Premium Member Diving In

When I am looking at the end of the board, my world shrinks down to that one foot at the end of the board. My hands swing gently back and forth, and back again. My mind tries to focus letting all the noises from outside of it fade into the background. Because when is it truly ever quiet? The noise almost becomes something, calming, and normal, very reassuring.A song runs through my head keeping all the fragile bits of you together. Do the hurdle first. Is all I can think, do the hurdle then the dive. My arms swing forward once again, but this time you take my first step perfectly in time with the rhythm of my movement. I take a second step, covering ground, quickly, but not rushed. And then my third step, a powerful lunge that caries my other foot high as my arms rise to the celling I put all of my power into the final jump, landing squarely on the end of the board crouching down, letting my arms circle around, then reach towards the heights I wish to achieve and feeling the board spring me into the sky, where I hang suspended in time waiting the one precious second, letting myself reach my full height. Then I throw your arms down with the accumulated power and momentum that have been waiting for this very moment. I touch my toes as they touch the sky, the wind ruffles my already wet hair, and the feeling of flight has never been so close the world flashes past and I dimly realize that the celling has come around again, and it is time to extend. I am in full control as my body straightens and my toes point down to the water once again. This time though I am falling, not flying, yet it does not seem any worse. My arms stay close to my side and my body stays perfectly straight as my first toe touches the water, which then engulfs me. I sink slowly down staying straight, until my feet touch the bottom of the thirteen foot pool and I am once again pushing up towards the light. My head breaks the surface and it seems as if I catch up with time again. Somewhere an announcer is calling out the judges’ scores, but all I can notice in this bewildering moment is the smiles and congratulating high fives of the people I know the best, my team. I did it. I think, allowing a small moment of pride.I mingle and wait, counting the seconds, until I can fly again.

When His Works Were Different From Everyone Elses

we heard the rumors before.
some say we were crazy to
bring it up in conversation.
last week when we went off
the air we promised a
contention bout.
Live and in color the following
week, we came on air: but
what we thought to be wasn't
let's just say "not at all"!
The ring announcer was interupted,
a slew of former champions and
great grapplers
came out and stood in the ring. Media President
and head Ledgerer, spoke
and offered every champion in the building,
an oppurtunity to cement there legacy.
When he said every champion he meant even
those in the audeince
and visiting members from other companies.
Durning the coommercail break we heard
on camera the current (@$@ Worlds champion say,
" I don't think a World full of Champions
Look at there contention as threats
, maybe obstacles"!
well our reigning World champion didn't
like this man speaking on his behalf,
When both men were in the ring, Former
Worlds Champion Tasil Bacco, tok the microphone
and called both men Precursers to a new beganning"
it looked like a battle royal.Or a Championship Zuffa.
It took twenty minutes
o sort through
the rushes. They teased and teased
until
an angry member of the championship commity
took the microphone
and said the atheletic commision already
had heat with them they
didn't need to
send a bunch of angry fans
home.
he took out a contract and
wrote winner
tkes all
and handed the contract around
twelve champions, and four former
 champions, and six alltime greats
signed to have a battle royal, and name
the winner United Worlds Champion
Promoter Bainney Beam subtitld the crown
The Independence World Champion.
#0:45 we
were down to two men. The One Worlds Pride
Worlds Champion RInn Felcco and Succo Kusura
Big Japan's Ultra Worlds Champion.
They out wrestled one another, than
they boxed one another
and at the end Kushura high cross bodied Felcco
and Felcco rolled all the way through
and small packaged Kusura for the victory!
After match celebrations didn't
last long, Gif Guesser, Felcco Partner
stormed the ring
hugged felcco, and clothedlined him
and followed it up with a Big Meany Piledriver.

Premium Member Grandma Goodie, Goodie

Have you met, good old Grandma Goodie, Goodie,
With her gingerbread house of sweets emporium,
Tasty treats unwholesome to eat, but oh in pleasures
Indulgence, she corners the market, the bitter,
To the sweet, with her delicious confectionery delights.
Skip, skip along the forest path of the unknown
Trail, it’s the only way to find this elderly ladies,
Fabled cottage of gumdrops and Lully pops.
Crumbling bread crumbs did you leave behind, a mark to
Follow but the black birds did eat them, piece by tender piece.
So lost you became in the wilderness wild, that you feared never
To escape, from this evergreen forest of nightmares.
Oh brother's grim, did the futures outcome look bleak until you,
Spotted, good old grandma's goodie, goodies emporium sign.
Come in all little children, and dine.
As giant candy canes lined the walk ways
Entrance of honeycomb’s of flavor to savor.
It taw’s late the hour for which you arrived,
But this elderly dame entered with a heart felt
Welcomes deepest desire, come along child
Of man, whatever you most wish will appear by
Your sweet tooth’s command.
She’s just a sweet elderly gran after all,
What harm could there be in excepting her
Hospitality, beware, says the phrase do not
Take candy from strangers comes to mind!
Nibble, nibble on her gingerbread window sill,
And fast asleep shall thee fall, under a witches
Ungodly spell, incantations evil enchantress,
Hidden beneath a grannies disguise of lavender
And white lace.
But illusions fade with the light of day,
And darkness must shed their masks of deception,
Before striking at their intended prey.
Yet modern technology, rings the apps sounding
Bell, awakening me from this childhood story gone
Cannibal!
As I take a deep signs breathe of relief,
My clock radio goes off, and on it is a
Commercial break, advertising a candy shops
Grand opening, just then a chill runs right
Through me freezing my blood to the bone,
Come along the announcer speaks, to Grandma
Goodies emporium of delicious treats,
And I promise you won’t be disappointed
My dear friends and listeners.

Fresh Wounds

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Crushed Spirit dipped in sorrow
Lashed and Slashed pains to borrow
When I shower my love they bash me down
Value me not and insults to crown

Followed LORD's decrees to love your enemies
blend it with cares , peace and the remedies
Carried your word with all my heart
Saving one soul and a relation to start

Showered love with my tender cares
Did all I can with all I could share
Gave innermost love like a sister so dear
Shared LORD's word for change to come over

Never imagined she too will slash
With her dirty language and words so rash
For devil took her entire charge
Control was gone and was open to bark

In the end she tortured me so brutally
Though my love was served so faithfully
For every word she has to pay
Time will show her the perfect way

She even hurt the servants of GOD
Teach her LORD with your staff and your rod
Ruthless words were thrown on them
It was similar to insulting YOU n ur men

Lord's servants in the end will be saved in HIS arms
For LORD will cover US in all our forms
For wicked people will be put to shame
LORD will save us and crown us with fame

My crushed spirit cries out Loud
LORD will hear me and save me out
Calling her sister was just soooo wrong
Mistake was mine , for she was a fraud
What will happen when she'll come too see
Time will show her when same she'll reap

Am waiting patiently for my LORD to answer
Vengeance is HIs and He'll be the announcer
LORD's Glory will be then bestowed on me
For I'll follow HIS decrees wherever I'll be.

LORD POUR OUT UR PRESENCE ON ME N HEAL MY WOUNDS-- VENGEANCE
IS ALL YOUR. AMEN

The Blipe'n: Blippers Made there debut in a six man tagteam amtch
against the current champions. It was billed and Promoted as a six man tag. But one member of the World champions (tagteamchamp"s partner) refused to perform siting his role was undefined. well the referree started the match anyway. The Blippen blipper's all three members posted -up and competed: domanating all areas and points of the mastch. Twelve minutes after the opening bell, Cuspin Ackey pinned Hurnixparmorre and the referre award the belts to the winning team. Read the contract! read the contract! the referre said before jumping out the ring. The belts turned over due to the fact the contract stated the six man tag match would determine the who were champions. The Cluase stated the third mans championship role was undefined." promoter " The Big Thrill" Edouard Clasp protested on the tagteam champions interest: while Promoter "Ole" Gisspen Attoll stood tall for the Blippers. at the end of the show the Commity on Grapplers affairs: sent a letter to the ring announcer. The letter stated that the refferees descion was final: but the belt were to be returned to the former Champions due to the fact the match was not a legetimate six man tagteam match. In the record book the Change would stand and say that the Blippers were Champions in dispute and executive action awarded the belts to the former champions. This made them both contenders and changed there ranking from - ten to number one.Breakbeat-boombam verses Indie rock and Grnunge! ( a work or an angle? we heard the officail ask: who's behind this one? The officail was heard saying off camera: he didn't sound happy!)

Premium Member She: the Newly Declared Saint

You
stood by my side
tall
unafraid
unyielding,
a tower of
strength!

You were:
my doctor
my mother
my sister
my nurse
my paramedic
my guardian angel.

Ready you were:
to oppose the invading virus
to protect me, your child,
to cure me
to save my life.

Day by day
night after night
vigilant you stood
depriving yourself:
of sleep
of food
of your family.

Little by little
your efforts paid off
the enemy retreated
I recovered.

Jubilant you were
ecstatic
shouting for joy
for
having rescued me from
death's embrace.

I left the hospital
returned home:
to my wife
to my children
to my family.

A few days later
I tried to contact you
to show my appreciation
for your many sacrifices
and
to thank you for offering me
the gift of life

Alas
you were not there.

They told me you had passed away
victim
to the disease, you had fought against
for to cure me.

You had left they said
for a better world
a world,
where our Lord of love a special place
had reserved for you:
His newly declared saint!*

The ranking members of both of he board of directers and the championship committee have filed greivances, curing promoter Hossinger, who insist that the World Champion atteam champions violate the rules restricting them from defending the their tagteam titles in a non sanctioned match in New Zealand. He spoke of the trainers unsportsmen like conduct not being artistically creative enough to talk down the heated combatants, which resulted in a nonsaction match were the titles turned over and the promotion had to strip the champions of the belts and reward them to these men, Hexsel and Swivel Maddox, who now must compete, against one another but n the his no disquilifcation bout to

I sat in front of the TV to watch my football game,
When from out of the bedroom an order in my wife’s voice came.
“Honey could you fix me some Dr. Pepper, please, with lots of ice?
And, if you fixed an English muffin, that sure would be real nice.”

So I missed the opening kickoff, returned for a score,
As I settled back on the couch to watch a little more.
“Honey, I need to use the bathroom, could you help me to me feet,
And while I am in there, do you think you could change the sheet?”

I got her back in bed, and made sure she was all right,
As I heard the announcer saying, “What a game we have tonight”.
“Honey could you get my magazine and find my reading glasses?”
I hope I can see one play before the half time passes.

“Honey, the electric blanket seems to have come unplugged from the wall,
And could you adjust my pillows, my head keeps wanting to fall?”
I got her all adjusted - comfortable and warm.
And returned to the TV for the half time commercial swarm.

Just before the second half started, I checked on her once more,
Sound asleep and peaceful; she let out a resounding snore.
I tiptoed to my TV, so happy I could sing,
Just before they kicked it off, the telephone began to ring.

Quickly, I answered it and said no one is home,
“Honey, that woke me with a fright and I don’t want to be alone.”
So, I sat in bed and held her hand while we watched the Oprah Show,
How my football team fared that day, I never was to know.

But having her here in our home, right where she belongs
Is better than any ole football game – of that I’m sure not wrong.

Premium Member Dear Frank

Dear Frank,

I'm sending a little note,
A note in the wind...
May you find this
Like I found you...

It was nearly a year ago,
In early December,
When I stumbled upon you.
Your voice and your music,
Your heart and your soul.
Floating into my ear,
Another kind of
Note in the wind...

And it made me smile.

As fate would have it
Music would fill a void
That I never saw coming...

Just days later...

When the Coronavirus
Would take my uncle away from me.

Just weeks before Christmas.

The very next day,
I was in my car,
Tuning the radio
To the only station
That plays holiday music,
Hoping that it would lift my spirits.

The first song that came on...
Was your version of
'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas'

It was you.
I knew it was you.
It was not Judy Garland.
It was not Bing Crosby.
It was Frank Sinatra.

After the song ended
The announcer confirmed it...

No other song, no other singer
Could have been more appropriate
In that moment...

I knew it was you.

I don't believe in coincidence.
I do believe in fate.

In that moment...
I almost cried, but didn't.
I smiled.

Not a day has gone by
That I don't listen
To one of your songs.

They make me smile.
Just like my uncle had.

I'm sending a little note
A note in the wind...
Just to say thanks
For the music, dear Frank.

May you find this
Like I found you...

With a smile...

P.S.

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Let your heart be light...

Someday soon we all will be together
If the fates allow...

The Resolute

The Resolute
~ Dedicated to all the Marines on the West Coast

I wake to the sound of yelling Kill Hats
And fearful youths,
Pain etched across their youthful faces
Their terror equal despite their races.

Months spent in complete terror,
Wondering,
Undecided, if it was in error.

The rest of our lives we commit,
As of yet untrue,
Though we live our lives for the moment.
As fear consumes everything,
For we are yet new, uncouth.

Our days consist of fistfights;
Of yelling contests, galore
Though all of my new bunkmates
In my squadbay I detest,
I abhor.

Slowly will becomes weak
And betwixt duty and love hearts are torn,
Yet with resolve we carry on,
Hearts holding bitter scorn.

Yet as the hours turn into days, then weeks
We all learn alone we are weak
As together we become,
All become single
All become one.

So as we all labor,
And with strain ourselves we test,
Respect for each one grows,
As we all do our best.

And as the fear comes to an end,
Arrives realization that this was only a test of time,
All fear and pain contained within frightened minds.

So arrives the day; we have all survived,
When finally, we can display our pride.
Our pride upon our chests,
And upon our covers glisten,
As we begin our futures,
Though our parents eyes may glisten

Step by weary step;
Hike by tiresome hike,
We fought to this day,
Just to hear the announcer say,
“To our newest Marines,
Semper Fidelis,”
As we headed our differing ways.
Separated throughout the western states,
Though Marines we all stay.
