Notes About The Poem

Why did I become a poet

I was born a poet not manufactured.
It started with a heart feeling fractured.
Childhood trauma led to built up suppression,
but the soul yearned for creative expression.
For years my poems hid in secret memoirs,
but a battle with cancer left behind deep scars.
Tongue remained silent, but my muse began to pour,
through reflection and introspective candour.
Some use words as weapons to cause sorrow,
but I write to leave a legacy for tomorrow.
I have no desire for applause nor for fame,
so I express my musings using a pen name.
Each verse is written through metaphorical blood,
in hope one day my life will be understood.

Love this. Your expression of hope for the future is probably felt by all who write,IMHO. You, however, seriously have an abundance of talent in this area! I wish I could know you better but I also understand your reluctance to reveal yourself thank you for sharing what you do with us! Xo

SO, I think you make a very good point. We are wired a certain way that influences how we react to what happens to us and we make the best of what we have and the circumstances we find ourselves in. I think you are influencing me and a lot of others since as we understand your life, we also understand our own with more insight. Your humility and in fact the name you have chosen are an inspiration to many. Perhaps you are closer to the meaning of life with this poem than we have yet come.

Though life challenges resulted in the accumulation of suppressed emotions, your inner spirit soared and sought avenues for creative expression despite the trauma of cancer. Over the years, your poetic creations remained safeguarded within personal memoirs of light and love, but so glad you have shared with other poets who love to read you. Bravo my friend...Hugs

Dear silent one, i believe so too that we dont need to justify why we write but its so good to know where you found inspiration from! Do you still have those poem in memoirs hidden? I would like to read them. I really love the rhyme scheme here! Nothing like AI. Well woven and sincerely expressed in the most seamless manner! I love how youv ended with “ to be understood” some dont understand what they see too in person so i wonder if anyone would understand through poetry. But still, i feel your emotions and what you deliver through poetry so very strongly! Im still so sorry to hear about your cancer journey. I always feel sad hearing about it. You deserve everything good!

I used to write also whenever life leaves me heartbroken. And whenever i feel better i used to delete my accounts until “ bleedingink mistress” came into life! And i stayed for long! Now i think we all have a story to tell and yours is an inspiring one and you remain an inspiration! Pleasure reading your work! Sending you light always

When in touch with the heart, expressing feeling-beats-honest -- love seems always the divine product. We start from love...and if not destroyed by heartless world experience~ love will be one's eternal climax. Beautiful write my friend. "Each verse is written through metaphorical blood, in hope one day my life will be understood." I think the Great Muse must have some inkling ahead of one's demise. As you say, born a poet.

A wonderful write. Yes, a poet is born not manufactured. Many times words come from some kind of pain. Then the words can be felt by the reader. Your pen writes with feelings and love and for that, I Thank You... Have A Fun/Blessed Day Writing Away.........
