Yesterday, Oh, I believe in yesterday—Lennon-McCartney (The Beatles)
I’ve got sunshine on a cloudy day—Smokey Robinson/Bobby Rogers (Smokey Robinson & The Miracles)
I see trees of green—Bob Thiele & George David Weiss (Louis Armstrong)
Hardships and misfortunes
emerged to be a distant memory
But as my thoughts look back
It seems to reflect a well-told story
When Spring comes to L.A.
Before the month of May
I guess you’d like to say
What makes you feel this way
My girl helps make this day
Red roses true
Flowers bloom blue
The song I sing
A stunning thing
I am just a human
A natural being
Flesh and bone essences
Not an all-seeing thing
A simple citizen
To this land and country
Just one in a million
For life and liberty
Rainbow hues plus
Auspicious light
Skips before us
Rippling and tight
Love was an easy game
Many places to hide
We’ll seek and find your name
As telltale signs to guide
One way they had to go
Was one they did not know
Something they wouldn’t say
Belong to yesterday
Sweet birdsongs sing
Rejoicing bring
This wondrous earth
A new day’s birth
"Come together right now over me,"the Beatles.
"Come together right now over me."
"Let there be peace on earth and let
it begin with me."
These are the troubled times that try men's and women's souls.
Injustices and discrimination's exist in The United States,
And around the world! Economic and/or social discrimination,
Imprisonment and harassment are being filled with an
Explosive flame all over our land. Leaving the survivors
To pick up the pieces and rebuild again!
We need to put down our weapons, our guns and our
Senseless acts of violence. Their is a violent civil
War raging throughout our nation. When acts of
Injustices happen. Pitting American against our
Brothers and Sisters. We need freedom of
Opinions and ideas. "A house divided
Against itself can not stand."
"We can work it out. Life is very short and there's
No time for fusing and fighting my friends."The Beatles.
"We need to declare times of fasting and prayer,
repentance, forgiveness and healing. Resulting
and accomplishing reconciliation. Human life is
valuable And a terrible thing to waste! "Thou shalt
Not kill!" "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thy self."
Love in Christ Jesus!

It might be difficult for those growing up in the 50s and 60s to look back and capture the many issues that captured them
Was it camilot and the Kennedy brothers in the White House? Was it the headline news of the Cuban missle crisis?
Was it Elvis, rock and roll, or the Beatles and Beatniks? Was it the civil rights movement and the Vietnam war?
Some went off to war; some fought on college campuses Some just made love or packed their bags and fled to canada
There was that other war declared on poverty but never won Was it about my graduating high school and starting my life?
Was it the televised words of Nikita Khruschev, "We will bury you"? What about the hippies, yippies, flower children and the Jesus people?
Perhaps our greatest terror was "the Cold War" between USA and USSR There were a myriad of things going on that frightened my generation
It seems the whole world was in a mad rush for change at the same time
Maybe we all were under the influence of MAD(Mutually Assured Destruction).
In spite of it all, the beats from Nashville and Detroit kept people dancing But then, there were those like myself who never learned to dance

Thanks to Rockabilly being wed to R & B,
History changed drastically when Rock became mainstream.
Elvis crooned and moved his hips. Girls began to scream.
Goodness Gracious, Great Balls of Fire – sang out Jerry Lee.
Old folks didn't like to think that Rock was here to stay.
Little Richard, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens: Color didn’t matter.
Drifting into Swinging 60’s, new styles had their day.
Even those who sang Folk Rock got a lot of chatter,
Not to mention Britain’s Beatles and the Rolling Stones.
A lot of singers made it big, at times inspiring clones.
Getting high on LSD went along with Psychedelic Rock.
Era-ending were performances at famed Woodstock.
Oh, how tragic was the loss of Hendrix, Joplin; Morrison too.
From then on, Rock kept changing as its fan base grew.
Memories I have as best are from the early Seventies.
Ubiquitous were bell bottoms, and you could still see hippies.
Singles of Kinks' "Lola," the Eagles' or 3 Dog Night's songs, and more
I’d go out and buy. I also liked some Soft Rock like Badfinger or Bread.
Colorful was my world. Then Disco came. The 70’s was dead!
I believe in warmth
the comforting embrace of a loved one
crackling campfire on a January night
the smile of one who knows you're here to stay
it's been a long, cold lonely winter
I believe in hope
faith is the assurance of things hoped for
the certainty of what we do not see
I don't see it, but I know it's coming
it feels like years since it's been here
I believe in love
the tide that lifts all boats
the surprise gift
the compassionate ear that truly listens
the smiles returning to the faces
I believe in light
and the One who said, "let there be light"
the true light that gives light
empress of the night reflecting glory of the daystar
it seems like years since it's been clear
I believe in song
we sang to the moon last night as she rose:
"Shine On, Harvest Moon", "Moonshadow",
"By the Light of the Silvery Moon".
Little darling, it's all right
We sing again in chill of daybreak
with the roseate glow of realized anticipation…
"Here Comes the Sun"
// The song "Here Comes the Sun" by the Beatles has been my favorite song as long as I can remember, for its simple message of hope, light, warmth, and love. It was the song my daughter chose to have played just before we walked the aisle on her wedding day, a very special moment for me. //
COMMON Interests
Kim and I were both taught to be good girls, and we both believe in God and humanity.
We use long poetical rhyming words like insanity, vanity and profanity.
Both of us like the outdoors, and know there are dangerous things like gravel and snakes out there,
Which will jump up and bite our bare feet and bare toesies without a “I’m sorry” or a care.
Our jester-side is actually in charge of the whole family, and maybe the neighbors too.
We are so terrific wearing this hat, that we conduct whole armies, red, gray, orange and blue.
We both enjoy the Beatles – Yellow Submarine, is a favorite of mine, and that’s no fib.
I was a young teenager when they landed in the states, Kim,you heard them in your pink baby crib.
We agree on second, third, and maybe even fifteen chances for people whom we love.
We like imagery that includes billowy clouds, faeries, and a charismatic turtle dove.
We like Dr. Seuss’ Books, especially ‘Horton Hears A Who’ and ‘The Star Belly Sneetches’,
And we would not turn down a free vacation at wonderful South Carolina beaches.
We do our best to comment on other’s poems with genuineness and love, to an entire group.
Our tastes are similar; we love art, music, gardening, animals and especially Poetry Soup.
Key words: good girls, God, rhyming words, jester, Beatles, love, faeries, Dr. Seuss, love, art

Yesterday, I lost you in my life
At the end of a hard day's night
Something in my heart whispers - "She loves you,"
Still, I want to hold your hand and cry
At the end of a hard day's night
I would walk the long and winding road to find you
Still, I want to hold your hand and cry
I need help, though all you need is love
I would walk the long and winding road to find you
Please show me how we can come together
I need help, though all you need is love
"Michelle," your eyes tell me, "Let it be."
Please show me how we can come together
Something in my heart whispers, "She loves you,"
"Michelle," your eyes tell me, "let it be."
Yesterday, I lost you in my life.

The jukebox glowed, the records spun..
A brand-new age had just begun.
From ‘55 to ‘75,
Music soared, it came alive.
The blues and jazz still held their ground..
But rock and roll had found its sound.
Elvis shook and stole the stage..
Chuck Berry wrote the rebel’s page.
Doo-wop harmonies so tight..
Made the fifties feel so right.
Sock hops, drive-ins, rhythm strong..
Teenage dreams in every song.
Then ‘60s came, the world turned wild..
Music changed.. no longer mild.
Dylan’s words would light the spark..
Voices rose against the dark.
The Beatles led a British wave..
With melodies the world would crave.
The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Kinks..
Turned up amps and broke the links.
Motown gave us soul and grace..
With Marvin, Stevie, and The Supremes' face.
Aretha’s voice, a battle cry .
Made the world reach for the sky.
Woodstock raged in 69..
A moment, raw and so divine.
Hendrix played with fire and soul..
Janis lived, but paid the toll.
Then came the 70s, bold and free..
Led Zeppelin roared with majesty.
Pink Floyd soared, dark side in view..
While disco rose and funk broke through.
From vinyl crackles, echoes bright..
A time of legends, pure delight.
An era lost, but never gone..
For golden music still plays on.
Lately I’ve been trying to understand
if friendship and love must go hand in hand.
And to you my friend I will say this;
friendship without love cannot exist.
For friendship without love you cannot trust,
and love without friendship is nothing but lust.
Friendship alone will need an assist;
friendship and love should always coexist.
To be a friend you must give of yourself,
or your friendship will likely end up on a shelf.
To give of yourself you must have love;
love as pure as the snow white dove.
And nothing in return should you ever ask;
for love is selfless, if you’re up for the task.
And selfless is what we should all strive to be
For this is God’s wish for you and for me.
A selfless person demonstrates his love
by seeking guidance from up above.
Asking God for his strength to bestow
on his dear friend and His blessings to flow.
“All You Need is Love” the Beatles did sing,
But I think friendship is the key to everything.
Once again my friend I will say this;
friendship without love cannot exist.
