July 26 Heart for God Bible Meditations Based on Ecclesiastes 9-12
Key Verse – Ecclesiastes 9:7 Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works.
HEART THAT ABIDES IN GOD WHO ACCEPTS OUR RIGHTEOUS WORKS
Our heart abides in God Who accepts our righteous works along His empowerment
Indeed, shining midst sins’ defilement
While reinforcing our commitment
Surely afar from abomination-detriment.
Our heart abides in God Who accepts our righteous works along His testimony
Indeed, bright though discouragements are many
Truly strengthening our faith when spiritually rainy
Surely beyond the glitter of easy money.
Our heart abides in God Who accepts our righteous works along His holiness
Indeed, radiant against any unrighteousness
While refining our character by His goodness-steadfastness
Surely toward Christ-likeness.
Our heart abides in God Who accepts our righteous works along His rulership-guide
Indeed, brilliant despite transgressions side by side
While leading our minds to decide
Surely around perfect will’s door to where we can stride.

The Cross and The Lynching tree are the two most emotional depictions
Of the African experience in America when it comes to the descriptions
Of the historical circumstances that define my people's struggle
Of the hatred, the pain and the injustice nothing but trouble
Torn down and broken hearted in the valley of despair
Death seemed like the only way to get out of there
But my people were survivors and they knew that one day change would come
So they held on to their faith and hope because of the Holy One
They would not accept defeat, they would not accept doubt
They knew that somehow God would work it all out
Despair may seem so real but we have an endemic capacity to live
Knowing that God is on our side and mercy to us He did give
Glory Hallelujah we placed our hope in Christ
Despite the rope and lynching tree taking my people's lives
The Lynching tree depicts death and despair
While the Cross symbolizes eternal life and no fear
We've been transformed and transcended by the power of the Cross
In spite of white supremacy and the black lives that were lost
And we now know that there is nothing new under the sun
As what happened to my people also to Jesus it was done
The Cross is a redemptive symbol of faith, hope and trust
It depicts God's resurrection power that abides inside of us
And the harsh realities of slavery that my ancestors endured
Has made their descendants more resilient than ever before
Yet systemic lynching in still in affect and the world needs to see
What's truly happening in America's so called democracy
Black folks are being killed almost every single day
A disproportionate number in prison or in economic disarray
Financial slavery in the form of debt, unemployment or uneducated
But we hold on hoping that one day we will be truly emancipated
From the Crucifixion to the Middle Passage and beyond slavery
We know see the correlation between the Cross and The Lynching tree
A kiss is not a kiss, until you give it
A hug is not a hug, until you lend it
A smile is not a smile, until you deliver it
A gift is not a gift until you present it
A hope is not a hope until you believe it
A faith is not a faith until you consider it
A dream is not a dream until you desire it
A feeling is not a feeling until you feel it
A light is not a light until you shine it
A love is not a love until you grant it
Forever and always know – it is in the heart
Where there is love to give, to impart
That light will glow and we can always know
Love that grows beyond our soul, where love
Reaches out, pierces a heart, a hope, a life
So that they can see and believe – in the sacrifice
That made a way for you and me to be free
From the doubts, the dark, the past that haunts,
Because of His love – we can feel the hope, the knowing
That love like this will just keep going, keep giving…
It is love this strong that makes a way out of wrong
It is love this alive that proves there is power in the One
Who abides inside, forever alive – forever alive…
Making a way for lost souls, making a way so they can know
The One who silences the fear, wipes away every tear
Fills the spirit with a love that shows wherever it goes,
Wherever it goes… there is unending hope, eternal faith
The most amazing grace the heart has every known
Thanks to this – there is love that continues to grow and grow,
Forever alive, forever reminding me to abide in the One
Who makes a way through the darkness, a way through the hurt
A way through the shadows that want to silence my love

What a joy comes to one's heart
to see our spiritual children stepping out
having received God's truth at birth
as our heavenly father said from His fount
From that sane fount springs forth love
to love one another at the father's command
this is not new but have always heard
so walk in His truth so to truly stand
Beware of deceivers in this world
who won't confess Christ to have come
such are the deceiver and the antichrist
denying Jesus makes you spiritually numb
Be on your watch so don't lose your reward
keep true to Christ always connect to abide
in this teaching being a true follower
for if not you don't have God turning aside
Whoever comes without teaching this truth
don't receive him, doing so makes you a part
of his wicked schemes denying your Christ
rejoice and walk in truth reveals your heart
(I rejoiced greatly to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as we were commanded by the Father. And now I ask you, dear lady—not as though I were writing you a new commandment, but the one we have had from the beginning—that we love one another. And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning so that you should walk in it. For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. Such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist. Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward. Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give him any greeting, for whoever greets him takes part in his wicked works.)
2 John vs 4-11 (ESV)
(I chose these verses as they are most relevant in today's world, especially for every Christian believer to be acting in accordance to these truths.)
Heaven forbid, He who many claim to be
the son of God made no such claim, God forbid.
He was taught and learned the ways of sin you see
from rabbi, these very learned and conflicted men.
One God was on Joseph's son lips not named;
one god and he but one son, who wished to enfold
the untold numbers who did not believe the same.
He was of God's chosen people, sons of Abraham.
Believe as did he, whom was given Christ's name
all mankind lives in the palm of one God's hand.
A god who created and does understand, orchestrate
all, undivided, twixt good and bad, small men's dole.
Fear not all actions which create or destroy are known
and forgiveness given for we are but bone.
Actions, consequences, choices, creation's plan,
God unnamed abides within the clay of man.
Praise silences my regrets,
Puts an end to shame and guilt,
Remembers nothing is better
Than listening to the still, small voice
From the Creator, the gift giver,
The One whom I praise when I lift
My heart, my spirit – toward the heavens,
Embracing the miracle of listening
When He whispers His sweetest blessings
Praise inspires my soul to accept
Salvation from the One who gave me
Everything there is – eternity with Him,
The answer to my fears, the serenity
Breathing hope through my spirit,
The miracle of a faith far more alive
Than anything else on earth, any doubt

This is faith that responds with assurance

Praise stirs prayers, promises, preventing
The despair, the grief, the despondency
From dimming the heart’s beautiful, the wind’s
Music, the sigh of grace – expressions of the way
Lights never fade when reflected from the place
Where the Son invites the soul to know Him,
The light who abides inside those who grow to be…
Followers of His love, His light, His lingering
Hope for paradise, heaven with the God of love
Praise whispers through the heart, reminding faith
To always, not just believe, but to know without a doubt…
This is the light that brings healing and grace, fulfilling
Every hope, each dream, every need – I’ll praise Him throughout eternity!
His love never fails,
like a light who dispels
Even the darkest night
Ending all dread and fright
His love, like the wind
Kisses away the chagrined
Defeating doubts with hope
Assuring hearts they can cope.
His love inspires my soul,
Finds a way to make me whole,
Without Him, I’d be so lost,
Only love can know the cost.
His love, abides within me,

Without His love, I’d still be blind,
He has blessed all humankind.

Not one shadow can scatter His peace,

To be with Jesus, my heart’s grace
I can’t wait to see Him face-to-face.
When I put my hand in His, I’ll see,
Sacred love who paid the price for me!
“It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23 of the King James Bible
With endless compassion, God cares for me
Assuring His presence, always steadfast
Since He redeemed my soul, setting me free
From bondage of grievous guilt of the past.
Midst endless mercy, the Lord reaches out
Granting pardon with His life-changing might
For my confessed sin along stubborn doubt
Toward righteous walk by His guiding light.
Oh, endless is the love of Christ* indeed
Offering life everlasting as gift
Thus, to Him I do cast my every need
Trusting that my heart He can surely lift.
Endless peace from the Almighty prevails
Smiting fears and worries brought by despair
Guarding me with promise that never fails
Around Scriptures’ truth I claim in prayer.
Along endless grace the Saviour provides
My faith is made fervent for service zeal
With gratitude as my spirit abides
In His will, enclosed by triumphant seal.
*Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
