What is on your mind today?
A war without repercussion
Or the History of creationism
A birth without the pain or vivid stories
A wedding without the bride or groom
A young life cut down to soon.
A presidential race without any lies
A casket without a cadaver
Facebook with friends or backstabbers?
Cancer treatment without radiation
Recession without a long bailout
or wearing high heel with toes out
A week without snow or rain
Birthday wishes without leaving messages
Being so darn broke,
you are so ashamed
Your limp wallet smoke
Buy one get the other free
What up with that deal
When a man is ready to be faithful
Is he ready to accept his failures?
Is our lives based on Bollywood referrals act.
Isn’t that the true facts?
this year no party
covid orchestrating
social distancing ~
To make your 2020 birthday extra fabulous
plan ahead your strategy in great detail
you may need to pick up a few special things
like items for a fancy meal to celebrate in style
a favorite drink for toasting to your health
ingredients to whip up a cake to decorate
while counting birthday candles one by one
You’ll be ready to greet the day
and dress for a leisurely nature walk
check your mailbox for some cards
then your emails for birthday wishes
receive phone calls from good friends and
schedule video chats with loved ones
Arrange the table festivelike
worthy of a fancy gathering
set it all up for the guest of honor
dream up a wish blow out your candles
At night watch an exceptional movie on tv
lighting incense for instant ambiance
stretch out lounging in your favorite chair
and listen to nostalgic tunes
invite your muse for uplifting poetry
savor the night away enjoying every minute
to welcome in with gusto your new year

Be still and know true peace of mind,
Intuit sure feel with heart set right;
Reach for deep glow as cheer now finds,
Truth syncs sure will with joy in sight;
Heed then the way of sensuous sighs,
Dance with fond swirls warm touching thrills;
Ask love each day to cast fond highs,
Yes to the world where zest brings fill.
Wear a fond poise with faith and hope,
Intent now moves the craft you sire;
Sense sparkling choice that flavours scope,
Hear how love grooves in ample fire;
Expect pure joy to echo cheer,
See simple ploy fund happy here.

Happy birthday wishes to Susan Lawrence today (29 Jan) - may your day be as beautiful and uplifting as your poetry and art.
Above a plain a mountain rises
on it grows a forest green -
within that wood there stands a pine
a talisman of growth unseen
Upon its branch there grows a cone
inside that pinecone dwells a seed -
within its womb a prophecy
of birth and life: a family tree
Through glorious forest sails a wind,
an avatar of cleansing breath-
dispersing smoke, transporting rain
to nourish life and stave off death
On restless wind there soars a lark,
within its breast there dwells a song -
a tune set free from gravity
a song of flight and liberty
Above the wind ascends the sun,
its trek through space of lavish worth
delivering on thermal wave
a warmth that warrants life on earth
Warmed by the sun's rays lies a shore
with breakers polishing a shell -
when held up to attentive ear
sounds like the sea - it calls to home
And from the mountain's summit soars
an eagle, keen with sharpened eye -
sees all creation in its lays:
so magical yet ordinary
infinite yet temporary
the majesty of growth and birth
of harmony throughout the earth:
of nourishment and unity,
of life and death and liberty,
of home and warmth and family.
That eagle is the artist
with a poet's far-reaching vision
And she carries on her wings a message
to heal mankind of all division
A young girl came into the bookstore with her family…
directly to the children’s section they made their way
and when she placed three books upon the counter
she proudly said, “Today is my birthday!”
I leaned over to wish her a happy birthday as she smiled up a me…
“I got 3 books,” she said, “for my birthday wishes…3 things I want to be!”
“Oh, I can see you as a doctor I smiled…and as a pilot how high you’re going to soar…
and I have no doubt,” I said holding up her third book,
“you’ll be the greatest dinosaur!”
She was happy with her choices……Doctor…pilot…dinosaur…
and I again wished her a happy birthday as they exited the store.
I felt honored that to me…she made her wishes known…
and as she waved goodbye…I added to her wishes…some wishes of my own…
Just a few wishes for her I wanted to address…
I made a wish that her life will be filled with happiness…
I wished for a family and friends who love her…
who will help to make her life worthwhile…
I wished for someone to grow old with
who will always make her smile.
I wished her a life filled with as much joy as possible
and a minimum of turmoil…
and if she wants….some children of her own
and grandchildren she can spoil.
My final birthday wish for her was that she be
the best doctor/pilot/dinosaur every moment she’s awake…
which, if all my other birthday wishes for her come true…
should be a piece of cake.
??????BIRTHDAY WISHES TO MOM??????
Across the miles, a love so true,
Reaches out to wish a happy birthday to you!
Though distance apart, you're always near,
In my heart, where love and memories appear.
Every year, your beauty will always shine,
A radiant soul, with a heart so divine.
Your kindness, care, and guiding light,
Have shaped my life, & made everything right.
On your special day, I want to say,
How grateful I am, in every way.
For the sacrifices, the laughter, & the tears,
For the love you've shown, through all the years.
So here's to you, dear mom, on your birthday,
May it be filled with joy, love, and every happiness in every way!
Though we're far apart, know you're always near,
In my heart, where love and memories appear.

Miss Vivian, our precious girl,
On this, your special day,
Your Mimi and your Big Daddy
Just have one thing to say:
Oh, happy day, sweet little one,
We hope it’s a delight,
And that you get a piece of cake
When you get home tonight!
Your grandpa’s going back to work,
Retirement’s just too hard,
I think that I’ll go head to head
With Hallmark greeting cards.
Apparently, there’s cash to make
By crafting sappy drool;
Sarcastic birthday wishes may
Not sell, but they sure rule!
So try not to catch COVID, dear,
At daycare, while you play,
We’re kind of short on flyer miles,
And won’t be there today.
We’ll settle for a Facetime call,
Not one we’d want to miss,
So we can give a virtual
Sweet, Happy Birthday kiss!

A birthday card inscription for Vivian, must have been last year. Posting to join my collection at the soup...
Like an impetuous dash of time
Everyone are frenziedly falling in line
As we all eagerly await at the carpeted floor
The arrival of our charming celebrity in allure.
Gents got pretty roses… white, yellow, blue and red
Eager to see the majestic beauty -- so great!
We, ladies make a toast with the best champagne
Cheering and wishing while her confetti rain
Today, we’ll spend the whole day and night
Dancing and singing with great delight
With towering cakes, colorful sweets and big balloons
Best orchestra on stage now play in boon
I sing first in solo for my dearest friend,
Wishing her all the happiness which never end
May all the desires of her heart be fulfilled
And her birthday wishes and dreams be achieved
Today, we’ll spend the whole day and night
Dancing and singing with great delight
With towering cakes, colorful sweets and big balloons
Best orchestra on stage now play in boon
I play the sweetest melody on my piano
And everyone jigs and sings for her, too
I recited sweetly my dedication poem
As we give our loving hugs, kisses and roses in bloom.

A tall baseball player with a bat, he knocks it clear
out of the park!
Whilst other boys sit so comfortably at their home,
he is a Varsity player, under bright lights, in the dark!
So goal-driven, a handsome senior, with his own car,
how responsible is he!
With a room full of trophies and shiny, ebullient, joy
filled, team memories.
I know all the practice times and games that brought
you such baseball success here.
Both losses and wins, now bring his parents, myself
And friends to their feet and loudly cheer!
You are a picture of a compassionate heart. brimming
with joy and fiery determination.
For in our family, quitters and excuses, just don’t
cut it, in this American nation!
Your parents, get much credit for sending you to a
private school, where you learned God’s laws.
To add to your busy schedule, you study the Bible
on your own, this puts me a state of awe!
Patriotism runs in our family with passion, and you
look forward to the November election and voting!
You have wanted to vote since age ten…a red, white
and blue heart….most worthy of notiing.
Our lovely town, just won’t be the same next year,
without your laughter, goodness, and bright smiles in it.
But dearest Grandson, God bless you, in your academic studies.
in college next year, I just know, you’ll be a scholarly hit!
I am so glad, that God in his goodness, gave you to our family,
and He will guard you in all your winsome ways.
Spread your goodness and happiness wherever you may go, as
we llght colorful candles with joy~ and no delay.
Happy Birthday, Grandson
A dedication to my beloved grandson.
Tall, witty, well-educated and then some!

May your day be clad in bright chitenge (colorful flowing garments)
and your ears filled with the music of falling waters!
Lwa mitonda , kaizeli! (We miss you, sister!)
See us run with arms outstretched
like the wings of an airplane
because, if we could, we would fly to you;
see our encircling, turning legs
like those of sprinting cyclists
because, if we could, we would pedal to you;
see us hop, in a sitting posture
like that of a crazy taxi driver
because, if we could, we would race to you.
But we would rather have you here with us
Africa ya kutonda, kaizeli! ( Africa misses you, sister!)
Ku tezi batu - we are waiting for you ( We watch the horizon)
Utwa, ba andamisa - come dance with us. (And the drums are beating)
While distance separates you from us
we talk about you, smile, and say:
Mutu yo munde ki ya na ni sikoka kwa batu; (she will make many friends)
and we want you to remember always:
Ku sebeleza Mulimu, ki makalelo a butali. (it is more blessed to give than to receive)
Be blessed, dear sister!
We wish you peace, we wish you joy
and above all, we wish you love.
