It burns

My heart breaks
over his indifference.
He sweeps past me
as though I am nothing -
nothing,
as though I am invisible,
eyes brimming with hope,
with love.

My heart breaks.
Perhaps I am invisible to Him.
Perhaps I am unimportant.
Yet to me, he is the opposite.
Oh my,
this bloody boy -
my only propulsion.

My heart shatters,
shatters in pieces.
My eyes burn,
burn from tears -
tears without end,
dropping from my eyes
like a silent English shower.

My heart shatters.
I see it now:
he made it clear.
I am nothing.
He doesn’t care.
He never did.
I was foolish…

My foolish heart is broken.
I believed in love.
He wrote me -
but why?
He cared.
I know it to be so.
Yet he fooled me.

My foolish heart is broken.
Never to be fixed.
I give you my word,
you, otherworldly boy -
I will never fall for it,
fall for this insidious feeling,
other fools call love.

Destruction Zombies

Anger washes through my blood streams

While dancing demons clatter within my dreams

Voices are heard with no where to run

When loud heat rays reflect from our sun

Shadows dancing left and right

From demonic eyes deep in the night

People screaming and running around

High whistles and demonic sounds

Children raising from the shallow graves

Trying to decipher my foggiest maze

No one will listen, no one will talk

No one will reach the top or walk the walk

How do you listen to deaf sounds?

How do you unbury graves within our grounds?

Who will answer when you call?

Who will pick you up when you begin to fall?

Children raising from our crooked tombstones

Werewolves howling throughout black moonstones

Screams of fright and hungry moans

Distant valleys and untold groans

Bloody mountains and poisonous snakes

Watching in horror as our precious dead wakes

The city up in smoke and fires

Compacted cars with nothing but tires

City of destruction, valley of hate

Do I try to run or accept this fate?

Everywhere I turn there’s zombies on all sides

While the ocean blows up with tsunami tides

Creatures forced to race from their homes

While faeries and fey collide with giant gnomes

Death screams twist and death screams moan

I’m completely lost --- there’s no going home

The trees they claw at my clothes

When will the nightmare stop?

Nobody knows…

Father of all bombs when dropped
five times greater than the mother
Where a fallen angel's dance begins
fornicating with matter darkening subjects
through and through dimensions opening a porthole
Acting a tough guy with your orange face
shows little wit as one peace maker
gives a bloody nose to politics to say the least
To this sinful act of heresy that's displayed under lies
in provoking war with the show of strength and power
Blind becomes your weakness
Takes more than courage to grow a backbone
to be humble aggression is by deeds done
under one sign of weakness shows where the insecurity dwells

Goodbye To the Colorful Past

I miss the colorful past.

I remember how it would blow past me,
encompass my entire being.
Its hues gave me hope,
made my chest swell with glee
when the pure lights danced upon my fingertips.

Until everything changed.

It was when it turned into different shades of grey.
When the memories created despair instead of joy.
They were drug along my skin, deeper and deeper,
leaving big, bloody gashes that wouldn't heal.

My retired dreams, dead right in front of me.
The dreams that had been reality,
now faded into my lifeless corpse.
My dreams, they were snatched away
along with the freedom to be with them.

It was when the sickness spread among us,
when we quarantined to save ourselves,
that I grasped onto my perfect actuality,
desperate to keep it safe, conserve it,
but it slipped through my fingers.

And so I was alone again.
Those dreams died out.
Dreams of real friendship.
Dreams of belonging.
Dreams of recently-found normalcy.

Dead, disrupted, dysfunctional dreams.

My painfully perfect, dreamy, recently retired reality.

The colorful, hopeful, clear past
is now ash that blows past me,
pieces tangling themselves into my hair,
bringing sharp pain instead of bittersweet hope.

Where did the blissful life go?
Will she return or is she gone?
Will she truly be dead forever?

Everything is bland now,
both memories and body.
We are lifeless.

I miss the colorful past.

Skin felt the pain

While playing a peaceful golfing game

Challenging the course’s blister campaign

Terrorizing the toe

Forcing a temporary surgical sew

Oh

No

To keep this show

On the go

They must know

Basic health care

Not to scare

Removing infected nail

Transporting remains towards the waste management pail

Bloody and red

Now dead

Left as trash

Above the fairway grass

Next to Frank’s Furter

Who was murdered

After pork barrel spending

And over lending

Worth commending

Pending

Cooking the links

Hearing what others think

About another medical review

Of the pinkie one too

Country club house bound

And the parfect round

No bogeys in sight

Feeling right

Since all has healed

Closing the deal

Without a squeal

Or scream

From the green

Manicured and pristine

Ready for a four-day dream

The bloody face of the Moon sets off stars,
that bright little spice within the darkness.
There’s a fighting spirit that’s raising ours
with it’s shadow that glows so luminous.

A life-force that sparkles with every drip
peppers the ground with a glittery hush.
When all those inhibitions start to slip
your inner passion responds with a rush.

As the heated colors brighten and change,
it shows you that a whole sky can open.
Feelings can be demanding to arrange,
sometimes the only way is with a pen.

This path’s unfolding and unexpected
but somehow it leaves you resurrected.

The Demons of My Soul

In the darkness of my soul
The demons howl and scream
My visions they came and stole
Nevermore to rest in dream

When the demons came
They entered one by one
I'm never to be the same
Blackened is my sun

The torment and tears
Bloody cuts and scars
Furrowed deep in years
One too many, as the stars

The demons chant and whisper
My soul learns their words
Their call ever crisper
Hailed from other worlds

Dragging me deeper into blackness
Their hush a mighty roar
Overcoming my every weakness
Their thunder makes me soar

Evermore to my own demise
I crawl at the speed of night
Their bloodied words and bloodied lies
A blackened, blinding light

Scoring far into my very soul
From broken flesh, my blood runs free
Gazing out from the abysmal hole
I see the screaming demon here is me

I know I’ve caught a virus,
as I lay back and sweat;
‘Til all hours of the night
my pillows and sheets are wet;
From the slashes that I make
the cuts, the bloody streaks;
Or maybe it’s your soul,
racing down my cheeks;
I know that I’ve got a fever
my temperature has spiked
Honey, it’s been elevated
since I looked into your eyes;
Forced isolation,
committing slow suicide;
I need to hear your voice,
I need to feel your rhymes;
Come to me with open arms
let me taste your pulse;
Maybe mine will quicken,
a burn soothed by your touch;
Honey, you are the medicine
Break me so it stops hurting
Heal me? We can stop the spreading;
Our vibe is the answer;
You and I together are the vaccine.

Less Tangible Than Air

Less tangible than air
but they live everywhere
with an impact more real
than iron and steel

No shadows they cast
though the sun blazes past
nor substance to block
the light that they mock

Yet block it they do
and obscure it from view
with their energies dark
and their beastly mark

Sworn enemies of man
and God and His plan
They delight as we mourn
our slaughtered unborn

The usual suspects
those Heavenly rejects
contrive and conspire
and their chief is a liar

Misled to believe
the tales that they weave
We are all too willing
to join in the killing

As we watch evil rise
it should be no surprise
that insanity rules
forming thick bloody pools

And delusions abound
among people, unsound
given over to rage
in this mindless age

Don't make the mistake
to believe they are fake
Just because you can't see
doesn't mean they can't be

Even winds are unseen
yet the tree tops still lean
when the atmosphere blows
as everyone knows

So please bear in mind
though the whole world is blind
to our foes now concealed
they'll soon be revealed

Then these demons from hell
nevermore can compel
human beings to kill
one another at will

And our God shall prevail
as the evil ones wail
leaving death and despair
less tangible than air
