choice speaks fond beauty,
Grace styles pure voice in face lovely.

Charm wears a grace that speaks most kind,
Love floods this space with peace of mind.

Sure candour flows with mellow moods,
Warm feelings show a touch so good.

She warms my heart with soul that lights,
Wise splendour starts a telling sight.

Here time and space afford fond feel,
Grand blessings grace a soul that heals.

She brings warm fest to weary days,
A precious zest aligns warm play.

Now happy fun attracts calm ease,
Wit flavours pun in lavish peace.

In deep delight my voice feels free,
A fine insight frames cheery spree.

What comes to be in lovely tact,
Beauty moves me as truth paints fact.

Who makes you smile

Of all the folks you know who makes you smile?

Jokes that stokes strokes your soul for a while

In a poll who would stroll to the top of the pile

Which peeps we love heaps leaps over the stile

Candour so rich scratches that itch does beguile

Hatches humour that does bewitch off the dial

Fresh as glacial air their rare own homegrown style

Another year of more sneers tears jeers than cheers

Can't rile never a bit*h even if the subject of vile bile

Alana our nirvana she can handle any scandal or trial

Religion worthwhile Fezz would walk her up the aisle

A good witch you are the best gal & pal.. no denial

As magical wonderful as the winding spellbinding Nile

You’re blinding (London lingo) doff our hat

To maybe the coolest cat that we’ve met yet

On this Isle.. let's begin with your cheeky grin

Which is why you win the bet by a country mile

Bride and groom voice moment of bliss;
Rich with wonder, ideas now spring;
Impress with choice, candour funds list;
Dare can wander here with love's fling;
Apt gestures seek emblems of joy;
Lines of pure grace loiter with place.
Vouch for fond peaks: laughter and ploys;
Explore dress space, enraptured face;
In flowing lines hurl fine designs;
Linger with style, unzip your dreams.
Sense joy unfurl in rapture fine;
One lasting smile: mosaic and theme;
Now your big day imaged with zest;
Go with clear sway, note what works best.

Premium Member Silent Thunder

Silent thunder borne of bliss ignition
The currents within, joyfully caper
Open secret of stillness in motion
Divine aligned, we need no translator

Sound of one hand clapping, dark void conquers
Our consciousness, joyous in cessation
Pure of heart, behold the play in wonder
Silent thunder borne of bliss ignition

It all begins with the divine union
Head and heart merge with unreserved candour
Manifesting in heart, an explosion
The currents within, joyfully caper

One with oneness, we are thus singular
Devoid of all sense of separation
Questions cease, as we become the answer
Open secret of stillness in motion

Upon mind body vaporisation
Narrow desires fade, as also all fear
With voice of conscience, in resonation
Divine aligned, we need no translator

Ego is but a mere caricature
Our true self enabled for co-creation
Whilst throbbing in unending bliss rapture
Cognise in our vibrant meditation

The Magnificence of Pen

though pen whispers its words,
even echoes perceive its poignant allure,
beyond the scratched surface, it breathes deep,
percolating the senses with its aura—
sniffed as the fragrance of rose.

in thought’s depths nib probes,
to uncover the truth hidden in words—
splashed on the parchment of beasts,
gleaming like stars through the night’s dark sky.

it lifts chaff from the winnowed grains,
to plant in great minds the beauty that grows,
and gleams in billowing beacons as hope despite gloom,
winning hearts, garnering accolades in droves.

still it purifies ponderings and erases errors—
not with force but with subtlety
of persuasion, illumination, and quiet candour—
to rejuvenate and kindle weary souls.
