Home that never was

"Home" is a word that echoes in my mind
A haunting melody, a cruel design
A place where shadows dance, where love's a lie
Where the heart beats with fear, and tears never dry

I've known the weight of hands that meant to hold
But crushed instead, leaving scars that never unfold
The silence screams, a cacophony of pain
A symphony of shattered dreams, a refrain

I've searched for solace in the darkest night
A fleeting peace that's lost in the morning light
The ghosts of memories haunt me still
Echoes of a love that turned to bitter pill

I yearn for a place where I can be free
Where the weight of expectations isn't crushing me
A place where I can breathe, where my soul can rest
But it's a mirage, a fleeting dream, a distant quest

In this wilderness of broken dreams and shattered hopes
I'll wander, lost, with heart that beats like a rope
I'll follow the shadows, the whispers in my ear
Until I find the silence, the stillness that's so dear

Perhaps in the darkness, I'll find my way
To a place where love isn't a four-letter word for pain
Where home isn't a prison, but a sanctuary true
Where I can be me, without fear, without shame, anew.

Premium Member A Convergence In the Moment

 At the river I flow
spirit to watery soul
upon an endless course.
I breathe evergreen illusions
I am rock and rolling stone
in harmony with Gaia
and her offspring.
I flow through lands
rich with gold,
tripping quickly where
chaos unfolds,
to glide with ease
amid jungle trees;
rest in creeks
and sail the seas;
in the moment, I am
helping shift the sands
to lands of pyramids
and diamond mines;
I am elemental so refined
to be the water
as it unfolds
I come to linger
upon distant shoals
and cast my soul-eye
to espy the gentle
creatures walking by.
At the river I flow
collecting tales that
Nature’s told.

In depth, in graves of memory

I brought my rose of peace

If you live on within my heart

                                Your life will never cease

Is earthen vase, in layers of time

                                    Living as we breathe

Then layer by layer this living climb

                          Memories' sword of light unsheathed

                                      In memory, I wield it

                                  It shines within my hands

No longer memories grave I sit

                            Cutting through time's misty lands

Now you are here with me

                                   Funny, joyful, full of life

                                    Alive as you can be

                           Before sorrowed tears and strife

                               Amidst my turbulence of youth

                             Felling vain Philosophies wisdoms

You Shared with me the truth

                             A King beyond earth's kingdoms.

                                Your lovely eyes shown brightly

                                   As sharing with me hope

                                Your weilded sword held tightly

That Light helped you to cope

                              In depth, beyond Grave memory

                                  Resurrected rose of peace

                                Vibrant you, within my heart

                                  Your life will never cease

                                 Though living in my heart

                                You walk on Heaven's shore

We're really not that far apart

                                           Closer than

                                        In days of yore

Premium Member I Breathe Poetry

I breathe poetry of ebullient emotion,
the designer of dreams,
search for the sense of frosted feelings,
as they mingle totally with my twilight time,
my mind merges with densual obscurity,
impulses ingrained.

The crystal path I pave to the realm of retreat
along the contorted contours of deserted desire.
There the roses bloom amidst the spiculed cactus,
within imagination entrained,
take me with the mirage to the oasis of reverie,
with desolation dismantled.

From the splendor sprouts the foliage of fervor,
the canopy cast colors of the new sky
on the poet’s heart abdorbant.
As the twilight sequesters silence in the static time,
the poetry of life flows under the star studded sky
with fluid passion sequined.

The mesmeric moonbeam sprinkles silver dust,
my muse wafts in dreams with the tinsels of longing,
across the indscape mrsmerized,
flies in your firmament on the wings of lyrical zephyr,
entrances me with the rhyme of reminiscence,
as I write the poem for you.

For you, mother

My father was the storm.
He tore through walls,
through skin,
through silence.
And you,
you were caught in the middle,
Just the same as me.

I used to wonder why you stayed.
Why the door never swung wide,
why escape was only a dream I whispered to myself at night.
But now I see
you weren’t free either.
You were surviving.
And survival doesn’t always look like leaving.
Sometimes it looks like endurance.
Sometimes it looks like breathing through broken glass because there’s no other air to breathe.

I was hurt, Mother.
You were hurt, too.
And even if you couldn’t protect me,
I know you loved me with the scraps you had left.
I know you held me when you could,
and that mattered.
It kept a flame alive in me,
small, but burning.

This isn’t blame.
This isn’t anger.
This is me standing here,
taking all the weight of his shadow, and putting it down.
This is me saying:
I forgive you.

Not because it erases the past.
Not because pain disappears with words.
But because forgiveness is my rebellion.
Because healing is my inheritance.
Because love,
the kind that’s not chained,
not twisted,
is what I choose to carry forward.

Mother,
I forgive you.
I forgive us.
And in that forgiveness,
I find freedom.

Thorns and Blood

The roses glisten in the dawn
Their petals wet the air turned cold
You stand there knowing what’s beyond
A truth you never meant to hold

The weight of years hangs on your frame
Your shadow bending with the strain
Though no one ever spoke his name
The earth here knows your deepest pain

The blooms are bright too bold too red
Their perfume sharp too sweet to breathe
You stare remembering what you said
The night you left him here beneath

Your hand extends the petals soft
But thorns remind you where they lead
The sting comes quick your hand aloft
Drips crimson tears the earth will feed

Each drop falls heavy on the ground
A mark that time cannot erase
You hear the silence all around
And feel the garden’s strange embrace

His voice returns it always does
A whisper carried on the breeze
You thought that death could bury us
Our love’s a shadow none can leave

You clench your fists you close your eyes
But still his words curl through the air
The roots beneath seem hypnotized
Their twisted hands pull everywhere

You fall before the grave you made
Your knees against the yielding dirt
Forgive me cracks the prayer you prayed
Your heart laid bare beneath its hurt

The roses bend as if they see
Their blooms aglow with deeper hue
They sway though there’s no wind or plea
And drink the tears you offer too

The morning fades the light recedes
The garden swallows all you gave
And still the roots hold all your deeds
Each secret buried in the grave

I Know No Stone, Only Pain

I mourn your death, though you still breathe and speak,
No carved stone waits where your memory should lie;
I hear a silence where your laughter used to peak,
And rehearse your absence like a practiced goodbye.

There is no grave to mark the shape of your end,
No earth has closed where your shadow might remain,
Yet I still kneel where I imagine you’ll descend,
Tracing future hollowed out by unnamed pain.

I build you a coffin out of all I cannot say,
And line it with the seconds you have not yet lost,
Each one a small betrayal of a coming day,
Each one a quiet accounting of an unseen cost.

Your voice still stands, but I already hear it fade,
Like a room remembering the furniture gone cold,
Like iron slowly learning to degrade,
While no hand has yet dared to make the story old.

So I learn your leave before it learns your name,
And I grieve a shape that time has not agreed to form;
A future stitched from silence, woe, and borrowed flame,
Where I know no stone—only pain keeping me warm.

If only you were

That summer night air forgot to
breathe, I forgot something too.
Not sure what, but I remember:

a star landed in the curved moon
—I saw it in the reflection
of my steaming apple tea

I remember wanting to
tell you, I witnessed a celestial love:
A lone star found her place
rested in the crescent’s embrace
I thought you’d love the story, a love
defying geography. I wondered
if you were seeing what I was, if
our gazes collided

above the thin cotton clouds. I giggled
thinking perhaps it’d count
as a date. I remember

I heard you, in the barely
flowing air, your voice a hushed ghost
I tried to keep you, so
I put light between my fingers
In the wispy gray, you sounded
a little more present, defying
our past and our future—

The stale smoke
smelt nothing like you, but I
remember how it loomed around me
that night, and we watched
In the reflection,
moon and star, until
ripples swallow them into dark auburn

Intertwined
I feel the rushes
Wound ‘round my feet
Intertwined about me
Aspiring to possess my soul
To hold me eternally from below.

I can see
The sunlight above me
Shining far above my face
In shadows of green and yellow
The warmth of the summer sun.

In the dappled water so high above
So near and yet so far beyond…
Offering finite life
Whilst below there is only
The silence
Of perpetual sleep.

I can see
Floating ever after
Trying hard to breathe
Holding in my last breathe
Of sweet and earthly air
While visions of the great beyond
are swimming through my hair.

Bubbles of effervescence rise
Like past and future aspirations
Swirling about
On the thinnest strand
Of my last thread
Of that which toward
I can barely stretch.

Premium Member Update and Poem, To Be More

Yesterday Richard inspired me to write this update. Thank you Richard.

To Be More

3 days of this virus, feels like 3 weeks
Every hour a battle, as minutes flit by
Extreme cycles of hot and cold, ongoing
Losing track of a neutral temperature
Headaches, nausea and chest pain
But mainly the tiredness and exhaustion
Doing minimal things can wipe you out
It feels like it's an effort to think, to breathe
Energy you may use to bring in loads of wood,
It can take that much, to write something like this
Thankfully, I only lost all my breath once
Having to sit down a while to get air back again
But doctors who call daily are still concerned,
I may need more later, so they prescribe inhaler
I am seperate some from my pets I love most
As I try to keep taking care of them in ways advised,
Wearing a mask, washing hands, some distancing
They don't understand and that breaks my heart
But, I am making it and they are making it
Every hour, I think, I survived another hour
I have had serious health issues in the past
But, this is certainly different and my body is at war
A constant cycle of juice, water, vitamins, food, tylenol
Filling my body with all I can to fight and survive this
Because, here, there is no treatment and it's up to me
It is a roller coaster, just after a lift, there is a fall again
Sometimes I feel like I'm dying when crashes happen
But, I am winning!
I won, the prize of seeing a beautiful sunrise this morning
And hearing multiple birds sing happily outside in my yard
I am winning every time this thing knocks me down and I get back up!
Driven to do more, write more, reach more, be more!

Thank you all

In addition, with only using internet from data on cell phone and losing a signal, it gets difficult getting things into soup, without having to enter it multiple times. So for now, that is in my way too. Take care everyone :)
