Whatever Was My Reason For Being a Loner

What was my reason
for being a loner,
for giving up on dreams
and for ceasing to exist?
There was eagerness
when youth began,
there's was no absence of cheer,
all was quite perfect!

Unexpectedly, hope grew with time
and I regained the tremendous loss of confidence,
and rejected the bitterness that I brought on myself;
being sad isolated me from others who knew
why did he choose loneliness and distance...
and stole glances of ownness from people without a clue?
Why he never understood that reality could have brought him low,
compelling him to deny his existence and be called a deriding elf?
And through his denial, all brightness was reduced to a glow!

What was my reason
for being a loner,
having no will to step outside,
but hide in a dungeon
without drifting air?
Was gloominess a wish...
something to chide,
or perpetual anguish?

I've lived the longest life and wondered
if death was a relief or punishment on our mortal kind;
and losing senses with an expiring breath meant
be no longer part of the living striding across the earth,
but entering a dimension where the body that became dust
couldn't transcend the naive perception that
immortality was not earned by cunning and stealth...
only the one who was able to discern it got this reward!

Premium Member Laughter in the Shadows

In chambers filled with laughter, light, and carefree sound,
A discordant echo hangs, heavy and unbound.
A specter in the corner, draped in deep shadows,
A chilling truth the merry words refuse to keep.

The body lies unseen, a weight upon the air,
A stark reminder whispered, a burden hard to bear.
Yet mirthful sounds erupt, a careless, joyous cry,
A dissonance of spirit, a question in the eye.

Is laughter then a traitor, a mask we wear with ease,
To shield the fragile heart from truths that bring unease?
Or is it life's rhythm, a counterpoint to pain,
A flickering, fleeting candle in the pouring rain?

Perhaps we are a canvas, where darkness meets the light,
A tapestry of sorrow woven with threads of brightness.
The human heart, a vessel for joy and despair,
A dance of contradictions, a burden all must share.

Do we compartmentalise, these feelings we possess,
Divide the light and shadow, finding fleeting peace?
Or does this laughter echo, a truth we can't deny,
The fundamental fracture, the question in our cry?

The echo lingers long, a memory bittersweet,
A testament to duality, a balance incomplete.
For even in the face of loss, where sorrow reigns supreme,
The heart, it seeks a solace, a fleeting, joyful dream.

So let the laughter linger, a reminder bittersweet,
Of life's complexities, the sorrow, and the fleet.
We carry both within us, the darkness and the light,
A dance of contradictions, forever in our sight.

The Moonlit Path In the Chill of October

The moonlit path in the chill of October
is transformed by the thickness
of shadows rising and not dissipating
the creepy fog that induces fear.

Everything disappears from sight...
while the whitest full moon
glides and shines brilliantly,
and its brightness reaches
the depths of a magnificent universe.

All the feeble firs and birches
seem gigantic fathoms taking on
a human form and begin
to oscillate blown hard
by the ocean's hissing wind,
which stirs up foamy waves
battering against the huge
rocks that protect the sandy shore.

Owls and crickets have flown
to a safer grove less than a mile away,
and whirring their wings faster,
they too vanish trough the thickening
fog hoping to find calm there,
unless a hurricane is coming soon.

The moonlit path in the chill of October
illuminates a wilderness succumbed
to fog and tempestuous winds
coming from the doomed bay
that hours ago was frequented
by herons and ivory gulls.

Stormy Weather of Love

There's a hurricane a brew
In my world since I met you
A whirlwind of every weather
But we handle it together
There are days of sun and brightness
No troubles--just lots of lightness
In our hearts that are enjoying
Hours of no one annoying
One another--just relaxing
There is nothing left worth asking
Unexpected tears like rain
Fill days that are full of pain
Falling down like thunderstorms
Everything is going wrong
Till there's a watery sea
Surrounding both you and me
Windy days are just the best
Your sweet breath upon my neck
Blowing me away
with the chills you send my way
Every single time I hear
Loving words sent in the air
A bolt of lightening passes through
Every time I'm touching you
Shocking me right to the core
Desiring you more and more
This voltage just intensifies
Love truthfulness that isn't lies
Weather changes every minute
And I'll take whatever's in it
Good or bad I'll take it all
This love's gonna never fall
No matter how many storms
Our relationship is bringing on

A Christmas Wedding Wonderland

Snow is falling from the sky
Tears fill up some happy eyes
Flowers color the whiteness
That sparkle in the brightness
A trail of rose petals
Lead from outside to a hall
Christmas breezes fill a room
Waiting for a bride and groom
Flower girls looking so sweet
Pretty shoes upon their feet
Little boys holding the rings
As the choir starts to sing
Bridesmaids in long lacy gowns
You can hear the brides heart pound
The best man is doing his best
To calm the groom in his new vest
A hushed silence fills the air
The brides march is what you hear
As doors open and you see
A gorgeous gown and the beauty
Of a bride that can not wait
To be wife--it will be great
A preacher saying the I Do's
No objections from the pews
Rings are placed softly with care
Kissing lips and happy cheers
A Christmas wedding that will be
The greatest one in history
Full of joy and lots of love
Snow falling from up above
As angels bless this happy union
Of a couple always swooning

Fond Remembrances

Start
My dearest mother I miss you so much
As a baby I yearned for your delicate touch
May you be happy wherever you are
I always feel your presence as such

I know your dwelling now is very far
At night I see it as a twinkling star
Overshadowed by the brightness of the moon
But unlike the moon there is no scar

As a child you fed me with the spoon
I outgrew that stage very soon
Your embrace was wrapped in love
Which gave me comfort and was a boon

Your bickering was like the song of a dove
Your threats were delivered with a kid glove
Like when you threatened to twitch my ear
I ran out of reach on to the terrace above

Memories linger on through the years
I felt secure in this world without any fears
Images of you I shall treasure always
Who would guide me and dry my tears?

In the morning during those happy days
As my bed was engulfed by the sun’s rays
I was woken with a gentle caress and a kiss
And told to be an early bird which always pays

Life was easy, carefree and full of bliss
There was ne’er a moment I would like to miss
I looked up at the birds and wished to fly
High in the sky and look down into the abyss

If only I was there for that last goodbye
I would have embraced you, without a sigh
Deep in my heart you will ever be near
My beautiful angel from the heavenly sky

Can you see our plight, my mother dear?
So far away, our wails you cannot hear
Life clings agonizingly to the body in a clutch
Violence and killings keep us in constant fear

Premium Member Light And Darkness

Light seems brightest when seen in the darkest dark.
Yet darkness can be all but eliminated by the brightness of light.
When in a balanced contrast, each is often seen clearer.

Although their differences when compared are quite stark,
Both darkness and light have the potential to provide great insight.
Each has qualities that can make things seem dearer.

Once while meditating on a bench in the park,
I had a sensation of my soul taking flight.
Wisdom and Truth suddenly seem nearer.

Through space and time, I flew like a lark.
I tried to remain there with all my might.
Guided by the light, I wasn’t the steerer.

From darkness or light, the Truth we’ll still see.
Truth is at home inside both you and me.
Guiding us through life to our destiny.

Premium Member The Moon Embraced the Sun

The shy Moon dims her silver to sleep
Bored of wishes from chattering Stars
She nods off into the dawn glimpsing
The handsomeness of the morning Sun

As twilight breaks the Moon's dreams
She awakes from the warmth of the Sun
The mighty yellow sphere bows into the sea
The Moon glows pining for the glorious Sun

Twinkle blinking and mean-full winking
Those pestering Stars laugh out loud
And mock the Moon to break
Into her crescent shape and blue shade

The Moon closes her eyes waning away
Wishing for dawn just to glance
At her beautiful prince of light
Shining with rays of brightness

Whispering Stars secrets dim into day
Their rhythm of rhyme reaches the Sun
Curious he becomes of the Moon
Does she really love me?

A wave of warmth covers the Moon
She peers into the light to see
The smiling face of the mighty Sun
She awakes new and full

The busy Earth looks up
Two celestial bodies embrace
The Moon eclipses the Sun
And blocks his light from sight

The full Moon shines her silver
Bouncing off waves she smiles
Stars blink and twinkle quietly
The Earth hushes round and round

As dawn breaks the Sun waves
And the Moon bows way for day
They have their moments to be
Those silly stars blush silently.
