Dark Secrets

Do you harbor a secret true?
Like everyone else and me too;
All of us have something to hide,
Affairs we would rather set aside:

An illicit fling or an erotic scene,
Oh, of nature grave and keen,
A wild fantasy or wistful whims
Or maybe, one of the 7 deadly sins.

Like the wilted rose in a book
Or the rickety skeleton in a nook,
We shove our frailties in the far recess
of our mind for no one to access.

We all succumb to carnal sentiments,
Unmindful of the 10 commandments;
If anyone can prove me otherwise
that truth not I speak but plain lies,

Forever to hold my peace I swear,
Not to write, speak or ever share
my thoughts or opinion in this case
Until my last day of the sunshine I face!

Dark Secrets

Say, do you harbor a secret true
like everyone else and me too?
All of us have something to hide
Affairs we would rather set aside.

An illicit fling or an erotic scene
Oh, of nature grave and keen,
A wild fantasy or wishful whims,
maybe, one of the 7 deadly sins?

Like the wilted flower in a book
or the rickety skeleton in a nook,
We hide our frailties in the far recess
of our mind for no one to access.

I was married ten years to the day,
She was too and in a family way,
Yet petal by petal I pried open the rose
from where in my neighbor’s yard grows.

We all succumb to carnal sentiments
unmindful of the 10 commandments;
If anyone can prove me otherwise
that truth I speak not but plain lies.

Forever to hold my peace I swear,
Not to write, speak or ever share
my thoughts or opinion in this case
until the last day of my life I face!

Breaking Benjamin - Far Away

Just as the elements within our lives are inevitable to intercede
There are also uncontrolled forces that have to circle the world
Pride, envy, gluttony, lust, sloth, wrath, and greed
These 7 deadly sins are sold more than the blooded diamonds and pearls

With prayer and faith I stand next to my mother.
And with undoubted submission I'd give anything for my sister.
I'll forever go to war for and with my brother.
But ever since Cain killed Abel, family's have killed, and killers get richer.

Lord when you gather your souls back please grant us your mercy
Grab our hearts with the inner core of your palms.
We drink from a cup but Revelations still leaves us thirsty.
Deliver me like the light you spoke of in the beautiful book of Psalms.

Wash the pain, suffering, and betrayal from our flesh.
Let your light dry away the history of grieving within tears.
Invite me to throw away my sins as I ask with all my chest.
And forgive man as I will forgive myself when your flood crosses near.

57 My Prayer Against the 7 Deadly Sins

57.

My Prayer Against the 7 Deadly Sins

Lord, abet me put aside

The vain and frivolous pride

I nurture within me inside

Lord, do not allow to seed

Vicious barnacles of greed

Eventhough I am in need

Lord, erase the vanity

Revealed by mask of envy

Searing me to atrophy

Lord, shield me from glaring gust

Of humid, temperate lust

For it taints my soul with rust

Lord, allow not to gather

In my heart and mind anger

Make it lag, take it faster

Lord, let me not be clumsy

Due to frisky gluttony

Horror of obesity

Lord, shun me from insolence

Brought by putrid indolence

Rip this slough of negligence.

Clueless

I took a chance on you - even though it went against my black heart
I didn't realize it'd be rocky like this from the very start
I didn't know what I'd be getting into - I truly didn't care
I didn't realize until way later my actions would be getting into an electric chair
The many, many masks - yanked out of his closet doors
Lots of them he's used already - documented some unbelievable scores
Here I thought the first little southern boy I was with would be grand
I didn't suspect that my personality he hated that much and he couldn't stand
I didn't know his little body would be erupting with so much past hate
Like a professional manipulator - I didn't realize it until it was way too late
The façade he displayed - so pro - so unequivocally flawless
Acting like from the beginning he was my magical genie and he'd grant my wish
Like a mentally-ill cowboy genie was hidden within those Memphis trees
Stalking and creeping upon his prey - through those thick forest leaves
A southern accent - a fake southern cowboy smile
Saying I was just a booty-call - but he's stayed 7.5 years now awhile
He says he'll never trust another f--king b--ch
That is - unless she's spoiling him - in which case she's gotta be rich
The level of manipulation he possesses is none other than God-sent
But he fails to have acquired simple survival skills - like bills and rent
Raising himself in this Luciferian devilish light
Failing logic and common sense - like what's wrong and right
He wants me to love and be loved - but refuses to let me in
Although he ironically possesses every single one of the f--king 7 Deadly Sins
He loves the idea of wanting to "be in love with me"
However; if you watch him closely - he's genuinely clueless as you can see

Greed That Fills the Evil In Me

When we spin sin we think it's a win
We fill the evil that is within
Then we plant the seeds
That consumes my every need
When we feed our greed
It's hard to break free
Only then are we able to see
How it has its daggers into me

Oh Lord I plea don't give up on thee
Show me away from this hell
Make my spirit well
So my heart will swell
Oh please don't let me fail
My soul is so frail

Taking advantage of others
I find myself ducking for cover
Show me the light
So I can fight these feelings
That just might
Come back into sight

Take my hand so we can take flight
To your kingdom where I can
Get my greed set free
To fix what is broken inside of me
So you would know
How my heart grows in you

Greed is one of the 7 deadly sins
With you my Lord
My life can now begin
When we trust God we all win
He makes it possible to live life
Free of all sin
