Deep breath
And push
Face, stretch out, glide,
Noise diminished,
smooth as silk taking in the first.
Meditation moving forward.
Ever forward.
Pushing downhill.
Survival in the chill.
Survival in chill.
Enumeration in perfect timing.
No chore to attend,
no chores to attend to.
My survival in the chill.
My off switch.
Breathe, pull, pull, pull, breathe.
Silent, rhythmical, turn and push.

A boy and girl from Oswego
Went for a swim in the lido
They had so much fun
Out in the Spring sun
Now when they swim there are three go

Childhood Theme Park
In the shadow of Ilkley Moor,
Cow and Calf rocks watch over.
Growing up in a rural town,
A childhood hillside rover.
Flowing like the River Wharfe,
Young days of endless wonder.
Summertime never ending,
Joys of innocence I plunder.
Nature trails in bluebell wood,
Lido swimming in open air.
Bogey cart down Curley Hill,
No fear for safety, didn’t care.
My town was full of adventure,
I had my very own pebble beach.
Tickling Trout by old bridge,
Hide under stones out of reach.
Hebers Ghyll, moorland streams,
Teasing the whirlpool in May.
Pooh sticks from dusk to dawn,
Just one more perfect day.
Memories of ten years l treasure,
Shaping the person in me.
Ilkley was my first theme park,
Days of future past, let them be.

SNAPSHOTS FROM SHIP AND SHORE
he licked his lips
as the ship sailed closer
paws in the upright position
ready for landing on the lido deck
his husky tummy rumbled
eyes taking snapshots
~
humans snap photos
of the cute little bear
inching, just so closer
but just out of range
for a smack down
~
the motor starts up
chasing thoughts of hope
to fill his cavernous stomach
with delectable provisions
of fine dining

A romantic poet whose great talents grow.
More successful have more numbers of foe.
Lucy Poems and Tintern Abbey in mind deep go.
When he wrote Lyrical Ballads he did glow
And makes the world better residing, though
Not happy with others, kept listening echo
Of the nature and wrote many verses ago.
Through his poem I wandered like a cloud slow;
He is the best romantic poet I think by a quo.
Missing his poems even by chance is a woe.
Alas! How badly I miss his Lucy Poem I know.
So once again, ready to relish his poems stow
With joy, delight, elation and ecstasy lido.
