Never the same

Relationships are special
Where break ups are rough.
The reasons you loved them
Become why you leave.

A special bond shared,
Destroyed from the roots.
You become haunted
By what you both shared.

Where once lay adoration
Turns to resentment
Of two souls who
Once promised each other the world.

You can’t hear your favourite song
Without thinking of them.
Every place that you go
Is tainted with their scent.

Dancing in the rain
Is now too intimate for you.
When the sky pours,
You no longer feel happy.

There’s the absence of clothes
In the other half of the cupboard.
Only your shoes
Sit in the doorway.

Your regular waitress
Hands you your coffee.
‘It’s on me,’
Said with pity.

The taste of your food
Is nothing but bland.
He took all the spices
That belonged in your kitchen.

The bookshelf is empty
And you don’t know why.
There’s only one book
But you were the reader.

It’s highlighted and marked,
With notes in the margins.
You’re donating it;
It hurts too much to read.

There’s no food in the fridge—
But that’s a lie.
There’s food in the fridge,
Just too much for you.

The milk is expired.
When last did you drink?
He was the coffee person
Every morning at six.

You stare at your phone
With an unintended hope.
It's not going to ring;
He won't be calling again.

You tear off the poems
Lining your bedroom walls.
Toss out clothes
You have no reason to wear.
(They’re too big anyway.)

Your hair is too short.
Bob to your chin.
It makes you look old
And the blond doesn’t help.

Your roots are showing,
But you can’t wait.
You just want to dye it.
It wasn’t a look you wanted.

You find your face wet,
Lay in the cold of the bed.
You’re alone
And nothing will ever be the same.

SEEING FROM THE OTHER SIDE

SEEING FROM THE OTHER SIDE

For years, one has entertained the notion
That nations and cultures can always mix
There are customs and appearances, true
Some might close their eyes, as many do
Also their ears, as language can play tricks
Races no longer separated by any ocean

Yet integration recalibrates one’s identity
More for others to feel safe and sound
Yet difference is surely to be celebrated
Whether or not all verbs are conjugated
But gentle friction is healthy when around
Seeing people as they are and want to be

Step by step, perhaps talk over the fence
But all be aware, there’s no time to sleep
The pace at which such acceptance grows
It takes many decades, as one who knows
National cultural norms are buried deep
There is no gain in perpetuating ignorance

Learning and adjustment aren’t just words
It needs the occasional slap in the face
To recognise what passes for normality
But on further thought, is quite arbitrary
Turning away disinterested, is a disgrace
Embrace the new, mix whey with curds

Unconditional Paternal Love Toward Shana Punim

Screaming writhing violent
uncontrollable spasms of abandonment
immediately followed her (like Mary's lamb)
where e'er she went
verbal communication attempt didst rent
ear piercing outpouring

barrage heard clearly by vested gent,
a bajillion miles away e'en
stymying the likes of Lois Lane, Clark Kent
or special ABC letter writ agent,
when aforementioned younger daughter
raged day and night without abatement

soon after our baby's birth
agonizing distress self evident
when bundle of joy became a toddler,
which ordinary concomitent
expectant joyful milestones
hoop fully attendant

with hypothetical offspring
aurally learning oral rudiment
basis of language skill
with instructional accouterment
mastering native tongue
celebratory breakthru achievement

acquiring brisk command of lingua franca
easily excelling telly
tubby "FAKE" accent
gibberish with cogent
encoded development coaxed ability
regarding divine acknowledgement

pertaining to obvious delayed development,
when dada decried disabled
doc's "NON FAKE"
dupe forced mine abhorrent
realization upon crestfallen papa,
that our precious progeny

requisite remedial requirement
versed here, viz poetic abridgement
thee youngest of
(deux) daughters afflicted
at young age initial

general consensus genetic accident
engendered ambiguous diagnosis,
cuz forming words absent
purportedly linkedin with
high functioning autism
spurred self blame abutment,

sans cognitive fluke (most
likely inherited) malady immediate adherent
parental duty entailed, promoted
vouchsafed, et cetera
lifelong intervention convert,
a blessed webbed accompaniment

decades later nearly wrought total abolishment
whereat now grown year old lass
defied wildest predictions, adjustment
witnessed thee cherished apple of my eye
metamorphosed since early adolescent

to secure part time employment
attending Bend, Oregon Community College
and coordinating advancement,
where Shana Punim secured plane ticket
and took to friendly skies to my amazement!

Against Their Whatever

If my happiness rides black horse for joy,
But your sadness takes my horse a calm beast,
Just to create enough scenes to play it toy...
It's glaring all is but a shameless feast.

Against their will,
What God fulfill...
Through life's uphill,
Keeps my goodwill.

If my doubt runs like a white horse for trick,
But your assurance takes my horse a snail...
Just to make pressure fall on struggling prick,
It's time certain impossible to trail.

Against their trick,
What shame flick...
Through threats click,
Grace silent quick.

If my choice sings loudly against your will,
But your take peeps my voice to mime pure you,
Just to have same perspective to stand still...
It's odd your wit lonely bothers off clue.

Against their deal,
What evil conceal...
Through love's ordeal,
Mercy dare reveal.

If life is short of your expectation,
But your chances are to build others taste...
Just to avoid cheap discrimination,
It's shameful but weird, your life is a waste.

Against their hope,
What anxiety rope...
Through dainty scope,
Faith's trial cope.

If death is for all; yes, life is for none
But living your dream is all for yourself,
Just wasting fighting strength on useless fun...
It's nothing to complain luck against elf.

Against their head,
What rumours spread...
Through lies... instead;
Truth gladly behead.

So, just kindly fall in love with moment...
Not justly whole to timing adjustment.

Premium Member Moon Vacations in 2050

For those who qualify for this costly trip,
permits will be given for travel to the moon.
Friends, family, or lovers may apply as a unit
for this one and only “out-of-the-world” experience
lasting no more than one week.

Since the moon has already been colonized
by the greatest of our world’s minds,
moon vacations are comparable to
educational fun field trips where folks
will view mankind’s unique adjustment to moon life.

To qualify, people must pass a test
involving simulation of space travel.
Both adults and children must also pass a test
determining their ability to cope with the experience.
Those with criminal records need not apply.

Having qualified, my husband and I enter daily
free lotteries within our designated small region.
With a chance of one out of a thousand each day,
we figure we will get our trip before we die.
We can’t wait to view earth from the moon!

Premium Member Pip Fixes the Mitten

Pan’s Pip was fluttering close to the rose.
We saw her tiptoe on it, then twirling her toes.
She’s a ballerina said the hedgehog, totally smitten.
“I don’t agree,” said the brownie crawling out of a mitten.

Where did that come from? Asked a light damselfly.
Not sure, the brownie said, but it will make you cry.
There are dreams in there that will keep you up all night.
With your eyes all googly, full of terrified fright.

I wish you would find a new place to sleep, his cousin said.
That mitten has dreams that have messed up your head.
Pan’s Pip heard and came by to give an adjustment to the bed.
Great dreams came now, fed into the mitten’s yard head.

Banished

This is not a sex song,

this is just a grown up transaction,

this is simply getting it wrong-
yet we don't have a day after,

this is none other than a fight to the finish-

yet we're fending off the dark,
and hardly can speak English.

This is the known world being torn away by the nails,

people making no sense,

and the costs can kill live animals,

this is an eager loner-ship meeting the made men,
in a conquest for an ancient place no-one who is unworthy may hike,

this is a world on the brink of a new thing,

nothing we knew,

nothing we're unafraid of,

even if you don't count the lights adjustment to the dawn,
and the start of the car resting on the lawn,

this is your biggest prose-
to include the load,
and denounce all foes.

Premium Member What To Write

Thoughts all jumbled up, ideas flitting past.
Staring at the screen inspiration yet to strike.
Taping words on to note pad, then deleting most.
Sighing as you start again a new thought in mind.

This seems to work so you run with it
entering more and more words as a picture forms.
Words become sentences that flow into paragraphs.
At last it holds its audience's attention.

You sit back and read it through with an odd adjustment.
Finally satisfied that it is a finished and polished piece.
Ready to be published on the web, your finger hovers
then you hit that button and hope readers like it.

Should I Associate Hope To Only Dead Tree

Forever is a giant ground,
Where buried roots live in hope.
Though, dead in earth and weak beyond
The realistic of growth scientifically.

Unless been uprooted and cast in fire,
It remains a new seed to sprout new desires.
Studies often wonder how each get to cope--
The threat of call, hope yield basically.

But men are death bound;
For all days spend are counting down to reluctant yawned
And when they bow to breath's failure,
Casket becomes the precious treasure.

Far away from human comprehension:
Is the programmed time of ascension;
Placing humans' hope above the one of the tree--
That in heaven, everyone gets to see.

Truly, for humans is judgment.
Of course, on earth lies adjustment.
Definitely, tree don't live off earth
When at the end comes final death.

Certainly, for hope is probability.
"With wishes, let no man acquire assurance"
Meanwhile, for mercy is possibility.
" With favour, let all receive insurance"

Rora búgà , when sun rises.
Se pélè, when your cap spreads.
Fùn eran; mushroom improvises.
Lòótò, good is thy sweet fleshy head.

Kisses set awesome schedule for nights.
Bullies loose rest in mornings,
When willful motives come out bright-
Shining its dim light so adorning...
