Portraits can take many shapes and forms
Unlike in Rembrandt, a Rubens, or even a Dali
Modern artists will often eschew the norms
Portraits of myself do not look much like me.

Unlike in Rembrandt, a Rubens, or even a Dali
A portrait may be merely a fine-line drawing
Portraits of myself may not look much like me,
Asked why, the artist will do some hem-hawing.

A portrait may be merely a fine-line drawing
Having none of the subject’s facial features,
Asked why, the artist will do some hem-hawing
Artists must see subjects as mythical creatures.

Having none of the subject’s facial features,
I find it impossible to know who I’m looking at
Artists must see subjects as mythical creatures,
But I take umbrage when I am drawn as a cat!

I find it impossible to know who I’m looking at
Modern artists will often eschew the norms
But I take umbrage when I am drawn as a cat,
Portraits can take many shapes and forms.

Writing a Sonnet

A sonnet I shall write
Oh, how does it go?
Ah, I think I know!
A, B, B, A, am I right?!
And I shall write away the night,
My pen ready to go!
A, B, B, A, twice in a row.
Writing til the morning’s twilight
Breaks through the distant sky.
Now the tune and rhyme changes pace.
6 more lines to go and my
Hands and the sun are engaged in a race.
The finish line drawing nigh;
My pen scribbling, the sun sizzling, a mighty chase!

Sketches of simple things
Artistic interpretations

Line art sculptures
Pencil engravings
Visions of harmony

Etchings in clear lines
Black on white shades
Grey tints impact

Notice the familiar
In artistic strokes
Lines in sure tangent

Graceful lines shape
Define the picture play
Still life subjects

Drawings in 2D
Live on paper sheets
Touch of focus art

Cryptic memory
Assembles in greyscale
Mental portraits

Adjust to light
Form and function
Greet line symmetry

Words can only hint
Upon that cryptic sight
Rendered by art form

Pictures rendered
By heart and mind
That urgent hand unfolds

Once upon a blank page
Where no shades were
A new emergence

Artistic perspective
Primal devotion stays
Mint in shaded tints

Premium MemberInner Self

Allow me to tantalize you with a glimpse of my inner self.
Artistic in nature, wordy or just a line drawing of beauty,
that captures my core of thought.
Independent to some extent; my mind continually wonders and
wanders aimlessly about, searching viscerally for solace of
tranquility/harmony in a life that has been full of uncertainty.
A romantic of phrases drenching a heart of old wounds,
healing and consoling with a heavy imagination.
I want desperately to live in a place of concordance, if just for a day.
Wrap my love in confetti and shower the earth with exuberant laughter
and faith in itself.
I am a dreamer of hopefulness in reality, filling my memoirs with
profound conceptions of truth, honesty, and integrity in a world of
misconceptions, completely disregarding turmoil.
