My wife, my huntress, rides the Holy Wind,
But still, daisies adorn her thick brown hair!
Her muslin robes blow out, her hair's unpinned,
Let dark thoughts try to chase her, if they dare!
For she outrides them all, strews flowers like hopes
And, with her hunting-dogs, argent, and gold,
She frees all prisoners, breaks all hangmen's ropes
A sure shot from her bow, and - young and old,
The wretched find their freedom come at last!
The hopeless rise and throw off fear's dull chains,
The blinded see the Now, Future, and Past
The horses lead their riders without reins!
Now, through the Night, she bolts like lightning's fire!
A fiery seraphim, who'll never tire!
Blind in one eye with the voice of a shrew
Her chin came to a point, moles wildly grew
From her cheeks in a manner grotesquely askew
Charming she was; you just had to view
Her misshapen fingers, all gnarly and bony
Her neck with its dirt-covered mane, like a pony
And her breath, ever reeking of stale macaroni
Charming she was; you might say she was toney
Her garb so macabre that it gave me a fright
Her eyes bolts of lightning, turning grown men white
Of a sudden, mad Zelda shot me a sensuous look
So I popped the big question; "Hey, witch, can you cook?"
With a sneer and a snarl, she replied in this way:
"Try this brew from my cauldron; it'll make your day."
The taste was a bit strange; I didn't know what to say
Then I looked in the mirror ~ It had curled my toupee
Imagine now if you could that you were the one who created man and thought it was good
Would you change anything in the world today
Or would you keep everything the same way
Would you have let your creation evolve
If you start over again what problems would you solve
Would you turn back time at a fast pace
And never given life to the human race
Would you send your son over again you could save him from the cross and not suffer in pain
You might send a flood wait you did that once before
Your creation didn't learn then do I have to tell you more
You could send bolts of lightning striking your creation down in pain
But in a thousand years all will be forgotten and your creation would still do the same
Cosmic Adventure
There, upon the launchpad, the countdown proceeds
as bolts explode, and the umbilical apparatus releases,
and massive amounts of energy bursts from engine ignition
to create propulsion thrust and lift-off reaction
for the vehicle’s escape from Earth’s gravitational attraction
in sequential stages, skyrocketing into the orbital trajectory
of slingshot phenomenon to the universe of cosmic adventure,
likened to explorers in olden days piercing the unknown aperture.
Through the porthole, astronauts marvel at the spectacular scenery
as they watch their country on the blue planet disappear gradually.
Emotionally restrained, the astronauts resume their mission,
methodically pushing buttons and recording observations
in a four-dimensional continuum relativity experience,
limited in scope by the laws of scientific ingenuity.
Once, when life had me believing that it was a thing so great
I chose to follow its stride
Why, I lived as one of the many
I lived as all the others
I warmed my hands with friends
I chose a young heart to dream of a new start
And felt vain about everything else
Pride rhymed with my being
Yes, nothing could strike me
Nothing, not even the skies' deadly lightning bolts!
But then
I did suffer the consequences of love
Yes, love was to me, cruel
Even if I did bend down to it
Tolerate
And accept
To the point of losing my dignity
Why;
It did empower me
It did
The day I came to know of love's true face
Why,
My Beloved did prefer my best friend
Yes, he did!
Life broke up in a million pieces
No more did I see it as a thing so great
No more did I even want to follow its stride
Wanted I to cease to exist
For a gross being had I been all this time
A gross being who fell for the pleasures of this world
A gross being who did think of herself as one so vain
As nothing could strike her
Not even the skies' lightning bolt
But I did rise above it
Yes I did
See you, the skies had me all molten
Why, they opened up
And bid me to have strength
They opened up
And gifted me with an awakening
They opened up
And I smiled again
Uncaring, free, totally at peace
With myself and with the whole world
Totally mindless
Of that love and that friend who both
Did slip away from me
Yes,
It did empower me, it did have me bloom into a pure flower
Do know, please do
That things happen for a reason
Should you someday lose yourself, lose your hope,
Pray, have some faith
Know that the skies shall grant you a shoulder to grope
Yes, they shall
For that is how I did come to rise above it all!

and where the step from road to pavement mirror the staircase, carpeted,
the roundabouts, abandoned at night, are those stools by his kitchen island –
and how the park, grassy clumps covered in silent dew, reflects his garden patch in concrete,
the flashing sign of an underground, rumbling, sparks similarly to that faulty living room bulb –
and within the litter blowing in midnight sighs, its his clothing, bedding, tossed in sleepless irritation,
in the hissing of a pipe, a cool water drip onto hot metal, he hears the plop of a tap left unfixed –
and when shop keepers open their shutters, as the market stalls stretch and yawn,
he feels his own eyelids droop, rusted and propped apart with knuts and bolts for the day to come

It was old fashioned shopping,....floors were warm planks of wood
Where footsteps sounded hallow, and the walls were lined with goods
A “5 and 10” cent heaven, … was the friendly Woolworth's Store
One would always be surprised, what revolved behind that door
How quickly flew the hours of a summer afternoon,
to fritter through the clutter, that lay in waiting there
Time would disappear upon a dime, with a sweeping of the eyes
like the feather dusting of the racks on the shelves of all the years
One could hear the clink of metal that nourished the till
Where children holding a mother’s hand, could be rewarded for keeping still
Little hands, restrained, would tire, leaning over a heart’s desire
While a mother would conspire with the clerk of the day
For there a child would stand in mute dismay,
An indecisive millionaire, a fight of tooth and nail despair
With fifty ways they might disburse two whole nickels in a purse
A bit of this and a bit that, a stack of crayons, a pair of socks,
Some satin ribbons, a new array of small barrettes, to dress the locks
Cases of candy, a licorice whip, eyes embracing one after another…
Laces or vases, sissors or needles, color climbing color
The stacked up bolts of ginghams, worsteds, chintz and serges
Trays of trinkets, and souveniers, ‘Evening in Paris’, the bottle was gorgeous
All of these things, under a dollar, even a collar for all the pooches
To know how it was to sit on a stool, after school
Order a sandwich, and sip sodas, always cool and sublime
This was how Woolworth’s….a store of the past
Would build a memory to last and last…..,
Forever in time, for a nickel or a dime...
....how much more could one girl find, and how much could one child ask?

Litany of the White Stars
It's white night that snows constellations in my open soul,
with your crystal lightning bolts, silver star shards falling down,
garlands of tears transformed into diamonds of pure ice,
from a sky lit by dreams, unforgettable in eternal memory,
where magi recite their holy verses written in the moon's book,
not earthly gold, nor altar myrrh, but the light of your gestures,
child of our ritual kisses, born from the mystery of worship,
beneath the flickering of our eyes that read in ancient runes,
celestial velvet caresses, from mystical aurora borealis,
your love, cosmic lighthouse bringing us revelations from the depths,
shivers of alchemical longings, of love's divine liturgical chant,
with you beside me in magic circle, to love you in sacred silence,
and in the tumult of the profane world, to you I carol eternal prayers,
of starlit dawns of longing, to adore you in invisible temples,
from the meadows of your emerald gaze, your sapphire dawning,
toward urban blocks transfigured into pyramids of light,
avant-garde modern Christs, neons like sacred altar flames,
when winter shall become eternal ritual, ceremonial and ancestral,
giving the word love the power of everlasting incantation,
so we may love like initiates, live like enamored demons...
You are my polar star, you are the magical and luminous child,
growing in the womb of your thought like a seed of light,
the fire of our divine love, violet flame that envelops us,
from life transfigured through alchemy, from immortal love,
from serene sky opened like a portal, love has snowed upon us, touched us,
cosmic lighthouse of crystal, unquenched forever and ever, a secret meaning,
my love's kisses like petals of magical white rose,
the white's mother-of-pearl shades, astral and opalescent colors,
of eternal ritual caresses, blessed by angels,
our love's sacred symbols, signs drawn in the air,
glimmers of stars dancing in spirals of pure light,
gently we snow in ancient ritual, with shivers of transformed snow,
over us, our love, forever blue as the magical sky...
So your world ain’t gardenias, or lightning bolts or honey
So you ain’t making a difference, and you’re long out of money.
So your day is gloomy, overcast, and your outlook is not sunny.
Kick up those heels, show us your gams.
Throw away the absolute’s, become a ham.
Shake your bootie baby, shake your boots.
Release yourself, find your dance roots!
So your day is bad, and your boyfriend is a absolute heel.
Here is the scoop, woman, the utmost big deal.
Be yourself, don’t let others attitudes darken your wheel.
‘
Kick up those heels, show us your strength
Throw away the rules, who cares what others think?
Twirl and whirl as hard as you can away from that man.
Give yourself a break, enjoy your life as much as you can!
Sinister were the clouds that emptied their kettles
I lowered my umbrella and gave a defiant stare
Raindrops stung my face like needle sharp nettles
Daringly, I squared my shoulders, letting anger flare
Lightning flashed in jagged shards, trying to scare me
Thunder bellowed loudly; his blatant echoes roared
I stood my ground, straight and tall as a Sequoia tree
bracing myself against the wind as the deluge poured
Behind an opaque black veil, stars remained hidden
shrouded as they were on another foul-weather night
Memories claimed me as they hastened, unbidden
to sear my broken heart again. I felt the flames ignite
Thunder no longer rumbled. No more lightning bolts
I wanted to believe that I'd tamed the vicious storm
but ferocious winds howled, "Humans are such dolts!"
Nature let me know that it was I who had to conform
I trudged on with an attitude of contemptuous disdain
Bitter at the blustery weather, howling like a banshee
I faced the night head-on, fighting the torrent of pain
Once again, I broke free in a courageous act of apogee
