Though some New Yorkers find it odd
To take vacation on Cape Cod
Due to miles in such profusion,
I don't jive with that conclusion.
Yes, it's hours away to reach
And you can find a closer beach,
But it's unique in all its charms,
Embracing guests with open arms.
The stately homes of weathered gray
Gaze out on ocean, sound and bay;
And oh, that chowder! Ah, that fish!
Yum, that ice cream! All delish!
Wander in the cutesy stores.
Gather shells on sandy shores.
Watch the frolic of the seals,
Fighting seagulls for their meals.
Listen to the waves that crash,
A sound to savor and rehash.
Those who seek a true escape
Should look no further than the Cape.
P.S. Here's a helpful tip
To travelers who plan this trip:
If Cape Cod figures in your plans,
Just beware of Red Sox fans!
Lessons on Head Containment
People lose their heads
It’s what they do
And should it happen to you
Someone could use it for bowling
Let us pray for containment
Generally and specifically speaking
It is advised
Don’t be born
At the time of the guillotine
Or be of any political persuasion
From that
Or any other era or period in time
Though guillotine is
The great weight loss program
(“2 pounds off the top please!”)
Keep your head with you at all times
When going for a walk
Place your left hand firmly
Over the left side of the head
Place right hand on right of head
And do not prance
Do not look at the sun
It’s already compromised
Decapitated
Removed from other celestial bodies
If someone chases you with an ax
Run…. (Aspirins won’t help)
Bring a bread sized basket with you
If something should happen
Avoid the cost or loss of head containment
Soak it in cool water
Hide your head under covers
From headless horsemen
Or is it horseless headmen?
Beware of pigmies with their stitches
Try not to dangle in the wind by rope
It makes you look silly & dopy or worse
….. Dead….
If all else fails
Go gambling but
Don’t lose your head
I’m having the craziest time in the Soup
I never knew how perilous that it could be.
But since I landed here loopity-loop,
I’ve felt like the chicken of some really weird sea.
It sure looked delicious the first time that I flew
over the attractive bowl, so that’s why I swooped down.
But then I got too low; my small body, it fell through
the surface of the creamy soup! Oh I fear I’ll drown!
My wings, how they’ve struggled, but it’s just too thick.
Cream of chicken, so tasty, is going to be my demise.
I’m sinking and I’m sinking and now I feel so sick.
Farewell! Beware of Soup, my dear fellow flies!

No world class historic buildings
will you find here.
No historic Trevi Fountain.
No Arch de Triumph, no!
No famous bus lines either.
No major parades seen on TV.
No zany activists with signs nor
drums or harming others will you
see.
You can walk here without fear
day or night.
No knifings, shootings nor fist
fights.
No drive by shootings day and
night.
My sweet city, a gift outright
I learned in Chicago to beware
of my back.
I rarely have that thought, any
longer!
"A boogeyman might get you"
is what I was taught.
Now, I leave my door unlocked
these days.
Unafraid someone might kill
me as I once feared.
And drive without a care that a
car is following me.
You can leave packages on your
deck for days!
Or your mail in a cute rural mailbox.
All will remain perfectly O.K.
Your neighbors roll in empty
trash bins if you are not home.
So, I ask you~ is this a gift from
God or what?
On streets here, as you drive,
people wave to you?
Why...saints alive!
Lovely smiles, a daily surprise.
American flags in pride wave
here.
Pride in the USA is acceptable.
Patriotism is in full, unabashed
gear!
And in this city, poetry found me.
Plus one poet here reached right
Through the screen and into my
soul!
Removed it, so that I became able
to see,
The unbeknownst potential that
resides in me.

Son of Man, pause before judgment's seat,
Lest haste consume your soul's retreat.
Do what's right, yet don't waste precious time,
For pleasing all is a futile rhyme.
In seeking validation, you may lose your way,
And those you please will mock you on your final day.
Marry with wisdom, don't borrow to impress,
For pleasing others can lead to financial distress.
You can't please all, not even those you love,
Do little things that bring joy from above.
Take care of yourself, find happiness true,
For in your joy, others will find joy anew.
Beware of three: the young, the old, the weak,
For lies can bind you, and freedom you may seek.
Heed this advice, a treasure rare and true,
Worth more than gold, and wisdom shining through.
golden sun climbs high
longest day kiss the warm earth~
sweet scent mounts to sky
hills carpeted green
eager leaves drink summer light~
nature`s gift unseen
bees buzz all around
a rhythm of lazy heat~
time seems to slow down
birds` songs fill the air
sparrows hop from branch to branch~
sun`s wrath to beware
berry tastes so sweet
rays of sun, intense and bright~
ice-cream, such a treat
day`s orb sinks to rest
colours bleed across the sky~
mix of hues at best
dance of green fireflies
tiny sparks in twilight's gown~
a charm to the eyes
warm air holds its way
crickets start their nightly song~
hearts feel light and gay
silver moon shines high
sparkling stars in firmament~
darkness fades with sigh
the northern star gleams
guiding wise sailors at sea~
half the world in dreams
feasters quit their rooms
bonfires burn into the night~
flower crowns in blooms
the world feels soft grace
a moment held in its prime~
midsummer's embrace.
The women's body does not
Belong to the government.
Once again this, borders,
On personal harassment.
The woman's body is hers,
It's a personal choice.
The abortion issue ignites the
Woman and her voice.
A typical case of men trying
To control women.
It is a personal thing what
Can grow in her abdomen.
Do you really want another?
Suffragette movement?
Are you doing this for?
Your own amusement?
Abortion has no place
On a ballot.
It will end up in
The court of appellate.
If Roe-VS-Wade,
is overturned.
It is bad juju for
All concerned.
Let's not get the women of
America in an uproar.
The government should stick
To the faces of MT. Rushmore.
I am a woman, I beg you,
"Leave this one alone".
This is for women the
Choice each to their own.
Single mom's make-up the
The majority of single parenting.
If you mess with this, Beware
The day of reckoning.
There are many reasons why
A woman would choose abortion.
If we upset this it can throw
Our existence out of proportion.

2:00 AM
One last drink
A glass half filled with ice
Golden liquid with the bite of a dragon
That glass has destroyed a million dreams
It has made even the lamest idea sound like genius
It has made even the nicest man curse
I was warned about starting a drink at 2:00 AM
It is always the strongest of the night
You may never know what you did
You may end up in bed with what’s her name
You may just end up in jail for the night
There is one thing that every man has taught me
One piece of wisdom that has saved the planet
If you are in a crowded bar look carefully at the clock
Study the hands and where they are
Beware the hour of two
Order your last drink before the cock crows twice
You may survive the night
You may not remember what happened
You may still end up in jail
But just remember what I say
Nothing good ever happens after 2:00 AM
I`ll be Watching You
I`ll be watching you.
Look over your shoulder and watch where you go.
Don`t talk to people you don`t know.
Make no mistake, you've done real wrong.
It might not be today, but it won`t be long.
I`ll be watching you.
I don`t know the time.
Or even the place.
Don`t even know if it will be a familiar face.
But, there will be a time.
And there will be a place.
You days have numbers, you're such a disgrace.
I`ll be watching you.
Oh, I`m sure you know why.
But you`ll never know when or where.
So, I hope that you think about this over and over again.
There`s only one way to make this all end.
I`ll be watching you.
You know you are wrong.
Beyond any doubt.
You've wasted the time to work all this out.
So keep this all fresh in your unburdened mind.
It won`t get swept far behind.
I`ll be watching you.
Does your conscious keep you up at night?
Thinking of all you have not done right.
I guess that may be if you even gave a damn.
Things you have done in your present and past.
Will be remembered till your day last.
That noise, what`s that?
And who is that over there?
That`s right, take heed, you best beware.
I`ll be watching you.......
From Anywhere.
Form:
A small rock detached itself from a distant planet,
And through a NEBULA of pure darkness
Burned its way across the blackness of outer space
Rushed its way to far off Earth by passing its LUNAR orbit.
It left behind MYRIAD sparks all glistening, until
It hit a river on Earth and furrowed a subsidiary way
Till it reached a cliff and fell down in a CASCADE
Creating a deep pond and then a SERPENTINE river flowed on.
Through flowing streams of silver light,
Soft winds blew a PHOSPHEROUS glow,
Producing a LILT of melodies that spread life
Amongst the green ferns. Now two small alligators
SLITHER towards the pond where fish had become plentiful.
Beware. No swimming by request.
