Autumn's Wink at Winter

Stares at the glit of a harvested moon,
felicitous sways northernly o'er ripen earth,
divorcing neath horizon's haulage.

Rises the yam sun that courses a forenoon cast,
towering mist espoused crusted loam and verdurous life,
progresses towards insignificance.

Abandon lofty leafy legions,
descension in crumpled layers,
... of impaled saffron petals,
... of lain chartreuse fronds.

Strewn against a capricious path,
the weight of feet crinkles crispy snaps to arouse the quietude,
echoes summons a dusty field in white,
ebbing the tides of a wintry breath.

Afar strewed a few sunflowers to escort its mentored sun,
ere setting to their eastward repose position.

Brisk breeze encounters a trial,
a crafted shawl snuggly wraps,
homeward bound via hot cider,
a lit fireplace as a book is read.

A forested cabin well-engaged boast outwardly entertained,
prominence forestalls in burgundy, copper, and blonde,
snowflakes tenderly smooch the befallen perianths,
forgivingly melts to the usual taste of Autumn.

Japan's Enka Music

Labyrinths tuned to where the Far East lies,
Spilled words occasion a symphonic breeze,
Unfurls white banners where sun paint red rise,
Labyrinths tuned to where the Far East lies,
Cherry blossoms canopies mesmerize,
Import harmony stretched from overseas,
Labyrinths tuned to where the Far East lies,
Spilled words occasion a symphonic breeze.

A stroll pauses, eyes soothe at rock garden,
Silk threads ornately weave life's tapestry,
Innate genteel graces, bows in pardon,
A stroll pauses, eyes soothe at rock garden,
Yon their themes stands banyan tree, roots harden,
Hear lyrics breathe verses to us with glee,
A stroll pauses, eyes soothe at rock garden,
Silk threads ornately weave life's tapestry.

No Fake Fire Drill

No "FAKE" Fire Drill

Residents at high
     land manor apartments
     (aside from myself)
     got rudely awakened -
     by what sounded
     like a screaming,
     seething, and shrieking airplane
early morning hour

     'ere september eleventh
     two thousand eighteen
     with deafening decibel (at
     maximum threshold)
     ear piercing shrill alarm
     rousing atavistic primal
     Neanderthal tapping primal brain
if NOT a atheist secular humanist,

I would aver my linkedin match
     (com mon lee) attributed
     to Abel and/or Cain,
but whether broad
     minded or parochial,
     that deafening fire alarm
     this bloke doth disdain
but to ears of

     volunteer fire fighters,
     that unbearable audio
     warning tone beloved,
     aye need not explain
how appreciative, and
     reassure ring knowing
     rough and ready persons fain
to selflessly risk

     life and/or limb,
     when trucking
     extinguishing arsenal
     with genuine gratitude to gain
demonstrating without
     pomp and circumstance
     the art of being humane
automatic reflexive

     instincts second nature
     where breathe, eat,
     and live for others
     a credo, dictum,
     ethos deep ingrain
within every cell
     of their sturdy bodies,
     sans indefatigable as

     Tarzan and Jane
on par with prestidigitation skill
visa vis tricks of the trade
     discovered via legerdemain,
yet aside from
     power house strength,
     another salient trait
     needed asper physically,

     emotionally, and spiritually exhausting,
     grueling, and taxing job,
     would necessitate one to maintain
composure in the
     midst of pandemonium
     gamely, gingerly, and

     gloriously fighting infernos
(WITHOUT any mon
     key business)
     while training, learning,
     and exacting diligence
     non harried styled
     tailored swiftness!

Friends..
Take us just as we are;
The rough and the smooth.
Accepted and loved.
With nothing to prove.

Friends..
Need us too;
Or that's what we hope.
Ask yourself this:
Are you sick, phat or dope?

Friends..
Gather together in twos, threes or fours.
Uplifting each other.
House and hearts;
Open doors.

Friends..
Share the mountainous journey,
the struggles, the views.
Friends are honest and patient.
All colours.
All hues.

Friends..
Whoever they are, whatever they're like;
Be they short, wide or lanky,
called Steph, Steve or Mike..
We should give as we take
and be present, for sure..

..as our friends are forever.
And maybe.. some more.

What Makes Friendship

What makes distance so touchable,
What makes arm wrestling physical,
What makes fun a thing for two,
What makes tears of missing you,
What makes secrets last, insiders,
What makes smiles, to be tear-wipers,
What makes fighting, ugh, forgivable,
What makes forgiving unbearable,
What makes oops somewhat culpable,
What makes cleanup punishable,
What makes laughs, the one-legged wins,
What makes others say, "Not twins?",
What makes saying goodbye really hard,
What makes memories my field of regard.

Gymnopedie No 1

so this, 0:01
is how,
it feels,
to be, 0:09

at rope's end, 0:11
where I thought,
I had first formed. 0:18
.
start at, 0:20
the end,
where it,
began, 0:28

no beginning, 0:30
thus thinks, I have no end,
no more dichotomies for me, 0:44

free to be, 0:51
everywhere,
here and there,
no point, 1:00

there's no top, 1:03
or bottom,
there's no left,
or right, 1:16

released, 1:17
from,
countless aims,
that propose,
thoughts distinct, 1:31

that exist, 1:32
occasions, 1:34

gauge, not, 1:39
want not,
end not,
start not, 1:50

challenging, 1:51
measure,
just ask,
or request,
the boxless,
wanderer,
the answer comes,
the answer goes, 2:11

there's a directive, 2:13
that I'll attend,
I'll progress,
I'll succeed,
and ascend,
a righteous claim, 2:31

doers are doing, 2:34
and
doing are doers, 2:45

nothing's different, 2:47
subjects are objects,
same similarities, 3:00

tis fate had prepared my table for me, 3:13
number's up, knell rung, 3:17
my Supper at Last, 3:21
... begins! 3:25

Premium Member Radio -PS

From morning light until 6pm at night,
I'm behind the scenes curating delight.
With tones that echo on your radio,
blending local stories into audio.

In the heart of waves, where frequencies ascend,
from AM to FM, radio signals extend.
In the realms of airwaves, where voices roam,
broadcasting melodies that are heard at home.

With many dials, meters and buttons galore,
producing shows, which listeners adore.
Weaving scripts to ensure presenters flow,
creating playlists of songs people know.

Colleagues call me the conductor of sound,
composing themes to entertain all year round.
Preventing silence from all transmissions,
making life easy for my technicians.

Inviting guests from a wide range of places,
from different backgrounds and new faces.
On standby to report on breaking news,
using social media to increase the views.

Monitoring projects are in my domain,
there's also an apprentice I have to train.
It's not just about navigating the studio,
I compose the moments that make hearts glow.

Premium Member Grief Notes

How grief feels is so hard to explain
and each person experiences it differently
For me, my violin holds no solace these days
there are many days that I could play and let
the music envelope me in comfort,
but not this journey

I am having trouble reading
Being an avid reader,
this is very hard for me
I can get through a page or two and get distracted
and never get my concentration back

I am grateful I can listen, though and have
found comfort in audio books and music
Even the reading required by my work is
extra hard and takes so much more effort
my attention span feels like it is a fraction of normal

I am functioning pretty well, but grief hits at odd
times and sometimes takes me under
I know that the grief is a product of the love that I have
for my son, who is now safe and healed, but not
present in my life anymore and there is a huge void

Premium Member Get Lost Depression

I've struggled most of my life with chronic depression.
On an everyday basis I have had to deal with this demon.
It's like we both have been lifelong annoying companions,
but that has changed for the better, I am an improved changed man.
A friend of mine, let's call her Roxanne,
sent me an audio lecture on depression given by this outstanding man.
I listened to that lecture again and again,
and before I knew it I began to approach differently my depression.
I still get depressed every now and again,
but I now no sooner get depressed and realize why it's happening,
and before you know it, I've bounced back on my feet enjoying life again.
It's as if I run into my old demon and say, "Get Lost Depression!,"
and then as quickly as it arrived, my depression is gone.
No therapy, therapist, doctor or any medication,
has ever helped me at all struggling with this life long demon.
The only true and effective help I have ever received from anyone,
was when Roxanne Meadows sent me Jacque Fresco's lecture on Depression.
