Sixty-four Forevermore

Sixty-four forevermore
This month it has been fifty-four
In cap and gown walked down the aisle
The memories still make me smile

Many together all the years
From one through twelve from milk to beers
Sometimes bad but mostly good
Day to day lived as we should

No air condition in the school
To skip a day was sometimes cool
The beach was calling out our name
To not be caught part of the game

On week-end nights a drive-in show
To watch or not you never know
With luck a date to share the scene
Sometimes distracted from the screen

We also met at the tastee-freeze
Or the A&W to shoot the breeze
To see each other and be seen
The dining drive-in had no screen

Spoke to each other face to face
While snacking at a drive-in place
No cell phones then to help our fate
We did not text to find a date

Those were the days at least I think
To friends from then I raise my drink
I toast you all to end this rhyme
Those days I think a better time

Premium Member Just Us

Suppose there is no life in space, just us. And we inhabit Mars,
air condition Venus. Hold family barbecues, national holidays
on Mercury. Fly to Jupiter for spas of ammonium nitrate.
And go farther afield in the galaxy and on to other galaxies
leaving behind map-faced men, crow-like women and open gates.

Who will be the first-born human on the moon? News
from the moon colony! And so on, on every planet where
we've visited and established dusty villages or vast cities
over thousands of centuries. Then, will we not have somewhere,
somehow, under some sun's rays become another species?

Car Trouble

Car Trouble

The car started slow to go as cars go
Silent on the ride it motioned down the road
Leaves could be counted on the trees as I passed by
I counted every one just for fun
The pace picked up and time stood still
There was nothing to be done
It seemed a little odd at first
When the car traveled in reverse
And headed off the cliff into the universe
Falling off I screamed and cursed
Maybe the brakes gave out
Way beyond our system solar making many lefts
And when the auto made a sharp turn right
Exceeding light speed passing planets
I realized there were no street signs or people or roads
Everything was calm and normal in the void
A pleasant voyage but I had to wonder why
The Earth removed itself from sight
From my rear view mirror speeding out
I only paid five dollars’ worth of gas
Screaming past the universe unfolding
Collapsing there in front of me and dads jalopy
It seemed curious indeed
Will I make it home for dinner
Will I be late to the dance this evening
And will my parents be angry at me
The air condition stopped working hours ago
There are only foreign stations on the radio
Space ships pulled up next to me
Orange beings questioned why I drive so slow
Creatures with five eyes laughed at me as they rolled by
Silver androids stopped me for conversation
Space police pulled me over for speeding in wrong directions
For going ten thousand miles per second
In a three thousand speeding zone
They issued tickets for space ship violations
For speaking in a foreign tongue
And chewing gum without a license
And for being an alien without alien registration
Also for Improper lights in a speed of light designated zone
They sent me home with just a warning this time
I told them time had stopped
They wrote me up again for that and driving backwards
As I arrived back in time
Mom and pop stopped me on the spot
I forgot to take the trash out so I’m grounded
No more car or dancing with the stars

Day by day

My father
You keep me alive
Day by day
Here on the planet
Earth
Also I been
Living here on earth for
58 years
And I must tell you
That I love living
Here on earth
Also I pray every night
For you my father
I never forget to pray for you father
Before you made the earth
You had made the sky
For the birds to fly
Also you made the birds
With you holy hands
And I must say that the birds are beautiful
also it is wonderful
To see them flying in the sky
Day by day
When I woke up
This morning early
Th sun was out
And it was not that hot yet
I know that It will be
Hot at noon
Also there is no sign of rain yet

I took a look at the sky

And that was what I saw

That was what we are having

The heat warning
For a long time now
And that is very bad for people who
Have
Heart problem and asthma
I am very lucky that I have an
Air condition
In my bedroom
I have not gone out
Because of the heat
And also the heat
Attracted the bees
I am sleeping in every morning
And I am getting up
At 4:00 pm
And I go to my living room
And I turning my computer on
Also I do some work
For my father
All day today
I know that the time is going very
Fast today
Now it was already 10:00 PM
At night
I was feeling very tired now
I had turned of my computer and
I went to sleep
The next morning
Was raining finally
I could hear the rain
It was also cooling the earth
I put my rain coat
And I went for a walk
Around the block
So I could get some fresh air
Into my lungs
At 11:00 pm I returned back home
And I did some work for my father
Using my computer
Also I finished the work for my father
At 2 am
Now I finally turned the computer off
And I went to sleep
The night was made for us to sleep
By our father

One, two, three, four

Hardwood seeds planted on the floor

Trying to get to the final round

Championship bound

Who is your pick?

Cavs or Knicks

Garden parties are always filled with fame

WKRP broadcasted CBS’s Street manipulated game

Late night tape delayed

News wondered if Vietnam POWs completed the trade

Newly launched ESPN, soon took charge

Captaining the NBA barge

Cruising a hoop dream

Love Boat holiday network floated up stream

While Peacock’s spurs shine

Thundering, shaking the western spine

Enjoying an entertaining time

That cannot be declined

Or denied

Since the audience will find

Two winners survive

Not saying their seasonal goodbyes

Wanting to extend

And defend

The scoring message they send

Larry O’Brien’s trophy is for the best

Acknowledging acing basketballs premier climatic spring test

‘We are the champions’ winners will sing

Sporting awarded new flashy rings

Say senora to the winter blues

And welcome summer leagues with air condition that is cool

Let There Be Light

Let there be light
Today October 1st 2014
Nigeria celebrate 54year of
Independent

Let there be light
Now To the men on the hills
We are tired of darkness
We are feed up of heat
Our light builds are tired to sleep
The wires are whiling to catch life
Our food cry for preservation
The fan can't help the air
Our tv are tired of no touch
Our phone batteries need to be charge
Our cloths need to be strengthen
Despite all
Every month end we get bills
For what we never enjoyed
A scam
With no explanation

Let there be light
Nigeria is the biggest
Economy of Africa
Yet we lake constant electricity
the common man no not
The meaning of electricity
All day we burn fuel
With a power generator
Where some die from it pollution

Let there be light
Light up the land
And watch growth
Flow like a tap without
A head
The people are in need of life
How do you keep
Calm while we suffer
To nothing

Let there be light
On your hills
In our hot weather
You sleep with an
Air condition
Hello sir I wonder
How your head
Keep cool if you
Lack electricity
In that mansion of yours
I wonder how you enjoy
Your luxurious properties
With out the light
Yet you fail to provide
It to your people

Let there be light
Only a fool enjoys
To allow poverty
To live among his own
Community
Only a cowards live to
Only show up his hight of
No knowledge nor wisdom
The light is a necessity
Darkness is evil
Like is obvious
We pledge to you sir's
On the hill
Let there be light

Premium Member Summer's End

April came and the rains did fall,
May and June came with flowers for all.
Summer brought the heat of season,
and people sat in the living room air-condition.

Fall brought colors bright and bold,
Halloween haunted spirits nights cold.
And as the last leaf fell off the now naked tree,
Winter came and slapped a freezing spree.

In the lively hood of the dancing spring,
bustling actives merriness brings.
“Beyond the silence of summers end,”
the roll of the school bus wheels begin.

The school bus wheels rolling is great for me,
being a monitor provides my paycheck you see.
So “beyond the silence of summers end,”
the ride onto educational pursuit grins.

At any time

At any time
After lunch
I will have my nap
For a few hours
And in the afternoon
I will wake up
I will stay indoors
Where there is
Cool
Because my air condition
Is on
And I will do
Some work for
My Father
Because I am my
Father's poet
Also when my grandfather's clock
Chine 12:00 AM
I will turn my computer of
Then I will have a quick bite
To eat because I am starving
Also I will drink some Orange juice
With my meal
Now I will pray for my Father
Before I go to bed
First I have to turn my mind
OF
Then I will close my eyes
And drift away into a sleep
At any time
While I am sleeping
I am dreaming
With my loved ones
That I am missing
For a long time
Yes Father all my loved ones
Had died of cancer
Because they smoked like a chain smoker
Every single day
