The River Styx

Atmospheres of the weary tears that flow through the river Styx
Bonded by the watchful eye for Hades is in the molten mix

Cerberus is in his bliss as he watch’s the grotesque gates of hell
Death becomes as it nocturnally numbs the souls underneath its spell

Eurynomos watching rotting corpse’s aromas of the dying dead
Ferryman extends his hand, Charon’s purse must be faithfully fed

Grimly graves in massive waves of victims frivolously falling in
Hell awaits with open gates as the pandemonium does begin

Ignominious retreat for those that would repeat many lifetimes
Jagged rivers edge for those who would wedge their cunning crimes

Kabbalistic rituals leave their residuals as the underworld is overflowing
Lachrymal souls never reach their goals even in their constant crowing

Many do make it as the rest can’t shake it, to outrun the rivers grasp
Necromantic wizards cross the rivers to help undo the candescent clasp

Odysseus in his cunning shall be stunning the querulous Queen as he planned
Persephone in her majesty rigidly rules the underworld by candid command.

In Greek Mythology...a river that forms the boundary between Earth and the Underworld (the domain often called Hades, which also is the name of its ruler)

Cerberus...often called the "hound of Hades", is a monstrous multi-headed dog, who guards the gates of the underworld, preventing the dead.

Eurynomos...was the netherworld daimon (spirit) of rotting corpses dwelling in the Underworld.

Charon...is the ferryman of Hades who carries souls of the newly deceased across the rivers Styx...for a price(coins)

Odysseus...hero of Homer's epic poem the Odyssey...was a frequent visitor.

Persephone...was the daughter of Zeus and Demeter, and the queen of the underworld. She was abducted by Hades.

La Isla Del Encanto

La Isla del Encanto
			   (El Poema del Linda)

There was no Elizabethan
Changing of eyes
On the Isle of Enchantment;
No sudden moment of charm or bewilderment.
Rather, came a delicate awakening
Like soft dawn rising over groves
Redolent of plantain and nectar.

The Linden tree calls her
	Soft and tender
So too a neo-Latin name for
	Beauty
 As she was
	Ever
Native to islands
Born from sea spray
A soft mystery to be read,
Explored, and never concluded...

And now I see it
So absolutely like
The shawl settled
Across her shoulders
Lifting in the breeze
Ushered in by grace.

As such,
She wandered to my bed where
Passion can burn in one candescent night.
But where love
	Is a different calendar.
Not precise and never numbered...

Indeed, ahead unfold
A concatenation of days
Accruing as a mausoleum of memory
Where gentle spirits lay forever
Eschewing sleep in favor
Of allowing auras to seep into
	And inform
The ever-expanding present,
	Of an interlocking reverie.

Slow growth,
	delicate and steady...
Becoming more entwined
The moment fingers locked
And we ascend towards bloom.

A lattice made from mutual mistakes
Holds up, defiant ---
Lends skeletal strength
While mapping the body of
One ardent dream.

And what soft lumen roused me
From my torpid slumber
Waking me to lilt of sea-song?

Aurora's nascent dactyls
Inched up horizon line
Ascending like aspiring wisps of hope
Spreading warmth unnoticed
Until, by zenith
All shall be bright and clear
Where we share a common tongue
But speak a deeper language
Not private, but privileged.
Granted only those who move
Beyond number and word
To caress contradiction
Embrace the ineffable
Partake of the fabulous Dane's
Mystic leap of faith.

If this be the reward to come
	In learning from the past
Then let me, please
	Mistake no more...

Miners Turn To Face the Cold

The mass production of coal is dead,
Buried infer lamps carried on the head,
Halogen miners sang the unforgiving dirge,
With fragments of flaky particles emerge,
Drilling hammers that smote the ground,
Never again to hear its rumbling sound.
Voices roar like dragons in damp vapour,
Highlighted the dangerous drudgery caper.
Its miners turn to face the cold idle breeze
Lusty diggers of cave brought to their knees.
Dust off running tears in nocturnal eyes
Sparkled pay in dissonant redundancies.
Tipping poison pouring out of their coat,
Coals brightly burn diamonds in the heat.
Hem and skirt tossed away in good wave,
The blockade collapsing stairs of the brave.
Sad hearts dramatically ending the way of life,
Kiss the face pioneers abandon with cheek.
Dirty power of bygone industrial revolution,
The demise ends centuries of veiled tradition.
Looks that is lost on the cloudy grey glare,
Tunnels bearing signature of the slender tear.
Tattoo rippled down on jagged wall mirrors,
Romantic fires to stare at the mantle towers.
Underground roads in loops of fuel suspended,
Prison row of tombs lay silently on the cold bed.
Rock fractals calling from cold depth of earth,
Snuffed out the foggy union in oblivious wrath.
Dripping tar brooms lay on the dormant floor,
Once supplied daily ration meals for the poor.
Now the pit is shut leaving the empty trucks,
Pulling the souvenirs bearing burden buckets.
Into the nostril part of murky breath exhale,
Indifference steps crystallised among the stubble.
Can we face climate change of clean living?
In the beautiful candescent global warming.

Disarray of Time

Within my mind are dusty cobwebs
where drafty breathings edge the corners of remembering
as they hold in a picture stilled that looms,
unchanged but not for lack of a broom;
school books, pads and pens, and bookbag piled high,
uniform dress, blouse, and blazer on the bedroom floor,
shoes plopped in the corner still untied behind the door
covers tossed on an unmade bed, pillow puffed against the frame,
 a waking dog with ears alert and a wagging tail ingrained;

I can easily dust and sweep the memories stored there.
The dim light of an old candescent lampshade bare,
shadows of my grandmother rocking in her chair.

Four o'clock as the cuckoo bows,
chains straining the weights up and down,
a baloney sandwich, a glass of milk, she sits waiting
at the small kitchen table, her rosary praying.
Bouncing in the door, hurried and ready to play around,
the smile rises on her face as she puts her knitting down
and with a hug and kiss, she takes me in her arms
as I struggle hurriedly pulling away from her charms,
anxious to go out and play
as she asks, what did you learn today?

Sit, eat, tell me of your day
and I rushing through every thought I could say,
full mouth jabbering of this one and that at school,
today, I've learned the golden rule,
family and the love they give
are all you ever really need to live.
I wish I could go back for just a moment in time
and relive those wonderful memories sublime
 now gone
and pushed in the corridors of my mind.

Candescent Mermaid Myth

Candescent Mermaid Myth

Aquatic manifestation of magnificence, with a fishtail
Awe-inspiring, and alluring, all men on deck are mystified and adoring
Embraced by disbelief, while enchanted by
The fairytale fantasy from the deep
A treasure so precious and rare, all the gods of the sea wouldn't dare.

Yet there the elegant essence abounds, as this she thing,
this flawless and flowing beautification is an entity, not of this reality
The something of never, that all throughout time
Was hoped to be forevermore, so hear the bells chime.

Precocious and demure yet with long wild flowing waves of hair
She arose ethereal, seemingly directly up from the seafoam
Hypnotic and enigmatic - illustrious and illusionary
Regardless of her enthralling beauty, disquiet, and oceanic wiles
Embraced the realm of real, of which all there could feel
This was an iconic moment, that which was what everyone was experiencing.

One and all, the magnitude was as such that the fact of a MERMAID
Amongst us, was just too much
Regardless of the actual visualization of a creature so mythical
So magical, so obscure, and candescent
FREEZEFRAME a portrait in time
Mermaids aren't real, half human, half fish, come on, not in this sit'ch
So put that thought to sleep, and you guys stay on the boat
And forget what you thought you'd seen
You're just having a Poe moment of a "Dream within A Dream."
Now what do you say we go ask the Mistress Mermaid
If she wants to get an ice-cream

Premium Member Love In the Wind

"Dance with me within the wind, then just let me love you" - Orania Hamilton.

Your flushing face in the wind,
ebon hair defiant, flutters unbridled.
Some swirl squally, thread the gale,
the forehead lattice captures my yearning,
lest like cloud it drifts away.

The sculpted window of hazel eyes closed
like the folded beautiful wings of butterfly.
Onyx dark eyelashes seam the lissome lids,
harbor the dreams in fathomless green sea,
lest like birds they soar away.

The lilac petals of luscious lips pursed,
hold the entrapped silence of longing,
carve on your face the contours of allure,
rippling on petals of florid smile I see freeze,
lest like rose it withers away.

The radiant supple cheeks subtly caressed
by serenading zephyr suffusing fuchsia blush,
candescent in the aurora of the sunburst sky.
Breathless I etched in heart image in the wind,
lest like autumn leaf beauty flies away.

The dazzling dawn lights up my heart’s horizon,
spreads the sensuous spectrum of luring longing
on the gorgeous blooming garden flushed with my love,
swathing the facsimile of your florid face with charisma.

The patina of rose blushes in your sensuous lips,
glittering with the grandeur of charismatic petals.
Rhapsodic wind blows in mesmeric meadow of my heart,
as you become mine, I float beguiled in ether of euphoria.

The sculpted window of your hazel eyes closes
like the folded ornate wings of hypnotic butterfly.
Lattice of onyx eyelashes embroiders lissome lids of eyes,
harboring dulcet dreams in the fathomless sapphire sea.

The radiant cherubic cheeks are subtly caressed
by serenading zephyr suffused with fuchsia blush,
candescent in the amorous aurora of sunburst dusk sky.
Breathless, I etch in my halcyon heart the enticing image.

In my journey in the undulating terrain of life,
through the blizzard in the winter of despair,
and along the valley of flowers in the spring of delight,
by my side I always find you, the precious gift of God.

Spiralling Stardust Sight

Spiralling Stardust Sight

Chasing clusters of dust and Venus vapid lust
We sail and we sway throughout the Milky Way
In a thrust, we land on a planet of candescent crust
And with dynamic display spiralling star dust spray

Jupiter and its moon Callisto a calamitous cocoon
With craters of ice, the shivering silence shall suffice
Off to Mars by noon on a botanical baronial balloon
It has paid the price with scars that scabrously splice

And lest we not forget Pluto a throw away or asset
A tiny pinhole within the cosmic super galactic bowl
On the night we met the stars shining as we sweat
The love that you stole along with my heart and soul

All this on a spontaneous starry narcotising night
Within a spiralling stardust spraying sensuous sight.

Voice of Love

My heart-beat drums of love and charm.
O' hear the voice of love that sings a sweet song.
Listen to the songbird's *dulcet serenade and dawning alarm,
and reply, oh lovebird, with a lovesick *tongue.
Liberate thy spirit of love my dear *marm,
and respond! respond! yes respond with a passion so strong.
Release a seductive hymn to embrace my heart with its fiery melodic arm
so an overwhelming fervor follows along.
Oh! incinerate the shell of my heart 'til my soul be visibly nude and disarm',
thus revealing the *candescent embodiment of sensations which lives among.
Certainly, I want to be caress and loved by Love's delicious swarm.
So, Queen of hearts, bombard the core of my soul 'til it be in awe!-- experience I long.

*dulcet--(esp. of sound) sweet and soothing
*tongue--refers to speech
*marm--variation of madam
*candescent--glowing red-hot
